Rather disappointed. The place was decked out nicely for the Holidays and the place was buzzing as soon as we sat down to eat. Food was okay - the beet salad was a highlight - but the service in the end was just bad. We mentioned that it was my Birthday when ordered and again at dessert but no acknowledgement from the server. We ordered dessert but the server never offered coffee. Once we finally asked for some and got it, we were sorry that we did. Coffee was stale (must have been the bottom of a pot that was sitting for too long). When I politely asked for replacements the server seemed to be put off by this. She returned pretty quickly but left the two original stale coffees on the table!! She left the bad coffees on the table while we tried to enjoy dessert and the "newer" coffee! Does that make ANY sense whatsoever??!! I took that as a "F-You" from the server to me for daring to complain. The right thing would have been to not charge us for the coffee. Wrong again. We got charged for them. The basics of restaurant service bit the dust right there. We got a half-hearted "Happy Birthday" as we got up to leave. By then it was too late. I doubt the Manager will even read this and that's a shame. We'd been in there a few times since they opened as we live in Quincy. Not much reason to return now. read more

Went for lunch with a party of 4 today. On Saturdays the restaurant opens at 11:30. The place was empty so we thought it would be great as there was no wait. Unfortunately the service was horribly slow. The food took well over 30 min to arrive at the table. Three of us got the burger which was dry and had no flavor. The steak tips also lacked flavor and the portion was a total of 6 small tips. The bread pudding was a huge disappointment considering the owners previous venture with her phenomenal cupcakes. 16c is a great addition to Quincy center. I've have been many times and every time is as good as the last. The calamari is the best thing on the menu, always hot, crisp, and never chewy like some other places I've been. Some of my all time favorites are the pepperoni pizza well done ( I add chili flakes for spice), the steak tips, and the newly added mac and cheese! I usually get the Greek salad to accompany them and it's so delicious, I love that they use kalamata olives and not black! The ice creams are always inventive and scrumptious, especially the Mexican hot chocolate. If you're looking for great comfort food with some flair 16c is definitely the spot to go. Where do I begin, first thing first the steak tips are to absolutely die for. They melt in your mouth like butter but before we get to the food let's just talk about the experience... once you walk in you are greeted as family from the start. Smiling staff members with an amazing bar. The food is delicious I highly recommended ordering the Brussel sprouts but you can't go wrong with the pretzel bites either, their honey mustard has to be home made it's just too good. Steak tips are to die for but if you aren't feeling them, get a slice of fresh pizza or scallops which are served over a delicious sweet potato hash that has to be made by the Gods because it is fantastic. If you have room left I recommend getting the bread pudding, a delicious scoop of ice cream served between 2 pieces of bread pudding... my mouth is watering just thinking about it, then (if your of age) wash it all down with a delicious and yummy espresso martini which tastes like cool whipped cream. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant, especially after looking at all the good reviews. It started at the bar with a traditional dirty martini that had no olives no olive juice and no vermouth he made it with just straight vodka. I had to ask him to remake it and it still was just subpar. We then ordered Buffalo wings and asked for them well done. First of all it was the sweetest buffalo sauce I have ever tasted? This place is great! The bar is always hopping, and it's small so you might not still have a place to sit. The food is consistently good, and I recommend the meatballs pizza and the arancini balls which are vegetarian and delicious. Ask for them to bring you tomato sauce otherwise you'll get a random tasting sauce to accompany the arancini. It's a cozy place in the heart of downtown Quincy. The Red Sangria is a must! Most sangria that you order tends to be too sweet, and overflowing with juices whereas 16C has a great red sangria that is made just perfect! My boyfriend ordered the Jack's Abby Seasonal IPA and said it was delicious, not too heavy and the waitress (Kristen I think) was very informative, polite and made the experience great. We ordered the traditional sheet pizza and wedge salad. Everything was perfect, the pizza was cooked great, thin crust, but with that oven baked delicious crust that was slightly fluffy but not doughy. The salad was fresh and they split it for us which was great without an additional cost!! We went a few months back for burgers which were excellent as well, and I hadn't had the pizza until last week, will definitely be swinging through for more pizza and sangria soon! Pest pizza I've ever had. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentines day and ate at the bar facing the kitchen. There's one guy that cranks out these things all night. The crust is the perfect softness, sweetness, and saltiness. The cheeses and toppings are so unique and really pair well together. I highly recommend the Mushroom Sheet. These are also very reasonably priced for the size. Every Friday my boyfriend and I order pizza for dinner from Five Star Pizza. Now we are ordering for carryout from 16C since the pizza is less expensive and 150 times better. Apart from the pizza the service is just okay. The hostess' are very grumpy and kind of short. The waitresses are very busy and check in infrequently. The interior design is nice and inviting. Overall great place to go. read more

