Janet's Diner is a dandy little joint we just recently discovered in Dillsboro Indiana. It has a wide array of menu items ranging from Italian items like hoagies and pizza to burgers just to name a few. I went with my old favourite and tried their Jumbo Wings with Extra Hot sauce on them. The wings were a good size although I'd say "Jumbo" was a stretch. Still they were good and while the sauce wasn't necessarily "Extra Hot" it was pretty flavourful and did have a solid kick. A very good hot wing for a diner and while not as good a wing joing wing was good for what it was. I also got onion rings which I would say was average for onion rings. My wife got a burger and fries which she throughly enjoyed. The service was excellent and the restaurant looked great. High recommendation for Janet's Diner and I can't wait to cime back and try something else. read more

I happened to be traveling through Dillsboro at lunchtime and my coworker suggested this diner in downtown Dillsboro. On the outside it seemed small but was larger on the inside than expected, and had a very comfortable atmosphere. They had several specials on the eraser board to choose from and a very large regular menu as well. The food was seasoned perfectly and very tasty. The waitress was friendly, prompt and courteous. I will definitely keep this diner in mind when traveling in the southeastern area of Indiana. read more

This is truly the best diner I have ever been to. Service is good, food amazing, clean, cute, and reasonably priced. They think of everything. They have pizza, wings, sandwiches, burgers, salads, desserts. I tried the broccoli and cheese bites OMG. Just fantastic. I wish they were closer to home but will travel for this. read more

Once again, my food was good but the service was terrible. Once the server delivered our food we never saw her again. She not Once refilled our drinks and after 25 minutes of her ignoring our table we asked her to come back to our table... she never did. Eventually we walked up to the register without even getting a bill. The owner needs to realize the importance of getting enough servers to give good service during the lunch rush and not just use the tired excuse about how packed the restaurant is. You know it's like that every lunchtime so respect your customers enough to have more than one server during the lunch rush. I think it'll be quite a while, if ever, that I'll go back. read more

Pros & Cons: Pros: Nice clean environment, Decent food, Nice staff, Food and orders made in good timing. Cons: *Pretty Stupid Parking* Parking is terrible, shouldn't have to be boxed in or have to wait to get out when leaving. *OVERPRICED* $$$ Just about all the meals and food are way overpriced. Needs to lighten up a bit on prices, and be fair, not overpriced. *Staff-U-Know* I know people who use to work there. She was treated with disrespect and singeled out to point she had to quit. She is a super nice girl and deserves better. *Job Opportunities* They only hire people they know and friends of the family. So if you just so happen to live in this town and wanna job application to work her, better have some pull, cause you won't have a chance unless you do. I give it a 2 STAR Rating, cause yeah it may be a good environment and have okay food, but I wanna eat what I pay for, get me? If your gonna charge me okay food, that I should pay an okay price. My family has dined here pretty much my entire life. Every time I come to visit (I live 4.5 hours north near Fort Wayne) we would have breakfast or lunch or dinner with my entire family. This weekend I'm visiting my brother and other family, being nostalgic (my dad and grandparents are no longer living), my brother and I decided to take our children there to eat tonight. It was utterly the worst service I've ever received. We arrived at 615 pm. We put our order in at 630. We ordered 1 extra large pizza, a small pizza and an order of their garlic cheese sticks. For a table of 7, this is not a large order. There were 3 tables of 2 people and another group of 12 in the restaurant. We didn't receive our pizzas until 7:47 pm. Our waitress did not check on us for more than 45 minutes while we waited for our food with 3 young children at the table. They forgot our cheese sticks, then told us they were being made. They brought out something that appeared to be a sub. Then they said it was being remade and would be on the house in return for us waiting so long and them getting it wrong. The manager then came out and gave me a 15% discount card to use on the next visit. When I went to pay I explained that I live 4.5 hours North of here and could I just use the discount now. I was told if I used the discount card now I would be charged for the cheese sticks. So they added the cheese sticks and I saved a whole $3 on my bill. I am extremely disappointed in the service, in the rude response to what had already been a terrible experience. We will absolutely never be back, and every single family member and friend I have here will be told exactly what happened and how management and staff handled the situation. We were told our wait was due to the 12 top table (who already had their food when we came in) and a large number of take out orders. Given my 10 years in the food industry, I believe they forgot our order and then failed to provide quality customer service in response. My dad was Jimmy Dale, my Aunt is Sheila Goff (Baker), and I know you know who they are. Unbelievable how you treat customers, especially when more than 3 generations of our family has supported your local small town business. read more

We stopped in Janet's Diner last Saturday on our way to a friends house. First thing we noticed was the parking lot was packed! Always a good sign. Second thing I noticed was that on every table was a bottle of Franks red hot. Another good sign. The server was awesome. Very friendly and informative. I wish I could remember her name. I went with the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato with their house chili both were delicious and at a great price. The restaurants its self was spotless. VERY clean. We didn't make it to desert but we glanced around to several tables and they looked awesome. If your in Dillsboro or passing through do yourself a favor and stop by Janet's. read more
