Now the previous evening, my husband contacted a large local competitor to check our HVAC system. Technician from local competitor came out and looked out HVAC system, didn't test any components and stated "our compressor was locked & leaking refrigerant and quoted my husband $6k to replace it or we can purchase a brand new HVAC system for $25k!!!" (NOT TRUE!!!). The tech even left our outside power switch unplugged so we couldn't test the system!! SMH!!! We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!! Joe K, Service Technician at HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling contacted my husband within 20 minutes of him contacting the office the next business day and scheduled a visit that evening. He came out to the house, checked the compressor and quickly diagnosed the capacitor as the problem & replaced it. And Joe K. even showed my husband how he diagnosed the capacitor as the issue NOT the compressor leaking refrigerant as stated by local competitor!! No refrigerant leaking at all!! Compressor in good condition!! In addition, Joe K., checked the wiring, fan, all associated parts and cleaned our a/c unit. No issues at all!! Just some cleaning needed!!! HVAC in excellent working condition AGAIN!!! We called and scheduled Jimmy to come back; he did, assessed the system, and gave us some estimates and options based on the information he gathered when he initially came out. We are contemplating having them replace the system despite the cost, as Jimmy explained that the price will only go up and never go down. It was easy to find a time slot for the next morning with an arrival time between 8am-10am. James L. arrived on time and was courteous and thorough. He patiently took the time to review the issue and answer any questions that I had. What I loved: the ease of the automated scheduling through the website (there was no need to message back and forth like I did with other companies), free in-person consultation (other companies wanted to charge $100-150 service fee for just showing up), and James' friendly and thorough service. Give that man a raise! What could be improved: the ability to modify/cancel a scheduled appointment or a way to communicate to the scheduled technician. I found out I had a conflicting meeting with my appointment but had no way of adjusting it. I felt bad that someone would have to drive out, so I kept the appointment. Overall, Davis Ford quickly resolved my issues with great customer service.

She finally says "I'll have the technician call you with the price of the visit before you commit". 20 minutes later I get a text and an email that a technician was on his way in about an hour. I contact the call center again, and nothing. Another 20 minutes goes by and a technician finally calls me. Won't tell me the price of a standard emergency call, and tells me a tech is already on their way. I simply said "cancel it". If it's this difficult to get a simple price from them, I can't imagine how more difficult things go for them. It told me everything I need to know about how they handle their business. Avoid. So many other great options locally, they don't need your business.
