My girlfriend had the halibut, I had the seafood pasta dish with shrimp, scallops, halibut with a light alfredo sauce and we were both blown away. The presentation was fantastic, the dishes came out piping hot, the fish incredibly fresh, the meals an explosion of flavor. A must when passing through the quaint town of Florence. read more

My wife and I spent seven days traveling up the coast and this was the ONLY bad place we encountered. The service sucked. I observed two employees who seemed helpful and attentive but the rest will ignore you. Their description of the lemonade sounded good so that's what I ordered. It was terrible and tasted like it was made with Real Lemon Frozen concentrate. How do you screw up lemonade? It was a beautiful day and we didn't want to spend two hours in a restaurant so we ordered what we thought would be quick. Nothing is quick in this place. The florentine clam chowder was awful....and I'm not a picky eater. It was watery, had two small bits of clams and had a funky flavor. We ordered crab Ceasars thinking they would be quick; they weren't. After about a twenty minute wait, we watched our salads sitting on the order counter for ten minutes before they were served. There were several chunks of crab shell in our salads that we didn't discover until it was in our mouth. It tasted okay but it's pretty hard to screw up a salad. Most, but not all, of the staff in here are stupid. We've been to Florence many times and we know there are other very good restaurants in Old Town. Don't waste your time in this place when you can be enjoying yourself elsewhere. read more

After reading all the good reviews, we decided to get reservation 2 weeks in advance and try this restaurant. Being from out of town we were delighted to get a table by the front window overlooking the river. We arrived right when they opened at 4 pm. Unfortunately for us, we waited for our food for over an hour. Several people arrived after we did, ordered, ate and left before we even got our food. There were 4 of us and we were getting quite frustrated by this time. By this time I finally asked a waitress why we didn't have our food. It arrived shortly thereafter. The clam chowder was only luke warm when it should have been hot. It was, however, tasty. . We all had cod which was encrusted in way too much batter which was quite hard to cut thru. My particular piece of fish was an inferior cut and the dark color made it a bit less desireable. I ordered a lemonade and of all things it came carbonated.. So, I ordered a coke which seemed to be watered down. We paid $4.00 for a small plate of bread. (Should have come with the meal) We did notice that many of the other customers seemed to be local and they were catered to before us. The restaurant was quite loud, however the place is small and voices carried thruout the building. The ambiance of eating in an old railroad depot was nice, but for the reasons given above, we don't plan to return. read more

I ordered 2 Rueben Sandwichs to go. I requested that they leave off the Russian dressing. The fellow who took the order was the busboy and he carefully wrote this down. When I opened the package up with the sandwich in it it was totally soggy on seriously BURNT toast slathered in Russian dressing. It was disgusting! I will NEVER order anything from them again. I should have learned from the previous time that I ordered a pizza to go...it was soggy and stuck to the cardboard box. This place is alway busy and crowded I cannot imagine why!!! read more

Definitely a bar scene but the food and service are tops. Manicotti Florentine has the best pasta I have ever tasted. The seafood pasta (3 large shrimp, scallops halibut) all fresh and mild in an Alfredo sauce rich and creamy (and I love Alfredo sauce). Service is fast and friendly. We will definitely be back to taste other items. A fun and lively dinner. Prices are reasonable for the quality. read more

good place, bistro like, European like, garden patio, very pleasant, food is real italian

Cozy, lovely bistro. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was OK (got the salmon). Good wine selection.

Excellent food and fun atmosphere! We ate here while on vacation. Tried another place that was booked, and so grateful! Good service, food was all great, and we noise level was such that we were able to visit with no trouble! Wish we lived near enough to go back! read more

I am new to Yelp and this is my first review. I actually wrote this in my journal August 22, 2012 as a warning to myself, but it should be shared with all! I In Florence OR for a night while on the road and hoped for a good dinner with family to end a perfect day. Selected RESTO and I am very sorry for doing so. All food was marginal; shrimp scampi; encrusted parmesan halibut; chicken pesto. Rosemary artisan bread required two reminders to wait staff, water was apparently rationed this evening in Florence as it was granted grudgingly and infrequently. Service was slow, sullen and totally ineffective. During our meal garbage bags were brought out through the dining room in plain view of patrons. The music was turned off promptly at 9PM and we finished dining with the accompaniment of the freezer cooler running at high whine, the dishwashers cleaning up and the wait staff taking turns counting their money at the end of their day and visiting the toilet before they left the premises. It was clear that we were among the last patrons to arrive but we came in good faith that we would be served fairly but this did not happen. We would have preferred to have been told that the restaurant was closing within a half hour of our arrival than to have been treated the way we were treated. In summary, food was marginal, price was too high, service was entirely too low and the silly grin of the owner or manager orchestrating this entire debacle was the ironic and moronic exclamation point on this entire, very unappealing dining choice. Don't even consider RESTO as a dining option-it sucks. Dairy Queen would have been a better choice all around. read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at 1285 Restobar this evening. We started with an amazing caprese salad and rosemary bread. My wife had pesto linguine with seared scallops that were prepared perfectly. I had chicken parmigiana that was very good. They were very busy but our waiter was attentive. Highly recommend if you are visiting Florence! read more

Fantastic service! Very accommodating with animals on their patios (front and back). Came out with ice water for our pups. The food was phenomenal. I highly recommend Restobar! read more

Mediocre food with poorly trained staff. You'd be better off going elsewhere. Pizza is decent though.

