Took me in last minute for a hair cut, change of color and blow out. The owner is so sweet and I really enjoyed talking to her while she worked on my hair. You can tell she enjoys what she does. My hair came out great and it was exactly what I wanted. Very reasonable prices too. Would absolutely go again. read more

The staff is very friendly and professional, I can't remember the name of the girl that cut my son's hair but she did and amazing job, very patient, fast and kind. I definitely recommend them and we are for sure coming back. read more

221 Post A Salon - The after - Hair Salons Near Me - Orange, Connecticut

LOVED this salon. I had been putting off getting my hair cut for a while but as a curly haired woman you can only deny the unkempt frizz for so long. Called spontaneously hoping for an appointment and I was in the chair two hours later! Sarah revived both my hair and me with her shear skills and openhearted conversation. So thankful for her and for 221 post! Will be back even if it's just for a shampoo ;) read more

I came to 221 Post this summer after having my hair ruined at another salon. I was hesitant and afraid to try another new salon after the terrible experience that I had at a different salon this summer. Enter the most relaxing atmosphere and the kindest staff! I told them about my experience and I was very specific with my colorist asking her only to dye specific sections of my hair. Not only do they have training and skills here they put you at ease and let you know what they are doing while they are doing it! I have never felt so at ease at a salon and I am going to keep making that drive up to Orange Connecticut for a half head of highlights and blow outs. I haven't had a cut here yet so stayed tuned for updates! read more

I came to this place because I saw good reviews. Unfortunately, I left feeling taken advantage of. I called prior asking how much a trim, wash and blow dry would be they said it would range from 40 to 65 the most. I left paying 85 and still tipped 10. Upsetting. 95 dollars total for a trim wash and blow dry was not worth it. I felt like they took advantage of me being a new customer and may have thought that I had money to spend like that and over charged me. read more

I found Jamie on Instagram. I drove an hour to this location. Her pictures are REAL and reflect her amazing talent! I'm about 60% gray and haven't been able to get my color right with anyone else. Jamie really listened to what I wanted and delivered! She updated my color and toned the yellow brassy color out of it. She also cut it and the blow dry afterwards was amazing! I highly recommend Jamie Pressman at this salon. read more

Sarah and the manager are so welcoming, the place is cozy and clean, and they play great music! Great vibe and overall wonderful experience. I'm looking forward to my next appointment! read more

I'm new to Orange and wanted to try a new salon! SO happy to have found this place. Alyson, the owner, managed to squeeze me in last minute to her busy schedule and I left there with a beautiful hair cut, feeling fresh and healthy again! Very welcoming atmosphere and very clean and spacious. Can't wait for my next cut! read more

Amazing!!!! Absolutely love it here! I miss this place so much and can't wait to be able to go back!

Had a Groupon/Living Social for this. I had a phenomenal time and they are really great. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and listen to what I wanted. What I think was the best was that Trisha did not try to convince me to do an expensive straightening treatment but did say that she thought that people with naturally curly hair need to embrace their hair, not just chemically straighten it. So impressed. Love the color. Loved her. Will be back! read more

Found this place on Yelp when in the area and loved it. Trisha was very experienced and worked at Peter Coppola in Westport, my usual. The decor is great, they serve you coffee and tea cakes, and have waxing and spa services as well. Very friendly, professional staff. Also reasonable prices!! I had damaged hair but didn't want to chop off too much. Trisha told me her honest professional opinion, but listened to what I wanted and took off the damaged ends. Looks fantastic! Overall great experience. read more

I love this place! I've been going here for 5 years. Everyone is very friendly. The moment I walk in the door, I feel like I'm there to see my friends! My hairdresser is Alyson and she does an excellent job! The thing I appreciate most, is her talent with color! I have red hair which is very difficult to cover the greys with a natural color. Took me a long time to find her and finally have someone that does the color right! I see a lot of good work from the other stylists as well! Love this place! Definitely recommend! read more

