We got the buffalo chicken street tacos and the catfish street tacos and they were both amazing. The catfish was cooked perfectly and was so delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe to it. Very casual, kind of a sports bar but not hardcore sports bar. Feels more like a brew pub that has sports on tv than anything else. We would come back here again. I don't like to get that ink on my body and I told him I didn't want to get stamped. Ordered a drink was there for at least an hour before Manager came up to me and told me I needed to get stamped. I asked if I could get stamped on a napkin or something else because I don't want my body stamped. She said I had to have a stamp on my body. At that point, I objected as I've always been allowed to go without a stamp. I am 55 years old and it's obvious I am of age to drink. This harassment is ridiculous. I was banned from the establishment for my refusal to get a stamp and even if I was allowed back would never return. Keep treating customers like this kings and you'll be out of business before long.

The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back!

We were seated quickly even without a reservation around 5:30 this evening. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and a round of cocktails. They were served fairly quickly considering how busy they were at the time. For dinner I got the pecan crusted white fish and my friend got the blackened white fish. Both tasted delicious which was great. My wife got a Cesar salad and a loaded bake potato and it was also good. The service was great as well. The waiter and other staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly. The overall feel of the place is casual upscale. It's nice without being fancy. It has kind of a rustic vibe to it that is nice to look at. We enjoyed our experience here and would come back again when we're in town.

Well, a few years ago (bout Covid time, I'd reckon), the original/beloved owners sold to some.... less than american folks. And now, Bob's has gone the way of the dodo. No longer is the food consistently good. In fact, it's consistently disgusting. HOW do you mess up meatloaf and mashed potatoes. These ingredients seem to be the cheapest that can possibly be found in North America, and are now being served by Central and/or South Americans. I actually watched a hispanic guy and an asian murmuring between themselves trying desperately to understand what a grilled cheese sandwich is. REALLY!? We eventually go two pieces of toast with a slice of cheese between them. Most of our food was left on the table, as was our innocence at the idea that Bob's was ever gonna be decent food again. I will never, ever, spend another penny in this godforsaken NAFTA-laden gastro-hellhole, and if you were smart, you'd avoid it like the plague... which.. would... probably taste better than the meatloaf.
