Nothing to complain about here! This restaurant has been on our list for quite some time and we stopped in a few days ago when we were in the area. We were seated quickly and chips and salsa were brought pretty quickly as well. Our toddlers current obsession is skeletons and he was thrilled to see so much skeleton decor on all the walls. The menu is quite expansive so we got some recs from our server and ended up with the enchiladas fundidas and the 1942 burrito. The enchiladas were good, but a little underwhelming/plain. The flavors were great, just not what I was expecting when I ordered I guess? The burrito was enormous and delicious! Basically they put every ingredient they use for all the dishes they serve in this burrito and it was tasty! The horchata we ordered was good, but also not what I was expecting. It almost tasted floral to me rather than cinnamon-y, but it wasn't bad. All around a great experience. Stopped in on a Saturday evening and our group of two adults and two toddlers were quickly seated. Host/Hostess were very friendly and interacted nicely with the toddlers which made them feel special too! We ordered an Enchiladas Fundidas and a Burrito 1942. The Enchiladas were a little uninteresting (pulled chicken smothered in a little queso; however, the burrito was quite good and has a variety of chorizo, steak, chicken, shrimp and pineapple together with rice and refried beans. It was partially smothered in queso and partially smothered in a red sauce. Not at all spicy and very shareable for our group. This dish was much more the "star" of the meal. The toddlers ate chicken and fries (as usual for kid's menus), but one showed some interest in the burrito too and enjoyed the steak, chicken and pineapple. Recently moved to the area and husband and I are looking for a new go-to Mexican restaurant. We gave 1942 tacos and tequila a try on a Monday night, not very busy. We did not have to wait to be seated but it did take some time for our server to come around to ask us for our drink orders. The food did take some time to come out but was very delicious. I got the empanadas and my husband got the big burrito (forgot the name) all very good. We also had some margaritas which were delicious and did not skimp out on the tequila which we like. Our server brought us more chips and dip when asked. I give this a 4/5 just because of the slow service and having to wait for our drinks orders initially. We will be going back again. read more

A great Mexican restaurant in Beaver County. I have gone here 4 times and just thought to do a review. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and I love the new outdoor patio. The chips and salsa are great at the beginning!!! I have ordered a shrimp fajita before which was great, but my new favorite are the burrito bowl with steak. I do not eat cheese, black beans or lettuce, so this might look a little plain. I think it tastes great with a little salsa added. Everyone seems to always be in a great mood here too. read more

Detailed review: Pineapple Margarita w/ Jalapeno: 2/5 I added jalapeno to mine and it was way too much. There were a bunch of chunks of chopped up jalapenos and pineapple pulp floating around and with the extra thick straw, every sip was a mouth full of various things. I'm sure it would be better if you didn't get a flavor and I like that they have Tajin for the rim. Tortas: 1/5 The meat was a slab along the bottom that was only cut up half way so it was difficult to get a bite. The meat was well seasoned on it's own but somehow in the sandwich everything was just bland. The tomatoes were not even close to ripe and we're completely white, the onions were way too thick, and the lettuce was sad. Overall, really not a fan. Definitely will not be back. read more

Been meaning to make it to 1942 Tacos & Tequila for a while. Finally made it on a Friday evening, just before the rush. This building used to be a Pizza Hut and is a decent size, but there's not enough seating for all that come for dinner, so get there early. Being our first time, we made a couple mistakes. Basically, getting appetizers. My wife got the Street Corn and we got an order of Chicken Empanadas to share. These were both unnecessary after we got our entrées. Don't get me wrong, they were both good. The empanadas were really big and delicious and of course Street Corn is awesome, but given the complementary chips and salsa and the sheer size of our entrées, appetizers were not necessary. My wife got a basic shedded chicken burrito, covered in cheese, lettuce and sour cream. It was gigantic and she ended up bringing half of it home. I had to order the quesabirria tacos, as there are very few Mexican restaurants around here that have birria tacos. They were amazing! The slow cooked beef was extremely tender and the broth on the side for dipping was delicious! I did get a side of rice which was also good. We will be back and I'd like to try some other items off the menu that look good, but it will be hard to order anything other than the quesabirria tacos,...they were really that outstanding! read more

I love that this restaurant took the place of the old Pizza Hut that closed some time back. The inside has been remodeled. It looks nice and it was clean when we walked in. We were a party of four and were seated immediately. My grandma wanted a booth. The booths are very small. If you are a larger human, you will not fit. There's very little space in the booths. I felt kind of cramped. Service is five stars!! Excellent service. The drinks, five stars! I ordered the margarita with the corona beer in it, $10.99. Huge and delicious!! Highly recommend. It's strong too! Would definitely order it again!! My daughter got a lemonade and the kids chicken fingers with fries. She liked everything and ate most of it. We took the leftovers home for her. The chicken looked slightly over cooked to me but it was good. My grandma got fajitas and my mom got a chicken salad. They both liked their meals and finished them. My grandma got coffee and said it was good. I ordered the pollo ranchero. It came with chicken, bacon, mushrooms, and a delicious cheesy sauce. I asked for no beans or rice and they didn't give them. I've heard lots of good and lots of bad. Had to try it for myself. Arrived around 630. They said there was a 30 minute wait and only two waiters. Panic...do we go somewhere else or wait and see what happens? 5 minutes later they call is in and seat us. Immediately after that the waiter comes to get us drinks. All good!! The wait wasn't long at all and the waiter was very friendly and quick. It was very busy in there so I was actually impressed how good they were. For the food: We got mexi rolls appetizer - delish! My son got tropical burritos which were huge and he could only eat half, but they were good. I got some kind of chicken dish and it was ok. I'd def try the taco salad next time though. My friend got vegetarian tacos and liked them. When it came to desserts, they were out of the fried ice cream (disappointment:() and the sopapilla was not what I expected. What makes a Mexican restaurant authentic? This seems to be an age old question and only since I moved to Pennsylvania from Los Angeles have I even considered this question. In Los Angeles we were fortunate enough to have the most amazing Latin fare at our fingertips and there was tacos available on every corner. Beaver county does not have a large representation of Mexican restaurants so when I found 1942 Tacos & Tequila in my neighborhood I was happy. My family has been here a couple times and have tried a good number of items from their menu. Their menu is not exactly what I would consider classic Mexican restaurant fare but rather a more Tex-Mex style. The restaurant sits inside an obvious old pizza hut building and is nicely decorated. Service is prompt and attentive. The food is what I consider more Tex-Mex due to the over abundant use of the queso blanco sauce that seems to cover most everything on the menu. The food is still tasty and we have found things on the menu that suits all of our needs. I've been ordering the local mexican places slowly over the last couple months to try and find one i like, and theyve all been various degrees of meh or gross. I did not have high hopes but im so glad I ordered. I got the Quesabirria, because i was so excited to see it on a local menu finally. It was SO good. Their cheese and beef were both so flavorful and yummy. Only thing that was wrong is I ordered Mexi Rolls and they didnt come, but that could have been an uber eats problem and they refunded, so no big deal. I love that there is kids meals and fries on the menu, because my kiddo won't eat tacos and he loved the fries. I'll be ordering again soon. read more

A great spot in Rochester, right on 65. Plenty of parking. Restaurant space is nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Lots of great offerings as far as alcohol, especially margaritas. We got chicken enchiladas here and it was not really the type of food we typically enjoy from a Mexican restaurant - it had pineapple and ham throughout it which we didn't care too much for. We tried this place twice and it's not really our favorite with the tangy flavors we had. I'm sure many would enjoy this place but it's not really for us.