I am new to the area and was searching for a place to call my regular place. I'm glad I found this place as both the decor and people was appealing and welcoming. But aside from that, they were knowledgeable and tended to me and other guests with respect and courtesy. read more

I used to go to this salon a few years ago, but followed my stylist to her new salon. It became too expensive, so I went here. Made an appointment explaining what I wanted. When I walked in I saw that the stylist they had me with was a much older women, who I recognized, and has been there for many years. I have absolutely nothing against older people, but I felt she probably wasn't up to date with current styles. I felt too bad to leave. I should have. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. I wanted to say "STOP!" a few times but I felt bad. She chopped up my hair so badly, I was shocked. She kept cutting and I asked her to stop. She said she was "texturizing". It was absolutely NOTHING even similar to what I asked for. I paid my bill (it was too expensive), even tipped her too much. When I got in my car I was mortified! I started crying. It was a chopped up, uneven mess. When I got home, it was worse than I thought. I should have said this to the owner and refuse to pay, but I'm not that person. I should have listened to myself and walked out when I first got there. I'll never go back to this salon again. When you get a bad feeling, listen to it. read more

I have been going to Jamie since I first moved to CT the fall of 2008 and now, even though I moved to Boston, continue to make the trip to have my hair cut by Jamie. She is the first person I have ever had cut my thick hair who has known exactly what to do and how to make me feel good about my hair. She always listens to me, and even when I say, I don't know what to do, she still creates something I love. She even has cut my toddler's hair, fixing haircuts done by "kid's salons" that were disastrous. All of the people who work at 221 Post are so nice and friendly, always smiling. I would highly recommend 221 Post and will probably continue driving down from Boston to have my hair cut by Jamie, she's that good. read more

I have been going to Jamie for 7 years and not once has she ever failed to amaze me. Before I met her, I had been going to other stylists who were too afraid to give me the red hair I wanted. The first time Jamie did my hair, I left with color better than I could have imagined. She has always listened to what I want and isn't afraid to be creative when I want something new. It's like she can read my mind! Overall, 221 Post is an amazing salon with a professional team that takes great care of you. 5 stars and then some! read more

I saw an add on Groupon for a full Balayage with haircut and read prior positive reviews from customers so I thought I would try it out. it was easily accessible from the highway and was actually larger than I anticipated and very nicely decorated on the inside. I arrived at 9 AM and was greeted by Jill my stylist... Right away she was friendly and made me feel at ease with the style balayage I was looking for and I showed her a few example pictures as well. Jill jumped right in and made the process so unbelievably relaxing and enjoyable... she even used two colors on my hair to tone down some of the blonde and give it more dimension! Once she started to blow dry it is when the magic really happened... The colors came out beautifully and were just about a mirror image of the pictures that I showed her! She even curled it after the cut to make me look fabulous on the way out the door... I would highly recommend both Jill and the salon and will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Made an appointment here after seeing the reviews on Yelp. My hair was three different colors from root to tip and I needed it fixed asap. Trisha did my hair and it looks absolutely amazing. The price was more than reasonable and everyone makes you feel so comfortable here. I'm more than happy with this salon. read more

usually have no bad experiences getting my eyebrows waxed at this establishment, but was left with no words at the work done on my brows. after asking for a light reshaping, i was left with brows that started not near my nose but instead at the corners of my eyes, a significant change I did not ask for and definitely did not want. did not even bother to wax the tops of my brows. it makes me sad to see that after their previous incredible eyebrow waxer left, owner did my brows and did not even ask me whether or not i was okay with her taking the essential parts of my eyebrows off (was given no mirror). very upset and disappointed in something that will now take me months to fix. read more

I've been coming here since I needed up 'dos for prom over 15 years ago and have loved it ever since. Jamie Pressman does my hair (highlights, cut, style, blow outs) and I even brought my bridesmaids here for my wedding to have their hair done and Jamie did all of their makeup. I highly recommend Jamie's services; I've referred 3 of my friends here recently and they have all loved it too! read more
