Okay so Caribbean restaurants are a dime a dozen but good ones are few are far between. This place is excellent on so many levels. Now I've only ever done Uber Eats BUTTTTTTTTT the food is well cooked, well seasoned and it tastes delectable. I am so happy that I've tried this spot. The oxtails are great, the jerk pork and chicken is on point, the Mac and cheese is very great, the rice and peas is delicious too. I've yet to have anything from this place that was not good. The jerk salmon was on point as well. I would highly recommend this place because the food is perfect. If you want great Caribbean food then look no further. Honestly. read more

Food is delicious. Definitely try the oxtail with Rice and Peas! Very friendly staff! I was hooked thanks to a co-worker.

Their food is good. I tried their jerk chicken. Nothing to write home about. But their oxtail was finger-lickin good. Did you hear what I said? Finger-friggen-licken good. Their rice with peas is good too. It's similar to arroz con gandules. I don't think I'd get the cabbage again. I like cabbage but I've had better. There's a Jamaican spot in Bloomfield that had a mean oxtail with cabbage. That cabbage was sooo good. Nice n shredded. Cooked all wonderful. Ahhh.... I wanna try their goat. Goat is great. Forget whatever you thought about goat. Only listen to me! Get that goat. Or if you go to a Dominican joint like Mama's Elena's in Passaic, get that goat. read more

Amazing Jamaican cuisine. Make sure you come early on Thursday-Saturday to indulge in the jerk pork & jerk ribs. Unlike most other Jamaican restaurants I've gone to, this staff is very friendly!!! read more

Stewed chicken, beef patties, rice and peas!!! Love this Jamaican spot! Small eat out spot in town with full portions and food prices.

I grew up in a West Indian area of Brooklyn, and since moving to Hackensack I have missed, more than anything good home cooked Caribbean food. Today on a whim, I asked my husband to pick me up some stewed chicken and rice and peas since I saw he'd be by the store. He stopped in, said everyone was friendly, and made the order. A little confusion on his part because he'd never heard of stewed chicken and ordered chicken stew, but they figured him out and he came home with an incredible meal for me. I've lived in the area 7 years and never tried it, and now I will be sure to visit more often and try everything. The food is FANTASTIC the portions are huge! I had him try it and now he understands my love of the food. I had wanted roti, but unfortunately they were out, which makes me think its pretty incredible too. Definitely a place to visit, I cannot wait to try what else they do! read more

This is a hole in the wall place. We discovered it thanks to Yelp. Had the oxtails with rice and peas - oh my God, delicious. The oxtails fell right off the bone and were in a savory sauce. The sauce had a nice kick to it,so if you don't like spice, well then I wouldn't come to a Jamaican place. Lol There are maybe 1-2 tables to sit, but this doesn't have a "come sit and eat here" feel about it. Order and take it to go! Can look a bit intimidating from the outside, but definitely a must try if you kive in the area. read more

I have been to Jamaica and have tasted their cuisine and I can honestly tell you that this is as authentic as being in Jamaica as you can get. Their jerk chicken and pork are great! Just right amount of kick to it. They also serve curried goat, stewed beef and oxtail which is to die for! The place is small so, it's best to just order your food to go. Try the beef patties, too! read more

As someone with Jamaican decent walking in makes you feel like I'm back on the island with the tropical decor and relaxed atmosphere. Like the islands, the service staff is quiet friendly and quick to offer suggestions to patrons who may not be familiar with west Indian cuisine. Most importantly the few times I have went there the food has been great with all the traditional Jamaican staples such as oxtail, jerk chicken and beef patties. As well as some harder to find items such as Ackee (served all day!) and grape-nut ice cream. There are tables but its better as a take out place and I would recommend this establishment for someone in the mood for a little carry-out Caribbean dining. read more

Food was excellent. But service needs to be improved big time. Waited 10 minutes before anyone took my order. It was not busy and when the server finally came out three other people followed so I don't understand why no one could take my order when it wasn't busy. Then when they took my order it was like I asked them to do a thousand things. No smiles and talked very rudely. When I showed them the check in for the free drink. They said they don't do that anymore. False advertising. read more

I have been here on a few occasions. Sometimes the food is good and the service is good too, other times the service was horrible-it just depends on the person that helps you. (Note: they charge you extra to use your card- which they don't mention). read more

One of my favorite restaurants and the absolute BEST carribean restaurant in New Jersey period. The food is beyond authentic and delicious. Everything on the menu is a must try and their prices are affordable. The staff and owner are very personable. It's always one love when I go. Do yourself a favor and go visit them thank me later. read more

In true caribbean spirt you can feel and taste the love. The place is very clean and Romi is an excellent chef. My friends and I ordered the Jerk chicken, curried goat, ox tail stew and jerk pork (which was my favorite) but is only available on Fridays.. For sides we had coconut rice and i think sautéed cabbage, couldn't get enough. Romi let us try a couple of house made Jamaican chicken patties (beef was sold out) best Jamaican patty I ever tried. I will defiantly be back. They have one table, but I prefer to dine in because the owner and the really nice lady that works there (sorry i forgot your name) are very friendly. read more

Best Jamaican restaurant in the area. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. The owner is very professional and makes you feel welcome at all times. The food is great. My favorite is the stew peas. I know it's always gonna be ready every Friday. I also enjoy the fried dumplings a lot. I'll never stop supporting this business, really really enjoyed all the food. read more

Great food and full of flavors. I ordered jerk chicken, oxtails and curry goat, and they are all equally delicious.

