On the day of the move, Alex texted me that they were on their way and arrived exactly when he said they would. They were super professional and fast and I felt totally at ease with Alex and his crew. For my 2 bedroom move, they sent 3 movers with a huge truck. They had wardrobe boxes I could use for my clothes, which was much appreciated. They took apart things like my table, tv stand, book shelves, etc. and wrapped everything. We ended up working with Dottie, who was incredibly easy to work with. She set a cheerful tone from the moment she arrived and helped us make some tough choices to get rid of stuff, while being very respectful of things we did not want to get rid of. Ultimately, we felt it was a good value as well. We had Dottie for about 5 hours, accomplished more than we were hoping to, and felt the bill was very fair. The final invoice was also split with the deposit, which we paid a couple weeks in advance during the scheduling process, so the final invoice wasn't nearly as bad as we hoped. They stated that they always ask customers to turn on their TVs before loading them onto the truck. However, they did not ask me to do this, nor did they follow that procedure with the smaller TV in my bedroom. What I also don't understand is why I would ask them to move a broken 70-inch TV in the first place. If I knew the TV was already broken, there would have been no reason for me to pay movers to transport a large, broken TV to my new home. When I tried to discuss the situation with the owner/manager, the conversation unfortunately became confrontational. He raised his voice, became defensive, and accused me of lying about the TV working before the move. Moving is already expensive, and I don't believe it's fair that I should now have to cover the cost of replacing a TV that was working before the move. I have since submitted a formal damage claim with the company and filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS). I hope we can come to a fair resolution. I also want to make it clear that I am not looking for any of the individual movers who helped us to face unnecessary consequences. They were friendly and otherwise did a great job with our move. I simply want the situation handled fairly and to be compensated for my damaged TV. I understand that accidents can happen during a move and that sometimes things get damaged. If the damage had been caused by something I did, I would absolutely take responsibility for it. I'm only asking that the same accountability be shown here and that we can come to a fair resolution.

When I investigated, the post office explained that Box Bros uses a third-party vendor for overseas shipping, and that vendor sent the package back. When I brought the returned package to Box Bros, the employee on duty was sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do. In other words: I paid $300 for a service that was never completed, and was told I was on my own. I ended up shipping through USPS for $120, bringing my total cost to $420. I returned to Box Bros seeking a refund. The owner acknowledged the issue and promised to make it right -- possibly a partial refund or store credit -- but was vague about the details. That was over six months ago. Despite multiple visits and assurances from staff that the owner would reach out, I have never been contacted. **Bottom line:** Box Bros is still a great spot to buy boxes -- it's the best option in the area for that. But I would not recommend using their shipping services. You'll pay significantly more than USPS, UPS, or FedEx, and if something goes wrong, don't expect a resolution. One star, because they promised to fix this and never followed through.

They never complained and kept pushing through. Jose was great at communicating too. And they ask questions instead of assuming, which I appreciate a lot. I just wish the scheduling person was as communicative as Jose. The scheduling experience was not great - the person on the phone kept mishearing me. I clearly told them my house has 2 bedrooms and a bonus room, but in reality they only planned for moving 1 bedroom, resulting in understaffing, which made me ended up paying more because of the long hours and overtime. The scheduling person didn't even get my name right...the scheduling experience was pretty bad. But the actual moving experience was good. I guess next time I will just have to be extra cautious with the scheduling office.
