It was the only option in the entire casino for a real dinner. It was good but I felt that I overpaid for the meal. There was a disconnect from the hostess and the kitchen, as they told everyone the wait was 1 hour 30 mins on a Thursday night. I took my chances and it was 15 mins. Imagine a Friday or Saturday night.

In the area for work and decided to stay at local casino resort, Belterra, where this restaurant named, "19," is located. The restaurant derives its name after the State of Indiana's place joining the United States. Out for steak and tonight's selection, the 45-Day dry-aged Prime Cowboy Steak Ribeye. The steak was presented with a very nice crust, which is better than Gordon Ramsey Steak in Vegas, in my opinion. It was perfectly seasoned and expertly broiled to the perfect temperature of medium rare. The bites literally melted in my mouth like butter, it was so tender. Unlike many aged pieces, mine did not have too much of the funky flavor usually present in some aged beef. It is apparent that the supplier knows what they are doing during their aging process. And not that I care to eat too much fat, but I must mention that the fat was so well broken down by the aging process that it dissolved in my mouth like cotton candy. The ribeye is served with a roasted half bulb of garlic. Plucked from its skin like jewels of pomegranate, the cloves paired well with bites. What a delectable dish! I was waited on by Rob, who did an excellent job in explaining the menu and provided an outstanding service. Thanks, Rob!

This was a Jeff Ruby's back a few years ago, we have eaten here several times on business dinners. It is a higher end restaurant so expect the prices to be there too. The steaks are very good along with sides, service is excellent and follow up is very good. You may have to sloooow them down just a little they do tend to be schedule oriented and will try to push each part of the service a bit too fast. The 19 is a great restaurant with all the expectations of a 4 star establishment. I do recommend you will not be disappointed.

Salon swimming in dressing, couldn't eat it

Well I been all over the world and in many countries, all over the United States, love my steak houses, and this one is just ok, the price was ok, the steak where seasoned good the atmosphere was up scale a bit, but I'm a normal person, wealthy but put my pants on the same way everyone else does, so not really to impressed, now why I gave a 3 star rating, my wife received her Salad and it was swimming in dressing, so much she couldn't eat it, she ordered her steak medium but was well done, over cooked, we ordered a baked potato to share, it was not done in the middle, was not good, and I would have thought we would have received bacon, green onions and all the fixings, but we received butter and sour cream, it ranks top 40 places I've ate. So not bad but, make sure the meal is served correctly, the staff was great!

Update: We came back to try it again. Much better! We were served quickly and had a great service. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Definitely better the second time! There were very few people seated in the restaurant when we arrived for our reservation. I was surprised that it took so long to get our drinks from the bar. We waited 15 minutes for a drink after ordering. My husband's steak was well done even though he ordered medium. That was disappointing considering how much she spent on the steak. Obviously we did not send it back due to time and I am one of those people that hates sending something back or complaining while in the restaurant. But when you are a restaurant that specializes in steak you would think they would be able to determine the temperature of a steak. Also he ordered the steak and lobster and received a tiny, skinny lobster tail eaten in two bites. I don't think that was worth the price. Service was very slow considering the fact there was no one in the restaurant but about five different tables. Definitely would not spend the money to go back here. For the price I could buy three nice meals somewhere else, gladly. Below is the photo of the steak cooked medium

WOW & WOW! MY NEW "SPECIAL OCCASION" DESTINATION!! An amazing dining experience, on every aspect. Make an easy, scenic 60 minute ride toward Vevay, IN and to BELTERRA Casino where you will find this gem. Go through the Belterra web to make reservations via Open Table.....fills up quickly. What especially makes this dining experience Five Star is the energy and attitude of their wait staff. They work together flawlessly. Our waiter, Andy, could not have made us more comfortable. Steaks are magnificent, scallops and salmon served in 1/2 portions which make it less pricey, yet still generous portions. Shareable sides and salads. Lobster bisque plentiful and so savory. Great warm breads...a crusty sour dough and a rye, with butters and herbed dipping oil. Your drinks and bread baskets are kept filled perfectly! Everything was done to perfection. I HIGHLY recommend you make this easy ride and enjoy. A few shops and a little gambling if you choose.

