The 1285 special pizza my son in law loved, the portebello mushroom ravioli was awesome. Don't order the special prime rib, it was cut and then fried on a flat top...not good at all. Overall a very nice little place in a quaint downtown setting. We will be back. read more

One of the best meals and service we've experienced in a long time. Mike, aka Rodney, was awesome at pairing a great wine with our scallops and clams. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching servers that genuinely enjoy what they do and and know they're serving great food and great drink. read more

This was our third trip. We are from Corvallis I and planned a Valentines weekend for my wife and I around dinner here. We first came here for pizza and it continues to draw me back. A crisp crust topped with tangy sauce and plenty of meat. My wife had the lasagna. I am not a lasagna fan but it was ok. She really liked it. The best part of the evening was the owner Curt and his staff. Although we have only been here three times Curt recognized us and met us like best friends coming for a visit. We were there with out a reservation, I did not know they took reservations. They squeezed us in and we had just ordered when a party sat down next to us and the lady was swimming in perfume. Both my wife and I are sensitive to the organic solvents used in most perfumes and were getting so sick we were going to leave. We explained our situation and were promptly moved to another table. This place is worth the 2 hour drive from Corvallis and we will continue to "drop" in for lunch and dinner. read more

Atmosphere was good; service was great, very friendly, but the food was outstanding. My wife had the parmesan-encrusted halibut; I had the salmon special. Prices were reasonable, but it was a superior value because the food was so good. We're near the end of a long trip, but this was the most memorable restaurant experience. read more

1285 Restobar was the perfect place to warm up and have an amazing meal after spending the afternoon playing on the Oregon coast and shopping the old town shops. We came here because of the other positive Yelp reviews and the variety of food which includes seafood (for me) Italian (for my wife) and pizza (for the kids). The waitstaff wear black pants and white shirts which gives it a nice dressy feel even for a casual restaurant. At first glance the place looked full but although it was busy they seated us right away in a dining room that wasn't visible when we first walked in. Our family of 6 ordered a little bit of everything: the Clam Chowder (the best I've ever had), Herb Encrusted Halibut, Chicken Parmigiano, a personal cheese pizza with a side Caesar salad, Meat Lovers pizza and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Absolutely everything we ate was delicious and hit the spot with everyone in our family. The service was perfect, Brenda was so friendly and took excellent care of us. The food arrived quickly and we always had full drinks. Now that we've found 1285 Restorbar we will definitely be back. read more

Landlubbers delight! Grilled oysters and service was a superb welcome to the Pacific Coast for us Coloradans. So glad Oregonians don't keep this gem secret. read more

My second visit to this restaurant, and it was a HUGE disappointment! I had very few options for a dairy-free entree, so I had the Scallops Antiqua. That is a very SOUR white wine sauce---it had lemon in it and was so tart I couldn't eat it. The scallops were cooked very well, but for $15, only 5 scallops, an inedible broth, and a few pieces of rosemary bread, it wasn't a good value. I didn't enjoy my first visit over a year ago, and was so disappointed this visit, I won't go back again. read more

Decent food overall. Burger is excellent. Pizza is great. Seafood is average. Staff was nice enough. Prices were moderate. Might try out other dining places in the area before coming back to this one. read more

Food and service is wonderful, but boy is this place noisy. For that reason its A-OK.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Restobar! It was our first time here and it was top notch from the service, quality of food, and overall experience! The salads were fresh and the pizza was incredible. We loved the thin pizza crust because it allowed the flavors of the meat lovers pizza to stand out. The calzone and spaghetti on the table next to ours looked incredible. We would definitely come back the next time we are in town. The outdoor seating was an added bonus. read more

Fun spot with personable staff offering great service. The cheeseburger was one of the best we've had. I think it was the flavor of the high quality meat combined with the garlic aioli served on the European Bun. We also had the pizza margarita. It was good but needed a little more sauce and a little less cheese. Nice tap beer selection as well. read more

I'm not sure what the food even tastes like because we are waiting for our to-go's; however, I will already give this place the highest rating for its customer service. They were unable to accommodate our unrather large family 1 hour before closing, understandably, but they offered us to-go pizza and we waited outside while their server, Rylan, offered all of us blankets and hot beverages while we waited. Just the smell of he restaurant was incredible, so we can't wait to try the food! read more

super, I would highly recommend eating here. prices were fantastic and they gave my mom and I a ton of delicious food. the pizza was thin crust with fresh mozzarella which is exactly how I like it, and their pasta was to die for. we come through Florence every year and we will be coming back here from now on ! great service and friendly staff as well. thanks ! read more