Slow service great good. I would take home but they do have room to sit down. Ackee & salt fish was fresh and made they made me fried dumplings even tho that's mostly served for breakfast. read more

This is the best Jamaican food in norther NJ. We ordered take out Jerked Chicken, Ox Tail, Stew Beef and Beef Paties. IT WAS GREAT! The entire family loved it. We will be back again! It is a small place and take out is really the only option. I traveled 40 minutes and I am glad I did. read more

Parish is a restaurant that passes all flavor and authenticity tests. My oxtail and rice and peas lunch was delicious and flavorful and was a fair price. A couple of complaints: gravy dishes should not be served in a cardboard container. By the time I drove it home it had completely soaked through to the bag. Secondly, ONE plantain is not an acceptable portion. Lastly, I drove 30 minutes for goat and was told it wouldn't be ready for over an hour. The food should be available once lunch begins. Other than that, this is the real deal. Extremely authentic Jamaican food at a good price. read more

Nice place broad selection I had geek chicken dinner and beef patty and they were good.

First time having Jamaican food and it was bangin. I bought the jerk chicken and curry goat. Jerk chicken was my favorite. Real cheap for the big portion. Had to travel 30 mins to get here but will come again read more

Great take out place with friendly service. The oxtail was phenomenal-- Meat so tender, it fell off the bone. I look forward to try their other items on their menu! read more

Great little hidden gem. This place is legit. I've been wanting to order from here for awhile. The reviews were really good and it's near my house. But every time I was hungry and ordered out, I forgot about this place. So the other day I finally gave it a shot. I had the large portion of jerk chicken that came with rice and peas, sweet plantains and some cabbage salad. I also ordered two dumplings. It was more than enough for two people. The chicken was moist and the jerk was not overwhelming. It was really, really good. I can't wait to go back. Next time I am going to take the person at the counters suggestion and get the ox tail. She said that would be even better than the jerk chicken. Can't wait to try it. Run and get yourself some! read more

Their jerk chicken was good with a lot of spice. I've been looking for a place that does their jerk chicken like in New Paltz... unfortunately it wasn't the sweet, savory, saucey type of jerk chicken I was looking for but it was still flavorful and delicious. read more

Carribean food at its finest in portions and flavor! Not a fancy restaurant but food is good!!! Oxtail is soft and flavorful!

This is the best Jamiacan-style cooking this side of the island itself....Everything is authentic and cooked to perfection. The oxtails, cabbage, okra and jerk chicken are my favorites...but if you're adventurous, their authentic but exotic dishes offer a real Jamaican home cooking experience. Not a sit down restaurant, but a superb take out place....nice people as well... read more

The food was yummy considering it's coming from Hackensack. The large was a super large portion I managed to eat from it 3x's. I really enjoyed my meal. read more

A hidden gem. Both the oxtail and and jerk chicken are phenomenal. Space seems to have been redesigned, now take out only.

You need to stop reading reviews and try this place now! Great food HUGE portions surprisingly low price. I packed half of my large order for lunch and wanted to eat more but was too full from half. Definitely worth a try and you will be a returning customer! I had the ox tail and hubby had the jerk chicken. Both was verryyyy yummy! read more

The Oxtail is great and of course the beef patties with cocoa bread. Everyone is so friendly....They always get concerned when I order all the spicy stuff....lol the food is spicy but not kick your a$$ spicy. Just the right amount and so damn good. read more

The food was amazing and they give you large portions of meat more than the side order which is rare. Extremely delicious!!

14 Parish .... If you just left Jamaica, this place is going to be like a small slice of home, from Easter bun and cheese to oxtails to tamarinds. When I'm home sick this where my heart goes. The owner always greets my mom with a smile and even though she lives in Jamaica, she always looks forward to food from 14 Parish. If you know anyone that misses Jamaica, take them here but if your too busy, just order Uber eats. Our little piece of , I don't know how I would have survived those first winters without it. read more

Top notch traditional Jamaican Food...They always have what's listed on their menu. If you like jerk then you must try their jerk chicken my. The rice is always so moist and flavorful, unlike a lot of Caribbean restaurants. SUPERB service!! read more

Amazing beef patties and I just tried the Jerk Pork it was absolutely perfect great flavor with just the right amount of heat. I will definitely have that again soon. read more

Don't be fooled by the small space. This restaurant makes exactly what home cooked comfort food should be. Came here tonight because I was craving some home cooked island food, you know the stuff you can't get in resorts, and that's exactly what I got. The owner was very friendly and the service was excellent. I got the jerk pork with rice and peas - honestly outta this world! This place came highly recommend by a good friend of mine, and I'm so happy I came. You'll love it! One love! read more

Went back for the jerked chicken. Wow just wow. With the oxtail gravy this was a fantastic lunch, especially for $7.50.

Tried 14 Parish kitchen for the first time, its really good. The food was amazing, the prices were fair, and the portions were large. I went at lunch and got the jerk pork. Great choice, my co-workers said the jerk chicken was really good too. The staff was nice and offered to put sauce on my boil food, I wouldn't have known to ask for it. BTW, boil food is boiled dumplings (dense and chewy), breadfruit, and green banana served instead of rice in the lunch special. I will be going back to try the other menu items shortly. Really authentic cusine. read more

I love jerk chicken! The people working here are very friendly and nice. The food is amazing, I tried their curry goat and cow foot, and of course always ordered the Jerk chicken. Highly recommending when you're in the mood for some jerk chicken. read more

This place gets packed and if you not aware ppl will skip you. I always order the BBQ/Jerk Chicken which is so flavorful. Comes with cabbage and rice and peas. The chicken taste grilled like they cooked it on a real BBQ grill. I loved it. I also ordered the brown stew chicken which was alright, I had better being that my parents are Jamaican so it's hard to top my moms. But yeah Definitely swing by and get you a plate if you are in the area. read more