What is the dress code? Going golfing on the weekend and wondering if a polo shirt and shorts will be ok for dinner afterwards.

Dress code is casual. Jeans, shorts, suits all are present.

It's a nice hotel, and a pleasant steakhouse, but not sure it demands quite that much love. Most importantly, they don't know how to cook a steak. The flavor is spot on, you can really taste the wood fire, and the steaks are seasoned well. But the wife ordered a filet medium and it came out blood rare. My medium rare strip was presented rare, which I'm ok with, though it was noticeably still a bit more cooked than her "medium" filet. Having to return a steak to get it cooked properly, at an apparently well respected upscale steakhouse, is a disappointment, a big bump in the middle of a pleasant evening. We started with the oysters rock, which were quite good, and quite large. The french onion soup was a nice classic version. We split an heirloom tomato salad, and each still got two very large and thick slices of tomato, making the split a good sized salad for each of us. The balsamic pearls were a treat. An unexpected pleasure were the parker house rolls. Yum. Though between enjoying them, with the split salad, splitting the oysters, and the soup, we'd clearly over ordered! Repeal is a pleasant fine dining spot in the midst of the Louisville downtown action. They just need to learn how to cook steaks to temp before they rise to a truly 5 star destination.

The place is a good size, volume was nice, they have both indoor and outdoor seating along with the bar, too. Our waitress was super nice, allowed us to modify our drinks a little and our meal. The only downfall was the food took forever to come. We were there for about an hour and a half from start to finish. Drinks were good, strong. The "grilled" Caesar salad was not grilled but honestly i preferred it that way. We got the chicken meal and it was phenomenal. The chicken, the potatoes, and the sauce were so good. So I was very selective about where I made our reservation. The menu looked amazing and I was looking forward to splurging on what I hoped would be excellent steak and seafood. We arrived on time and were immediately welcomed by kind staff. I was pleased to see a birthday card on the table for my husband signed by all their staff, such a nice touch! Our waitress Page was wonderful! She was very friendly and gave thoughtful recommendations on the food selections. The bartender was also awesome and made a special mocktail for me and specialty drinks for my husband's birthday. I could tell he loved his job and went the extra mile to make us great drinks. To start I ordered the roasted pear salad and scallops with grits. Considering the restaurant was relatively empty, the food service was very slow. However, my starters were both great quality and tasty. The problems didn't start until it was time for our entrees. They didn't arrive until about 30 minutes after we were done eating our appetizers, possibly longer. It felt like forever. But we could be patient for quality food. Unfortunately, that isn't what we received. I ordered the surf and turf with filet and lobster. I took one bite of my lobster and told my husband I had never been served bad lobster until that night. It was by far the worst tasting lobster I ever had. I initially thought maybe it needed more butter and was just a problem with seasoning. However, I took one additional bite which was still awful and stopped eating it completely. My husband took a bite of his lobster and immediately spit it out complaining of a strong ammonia smell. He thought there was cleaning solution in it and told me to look up on Google what that might mean. When I did I was unpleasantly surprised to find it meant the lobster was "spoiled and unsafe to eat". I had wished I hadn't eaten any of it being 5 months pregnant! It was the worst feeling. On a side note, my asparagus was overcooked and my husband's medium rare steak was well done. The horrible smell emanating from the lobster completely ruined the rest of the meal for me. I took my filet to go, but threw it away once we were home fearing it might be contaminated. If this review was based on the service/staff bartender and general manager it would easily be 5 stars. The general manager who I believe is Emily was really kind about the bad bad experience with our entrees and did comp several items from our tab. However, I really just wanted an amazing meal and celebration for my husband. Instead I had to worry about spoiled/unsafe to eat seafood and if that might harm my baby. In a restaurant with prices like this one, you'd expect fresh seafood. It's hard to imagine the chefs could miss the horrible smell from our cooked lobster. I really hate leaving a bad review because the service and staff really were amazing. However, I've seen too many Gordon Ramsay shows where he inspects restaurant kitchens and am really strict about food safety and quality. It should be every restaurants main concern that their food is safe to eat. I would never choose to eat at a fine dining establishment which served spoiled/smelly seafood.