I can't really review the food because the service was so slow that for the first time ever I had to "walk out" on a tab. When we first arrived we were first greeted about 5 minutes after we walked in. We were seated in the back patio area where it took another 10 minutes to get water an our order taken. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The appetizer took 15 minutes to come out so by this time we had spent a half hour in the restaurant. The scallops that we got were good. After sitting there for a half hour and not having received our entrees and seeing that a couple that came in 15 minutes after us received all of their order, finish eating and start to leave and a large party of 6 that came in a half hour after us that ordered the same entrees as us along with pizza we asked the waitress what was going on. She told us that our food was on its way. Then when confronted with the fact that the two other tables had received their food she told us, and I quote " it's because you ordered an appetizer, so that came out, so then your food comes out after." After that we decided to leave. We got up and I told the waitress that we were leaving and that we wanted to pay for what we got. That's when she checked on the ticket in the kitchen which turned out wasn't even started! What a waste of time!!! I have never had such poor service in all of my life and that's not a joke. Don't go here unless you plan on making it at least and hour and a half dinner minimum. To boot, we did see another couple walk out on their tab. I'm sure that it was for the same reason. read more

Awful. Signs hanging outside said they're known for their service and pizza, both were terrible. It took an hour to get the pizza and it was the middle of the afternoon and the restaurant was less than half full. Our server tried her hardest consistently checking in with the kitchen who mocked her in front of us. When we finally did get our pizza it was so bad we didn't even take the leftovers. Will never go back. read more

Amazing food. Sit out on the back patio! Mike is an amazing waiter!! Definitely make a stop here.

Pizza standards have definitely dropped here over the past couple of years. Used to be a favorite spot while visiting Florence but are last visit we ordered a pizza and got a dry bland crust with tomatoes sauce after a 40 min wait. Service was okay but food was terrible. read more

Great Italian food, OK prices. Great service. The only thing is food can take quite some time to arrive, but you're slightly pacified with bread while you wait. Pizza available for the kids, but there is not a cheap kids menu. I'd go again with young adults upward. Nice atmosphere. read more

Great location, beautiful view. Food was good, but very small portions, and very expensive for what you get. Husband had Chicken Cesar salad, which didn't have a single chicken tenders worth of meat on it, (more like side salad size), but still $14!!? I had the Parmesan Halibut which was very good, but again VERY small portion for the price. Service was friendly and served us quickly, but we will dine elsewhere next time. read more

We came there on a Saturday night before Mothers Day with my wife and two children to celebrate her day early. We were seated quickly, which was nice, but that is where it all ended... My son ordered a specialized mini pizza, chicken and BBQ that arrived with no chicken or BBQ sauce at all. To make it right they offered a new pizza but it would have taken long so they just gave him some sauce on the side and a side of chicken to throw on the top. My daughter ordered pasta and she said it was good. My wife ordered pasta that arrived wrong, wrong dish altogether so that had to be redone. When the correct dish arrived it had no bread. (She likes her bread :( ). Then her cocktail that she ordered arrived incorrectly as well, it was not as described on the menu. (We did not even bother bringing that up). My chicken Marsala arrived fine, but it was a bit bland. I am not a fan of Italian food but I love this dish normally, however this was the worst Marsala I have tried. My salad came out wrong and I only received my drink after further inquiring on its whereabouts when the neighboring tables drink arrived ahead of mine that was ordered after. A manager did come to investigate the problems and offered a free dessert which was nice but that's it. In my opinion several of these meals should have been comped because of the fact that we experienced one issue after another. I paid the full bill. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be eating there again. read more

This place was perfect for lunch. My friend and I had our dogs with us and the patio was the perfect spot. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. The philly cheese steak was toasty and delicious. The bruschetta was so good! I'd come back just for the bruschetta. read more

We neglected to make a reservation at the Waterfront Depot and we were too hungry to wait two hours. Instead we walked across the street and had a fabulous meal at 1285 Restobar. We sat adjacent to the kitchen and loved watching the two chefs carefully prepare meals. The entire staff - waitress, bus person, and both chefs were customer service focused, positive and helpful. The cioppino, margarita pizza, seafood pasta were all excellent. We look forward to another visit to the coast this summer with stops at 1285 Restobar, the Waterfront Depot and the owner's new place scheduled to open in a week or two, Spice. read more

So if you are not a local......I would pass on this one. We just came into town and were told by the manager of our hotel.......try this restaurant! On Wednesday nights they advertised outside on a large sign....prime rib special tonight. We walked into this very small cozy spot and ordered prime rib and lamb shanks....waitress came back and told us they were out of both prime rib and lamb shanks. We then ordered two other higher priced items. While we were waiting for our dinner an older single gentleman walked in and sat up at the bar directly behind us. The bartender acknowledged him by his name and then gave him a special Chianti wine to try.The gentleman asked if there was any prime rib special left and the bartender, to my surprise said yes. I thought..surely that he would be back and tell this man they were out of the special. Instead in about 5 minutes the bartender brought out the old gent's request, even prior to our meal arriving. I got up and flagged the waitress down and asked her to check why he got a prime rib and we did not......she was surprised and headed over to the manager. I could hear them talk as they were looking at us in this small Resteraunt and finally she came back and told us that they offered him the end piece....not true. I asked then why was I not offered that? And that it does not look at all like the end piece of the prime rib. In fact it looked like a pretty generous medium rare piece. All she could say is she was sorry. We finished our meal....and asked for our bill. We were not looking or asking for a comp meal or any discount....but for the manager to just explain the situation better...or just apologize. It was very apparent to us they were catering to the locals. As soon as I got back to my hotel...I called hotel manager and told her the story.. I only wanted her to inform the owner of how we felt. It was quite apparent that the owner was not there that night.By the way. This manager of the OLD TOWN INN Hotel was wonderful. We could not believe the service and how nice the rooms were for only $89. Recently rehabed with new jewel tone paint , carpets, microwave, refrigerators, great sheets and central air. We will be back since we drive up the coast from Southern California every year to Vancouver Island. read more

