Good mashed potatoes That's all I can say about this place. Lotta butter was used.

I hated this restaurant Unreal. Ordered a martini, it was half full. Ordered a carrot tart. Unavailable I specifically said I want I wanted to order the veal Pepperdale for dinner and I told the server to let the kitchen know that I wanted a Panna cotta for dessert that's a save one . He looked me dead in the face and said "i don't work back there" He continues to grunt, clear his throat and mumble whatever the hell he was doing... and then at the end of dinner presents the dessert menu and tells me that the Panna cotta is not available either After my husband said that he wanted to get the crème brûlée UN REAL. Typical Harrisburg Never again. Lousy service. Go over to Bacco Never had an issue there. I skipped dessert and asked for the bill Couldn't get out fast enough

Love the ribeye! I've only been in town two weeks and have eaten here 3 times! Yes, it's located in the Hilton, but very worth the trip. Have I mentioned the ribeye? Not sure how it's seasoned but it's perfect. You can add scallops or bacon or crab to it as well as other options. I also really like that side of the bar, it's located opposite their other restaurant and it feels like a different room all together. The bartenders were really attentive and had a great selection of cocktails and spirits. It goes without saying that I'll be going back, and you should too!

We come here every year for our anniversary, the steaks are to die for! The waiting staff is always polite and professional. It's a quite a warm environment perfect for special occasions. We will continue to come here every year as long as the service and food stays the same!

Higher end steakhouse if you're craving good quality steak, a bit in the pricier side. Service was good. Steak was great,l and cooked perfectly. The sides were delicious but small. Great ambiance for date night.

1700° Steakhouse exceeded our expectations! I wasn't too confident going in since the reviews weren't all great, but I was pleasantly surprised! We started with the bone marrow, which was good but didn't have a lot of marrow to scoop. Then we split the Prime Dry-Aged 40 oz. Porterhouse, prepared the 1700° way, with a side of mushrooms that were so buttery and delicious. My martini was perfect, and our waiter was incredibly kind, even comping our dessert--a wonderful crème brûlée--since it was our anniversary. If you're looking for a date night spot in the area, I would definitely recommend it!

Sat at the bar and ordered a wedge salad and a prime strip steak medium. Salad was pretty good and the eggs were a nice touch. Steak was tough and overcooked. I am suspect that it was really prime. Ordered it medium and it was inconsistently cooked. From medium well to well done. Didn't finish and sent it back. Didn't order again after the guy sitting next to me had his filet delivered and that was over cooked too. They took the steak off the bill. They probably should have offered to comp the whole meal. Service was troublesome as nobody came to check on me to see how the steak was. I had to wait at least 10 minutes before I had to flag someone down. Also had to ask for salt and pepper from another bar tender.

Best steak I ever had! The service was impeccable. Beautiful space. I have never been to a place with a tablet for a menu - so cool! You can scroll through and select a food item or drink and it will show you a picture (helps those of us unfamiliar with the fancy names of things). Not sure what wine pairs well with that item you selected? No problem, it tells you that too. Unforgettable time, will be back for our anniversary!

Shishito peppers and a marguerita pizza

Delicious! At the Hilton for a conference. Flying solo and had dinner on my husband; so I sat at the bar and ordered. The local beer was very good and paired perfect with the shishito peppers. That dish was amazing and surprisingly filling! Shishito peppers, mushrooms, tofu, radishes, some magical dressing, amazing!!!! Great service too. The pizza was spot on too. My eyes were bigger than my stomach

I feel like the past few months I've been searching out Steak Houses to dine. How can you be in a bad mood when you come to a steakhouse? It's celebratory and makes me a happy pappy. Just arriving in Harrisburg, I headed straight to 1700 steakhouse. The front desk person steered me to the dining room. It felt a little too stuffy so I asked for a high top at the bar. Once seated, the bartender came around the bar and gave me an iPad with both the cocktail and food menu. It's a 3 olive starter for sure so I asked for a Gin cocktail. The bar is substantial so I told him a few Gins I drink. He recommended a Gin made in Philadelphia. I'm down to clown, get to mixing buddy! Out was brought to me was a perfect Gin martini, stirred and not shaken. The Gin he recommended wasn't too heavy on the Juniper berries, it was a nice choice. The Rib Eye I ordered, I chose for a side dish the asparagus and egg dish. The chef made the yolk into a steak sauce. Very chef'd up and creative side that complemented the rib eye. The Rib Eye had a nice charr and flavor! The dish was cooked very well, the steak was a nice quality cut. My only issue? The bartender / waiter put me on the pay no mind list. I never heard from this guy after everything was brought to me. I could see him hustling behind the bar. I had to ask another waiter for something. 1700 Steakhouse was worth the visit and I will return. I'll sit directly at the bar next time.

My waitress (Danyell) immediately took my order of shrimp cocktail and the prime rib special. The food is where the experience soured. The shrimp cocktail (6 pieces) was cooked well and arrived chilled. The issue I had was with the garlic aeoli, cocktail sauce, and old bay seasoning dust that was generously sprinkled on top of the shrimp. Both sauces were under seasoned and the dry old bay seasoning added an odd texture and taste that detracted from th flavor of the shrimp cocktail. The prime rib was extremely tough, had no flavor, and was missing the cap. This was a big disappointment as I expected more from award winning chef Dougie Krick. The meal included mashed potatoes, however, as they do not offer a baked potato, I substituted for steak fries which arrived greasy. Total with tip was $85. Given the quality of the meal served, not a value. The server was very attentive and frequently refilled my drink without asking.

The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.

Some were great, some good and others should have never been called cheese steak subs. We moved to PA a few years back and have explored our community for the best places to eat. It was one day about 3 months ago, my wife and me had a hankering for a really good cheese steak sub. We punched in the request in our GPS and several places displayed upon the screen. After a quick check on reviews of the various locations, we settled on South Philly Hogies. Although the trip was 18 minutes away at 23 miles, off we went to try this establishment. We both ordered the California Cheese Steak and fries. We drove home and I can tell you by far this was the best Cheese Steak we had ever eaten. The bread it is served on is so soft and fresh and they have no issues with making it your way. I would be remiss if I didn't make mention that the staff are always nice and friendly. The quality and quantity that you get with your order almost seems impossible these days. We were so pleased that every time a family visits us here in PA, South Philly Hogies will always get a stop from us. We enjoyed every bite and discovered that we like it so much that as soon as we receive our food, we travel to the shopping mall and eat on the lot. We never make it home now with our food. All you hear in the car is lips smacking and people saying "um, um , um" I must also report that they are truly wonderful with regard to prices. I have paid upwards of almost $30.00 for the food we ordered from other establishments and the food was not that great at all. Not wishing to see price increased at this location but I would gladly pay a little more because they are that good. Thank you guys for doing such a great job with your service and your food. We will see you again as you are now on our once every 2 week visit list. For ever! Mr. & Mrs. Green