Since this restaurant had good reviews, we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. It had a nice, bistro, atmosphere and the food was very good. The Clam Chowder was excellent, the Wild Alaskan Salmon was very good. read more

My daughter found the restaurant across the street - same owner - totally booked. We loved this place - would have been a "5," but... The service was very slow. Seemed to be a little understaffed. We all tasted each others food - excellent! And great prices too. Wish we lived local! read more

I had a sirloin steak with fresh picked chanterelles and side of pasta. My steak and pasta cooked to perfection. My husband ordered a pizza, nice light, thin crust with a flavorful sauce. Meal was complete with two pieces of the Tiramisu to go. The Tiramisu was heavenly. Made with cake, NOT lady finger cookies. We will make Florence a destination to revisit this lovely dining experience. read more

The food was great, prepared well and served hot. Our only issue was the service. Our server was nice, friendly and helpful. Problem was it took a long time after being seated to get the server to us. Again after we were served forgot our water and took quite awhile until we had a chance to ask again. When we got our check and they went to process it it was at least 5minutes before we got our card back. This is a great place if you are not in a hurry. Prices were acceptable great apps! We will be back. read more

Went to Florence for a day trip and stumbled upon this place for lunch. Cute little atmosphere with open kitchen, I always love being able to watch my food being prepared, it adds to the experience. Amazing food! Because of the open kitchen the restaurant was immediately filled with a delicious garlic smell when they put on our steamer clams. When they came they were awesome, freshness and flavor were both perfect. My boyfriend ordered a pizza with garlic Alfredo sauce and I got a burger, both were awesome! Excellent service and great value. We will definitely go back next time were in town. read more

Always, always good. Have been there every time we go to Florence! And yes we will be back soon. Love the pizza, had the rueben which was good. The seafood fettuccine delicious! GOOD beer and wine too. We don't bother going anywhere else! read more

Absolutely amazing! I don't usually give 5 stars for any restaurants but they absolutely deserve it. The pricing was right on point (if not lower than usual), the staff was amazing, and the food was amazing! I give major props to the chef as well, very friendly and outgoing. read more

This restaurant couldn't be any nicer. We walked in with or two boys and they moved tables around to accommodate us for dinner. The menu has something for everyone. The food was delicious and was very reasonably priced. I would absolutely return! The singing cowboy was a treat! Our 8 year old is now hooked on " cowboy " music!! read more

Unable to get into Waterfront Depot, they recommended that we try their Restobar, across the street. Not disappointed. Excellent food, service, and value. Would definitely recommend. read more

Great food, well priced. We had two different Halibut dishes and each was terrific. The service was also good. The pizza "looked" good and we may try that if we get a chance before leaving town. We are on a road trip and happy to find this one. read more

We had happy hour one evening, then had to go back for dinner a day later. The food is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the service was super! They have a well-trained wait-staff .... the experience was great! Cannot wait to revisit on our next trip through Florence. read more

After failing to get reservation at the highly rated Depot they recommened this place- same owner. The food was very good and the service acceptable. We were there on Prime Rib night and were very statisfied with the meal and pricing. We would go back any time were in the are. read more

Had a great lunch here! The food came out quickly and hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals - pizza, pasta, sandwich, salad. We will be back.

We were a group of ten who had reservations for a midweek lunch. The restaurant had not saved tables or set them up when we got there. We seated ourselves and added tables as they came empty on the patio. Eventually one server came and took our orders. Other tables came, ordered, ate, and left while we waited. One hour and ten minutes later our food arrived. We got water once. Some orders were mixed up and some came very late. The food ranged from passable to good, but the wait was ridiculous! No bills, so our server had to take the payments one and two at a time from her memory and run to the register. It took quite a bit of time to check out. I understand this restaurant was just sold to new owners. I will not be back - there are too many other good places in Florence who care about their customers and want to keep them. read more

Had the special grilled salmon sandwich--awesome piece of fish for a lunch menu Also had the oysters--wonderful with a light breading which didn't detract from the oysters. We've had many other meals here and have rarely been disappointed! read more

Pasta is good, all else is average at best. Clams were bland. Neat romantic couple's window seating

Made reservations a week ahead for a birthday party with 10 people on a Sunday, then called again to ask for 2 more people. Very polite, helpful host. Asked that the check be given to me to avoid discussions. Our waitress Holly was made aware. She was very gracious, we had a long wait before ordering and that was ok, since people were from out of town and visiting. Several people were late. The food was excellent and moderately priced, service great and it was a very busy time of day. It was a very memorable occasion because of choosing Resto Bar. Just do not expect to be in a hurry. read more

Had the Herb encrusted Halibut with incredible shrimp and caper sauce! Absolutely scrumptious!

Ended up there quite by accident. Food, service and atmosphere all were terrific. They were very busy, but our food and drinks were served hot & in a timely fashion (not rushed). Will return once again!! read more

Friendly staff, great food. Crab encrusted salmon and crab ravioli were both delicious. Generous portions. Like sitting on the back patio even though it was a bit chilly. The staff offered blankets which was a nice touch. Would definitely return. read more

Had a nice dinner on a recent trip to the Oregon Dunes. Had pesto pasta with shrimp. Creme Brûlée was very nicely done.

What really blew me away was the service! We arrived cold and wet from clamming on the beach, with several wet and bedraggled children, and the welcome we received was warm and refreshing. Then came the food - SO GOOD! I'm a pizza aficionado, and the crust here was better than any other place I've been to in recent history. Maybe had something to do with how wet and hungry we were, but the pizza was to die for! read more

Ahhhh. Great food. Great service. Our waiter, Mike, was very accommodating, kind and friendly. If we return to this area, we would definitely eat here again. read more

Took a party of 11 in there on a busy Saturday night of Memorial weekend. The service was top notch and the food was off the charts. Kurt and his team do a phenomenal job. I had the seafood pasta, it was full of sea food and had great flavor. Everyone raved about their dinners all weekend. I will definitely be going back soon. read more
