I made a new patient appointment for a routine cleaning. I was called back for x-rays 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and then the hygienist made it her only job to ensure that I was a thousand percent COMPLETELY AWARE that I do not have healthy gums and it would therefore be a waste of her time to do a standard cleaning. I have some serious dental anxiety (which was explicitly communicated multiple times before being seen), and I started to cry and asked if we could just do a standard one, since I'd already worked up to coming in today, and she ran out of the room saying, "I'm not comfortable with this." The dentist had already said my teeth weren't that bad, but now you want me to leave and come back AGAIN for a deep clean? No, you people double-booked your appointments and I got stuck in the crossfire.