I like this place but they have to figure out the rank/offensive taste in their beef. Burgers and tips are infiltrated with some peculiar carcinogens. Really bad toxic smoke flavor. I couldn't finish my burger it was so vile. It is a great atmosphere and nice wait staff but the beef patties and steak tips are horrendously bad with that awful, burnt taste. Fix it soon. I was at a friend's place in Quincy to watch the Boston Celtics game and decided to grab a pizza. Not being familiar with the area I went to Yelp to find a decent pizza and found 16C. 16C is located on a side street in Quincy Center so parking is scarce. The place was pretty crowded for a Thursday. I'd say 80% of the tables were being used and there was only standing room at the bar. I approached a waitress about where to get takeout when I walked in and she escorted me to a counter directly in front of their open kitchen. I saw some of the dishes coming out of the kitchen and said to myself "I'm coming back." The steak tips look delicious! I customized one of their long list of pizzas that they call "sheets" by adding hamburger to the pepperoni option. I worried that the pizza wouldn't be enough for three guys but it was bigger than I expected and the toppings were hearty. The pizza didn't blow me away though. The flavors were decent and I liked the sweetness of their sauce but the crust wasn't great. I'm giving this place 3 stars but that's only because more than half of their menu is pizza and I wasn't blown away by what I tried. I'm going back for the steak tips though! read more

Tried 16c last night for the first time. The exterior of the restaurant can be deceiving. The interior is beautiful! I dined with my boyfriend and our 4 month old daughter. The staff were outrageously friendly. Our server Kerrilyn was incredible! She was very informative on our menu (where there were a few ingredients we were unfamiliar with). Her drink suggestions were all incredible very different and tasty. We got the mussels app and the sheet pizza half meatball half pepperoni. All were delicious the pizza was out of this world good. Perfectly prepared and HUGE. Definitely crave worthy food here. The desert we got was a sampler of 3 different cookies and 4 house made ice creams. MIND BLOWN. be careful with kids and trying the Mexican chocolate ice cream it's got quite the kick lol. Good thing our daughter is still only on the bottle . We had one less than stellar experience with under baked pizza for takeout, but the manager personally called back and apologized and promised to pick up the tab the next tine we ordered. Can't say enough great things about 16C...I expected great things from Kerri from her previous venture "Baby Cakes I've been there twice so far and have been more impressed each time. The first was days after it's opening which normally a difficult time to judge, it was crowded and ran effortlessly. You could tell the staff were adjusting but service was great and the food was incredible. Second trip there was last evening was amazing ... Calamari was awesome, steaks tips best ever (recipe from her dads place in Southie) their pizzas are second to none. Good selection of beers and wine. Full bar. Great bar staff (John). 16C is walking distance for me, and a friend said it may be her new favorite place, so of course, I tried it out. It's nothing fancy, if that's what you're looking for. They have a huge pizza selection, and I saw a few of them that looked delicious. I got the fish special they had that night. It was cooked well, but it was in a shallow bowl of broth and it made the fish soggy. The food was on the up-sideof mediocre, and considering it's right next to Alba and Zef I expected better. Our waiter was polite, but we waited a very, very long time for our drinks. I should mention, I went there when it first opened and I'm sure there were some kinks to be worked out. I will definitely go back here ( mostly because it's right next to my building), but I would stick with the pizza. read more

This place was amazing! My friend and I had a pizza and it was delicious! They were able to make one pizza half and half. We ordered half pepperoni and half meatball both were very good! I think the pizzas would feed 2-4 people depending how hungry you are. We both took leftovers. I will definitely come here again when my sister comes to visit from out of town next week! I was very disappointed as the phantom gourmet has high regard for this Resteraunt. My husband was excited to take us until the wings were very fatty and just bland with sauce slathered over them. The fried calamari was the basil aoli Which was a congealed gelatinous mess with very bland flavor. Had to look at the menu again to determine it was suppose to be basil. My husband chose the eggplant Parmesan entree that showed up looking like lasagne with mushing eggplant. The most disappointing was the steak tips which were very small making it impossible for the chef to cook either of our orders medium rare or even medium. Arrived very well done. My wife and I bought in Quincy a couple of months ago and have been exploring the food scene lately. So far, 16C probably tops our list. We went on a Friday night and got immediately excited by the ambiance. Bistro style, with a bar and a kitchen side but a relatively open area. Our server was awesome, offered samples of a few beers for me and attended to every request. But the best part was the food! They had a charred broccoli with a Parmesan vinaigrette as well as a fresh mozzarella and tomatoes appetizers and we ordered both. Possibly the best apps I have had in the past year. We also ordered the pizza special, which was a pulled pork bourbon bbq pizza with avocado vinaigrette and pickled red onions. Yes, it tasted as good, if not better than it sounds!! And then we had the bread pudding for dessert... Oh, the bread pudding!!! I almost felt bad about the amount of food we ordered, but with every next thing we tried we couldn't contain ourselves! What a lovely addition to Quincy center! We had the pleasure of dinning with Cara the bartender who was such a delight -The place was packed and she took the time with each guest. She really made our first experience at 16C incredibly special! We both tried two different pizzas (they were massive!) - Clam, and Meatball. Both were excellent! Cara was kind enough to end our evening with a complementary blueberry tart of sorts with sweet corn ice cream. It was fantastic- hats off to the pastry chef! Had the most wonderful dinner with my family last night! Beautiful cozy space, fun atmosphere and excellent service. Went in to 16C for the first time last night and I can honestly say it will be one of my new favorite spots. The bartender PJ was great! I ordered the burrata and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the chicken wings and a burger and said both were outstanding. Everything tastes fresh and tastes home made. Loved it! read more