Very good food and service. My girlfriend and I ate here a few days ago and ordered up a little bit of everything because it all sounded so good. Nothing disappointed from the crab cakes, clam chowder, salads, mushroom raviolis, cioppino, Greek pizza to the desserts we had a table full of delicious food. The waiter brought me a finger bath for the cioppino which was needed because I was really digging into it. We had a really fun romantic time seated in a cute corner table right by the window for an early Sunday night dinner on Fourth of July weekend and there was no waiting. We ordered a lot and everything was brought out in perfect order and time. We enjoyed the leftover pizza on Monday for lunch at work and it reheated very well in the toaster oven. Initially it was the smell of the pizza outside that made us choose this place over the selection of other great restaurants in Florence. We will come back again and maybe sit close to the kitchen so we can watch this great food being cooked before us and maybe learn a thing or two. This place reminded us of Sharks in Newport which is also very highly recommended. Good job 1285! read more

I have eaten here a number of times and it was always my favorite place in Florence. However, I became very ill after eating the Ahi Tuna salad. Found out they had a change in cooks from last time I was there. I would recommend folks stick to the pizza and not eat the fish here. Actually, my gastro doctor told me ahi tuna has to be done right and best to only order it from a 'real' seafood place with a true chef. read more

Sadly not good. In the past this was our go to restaurant in Florence. We would drive to Florence for a meal at our favorite restaurant. (Bridgewater is a close second!!!). The last two times we have noticed the quality of food at the restobar going down hill and the service not so hot) so the Bridgewater has gotten more of our business. We were in Florence vacationing this past week. And again we're deciding between the Bridgewater and the Resto for lunch. We decided to give Resto one last chance. Tables were available, we were seated immediately at a 4 top and then were moved to a smaller table. This table needed to be cleaned so we sat and waited. Next they took our order. A couple of beers, a coke and a Diet Coke plus bread with garlic pesto. Next we ordered a large pizza and calzone. Our sodas were brought out but our beers were forgotten twice. The bread never arrived until our pizza and calzone came to our table. The table we were sitting at was too small so we were moved again. They set the pizza down and then the calzone. Immediately the calzone looked awful. It was undercooked and mushy. The dough was not golden instead white in color. We said something to the waiter he was shocked. (He had just brought this to our table.... did he not look at this?). By this time my husband had taken a piece of pizza off the tray. Exactly the same. Floppy, mushy, a liquid drenched the dough. We showed the waiter and he said just a minute and went to get someone. Either the owner or manager came out. Without us saying anything this individual asked the waiter if he actually served this. He stated the calzone was inedible. Then he looked at the pizza and shook his head. He instructed the waiter to have our food remade and check the dough. He said something about yesterday's dough. The calzone came out hot, crisp on the edges and tasted ummy! An hour and 45 minutes had gone by and we needed to go. The pizza then came out and was a little better but something was not right with the dough. We decided to ask for our pizza to go and leave the restaurant. When the waiter returned with the pizza box he gave us our check. We were charged full price for everything! The service was poor, the food not good, and the price charged was excessive. Please Restobar get your act together. You use to be SO good. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. First let me says, both my sisters and my family have been coming here since before my daughter was born who is now 15 1/2, and have LOVED it every year until now.. It is a tradition we look forward to every year on our vacation. Let me be clear...our server and the other employees were wonderful and did their job to the best of their ability. I am not sure when ownership changed but the lady who presented herself as the owner( after we requested to speak to her) is not the owner we have dealt with in the past, and she was the issue. Our drinks and apps came out as expected. 45 minutes after we placed our order, my brother in law commented that it was taking much longer than normal. Another 10 minutes or so after that, our server told us three of our pizzas would be out shortly, but one had been burnt and they were re-making it. Ok fine. However, the pizza they placed in front of us was also burnt and was not good. After a few our server came back and we showed it to her. At that point she offered to re-make it but taking into consideration how long we had already waited we chose not to because we were very Hungary. In retrospect we should have because it was really uneatable. 25 min later the remade burnt pizza came out and our server informed us she would take 10% off the burnt uneatable one and the remade burnt one. After thinking about this and having parents who owned a Restaraunt while growing up and working as a server many times in my life, myself and the rest of the table decided that was really a slap in the face. Our server asked what we thought would be fair ... We stated that we thought one of the pizzas should be comped. She then went to the owner whom I could see totally shaking her head no. When she came to tell us we asked to speak to the owner. We she came over we explained that the food was taking so long and coming out burnt and felt it fair that she remove one of the pizzas( we had ordered 4 so the meal was far from being free). She said that was not possible and that she had offered to re-make the second burnt one in six minutes. When we explained that the reason we had not chosen that option was because the original food and re-make had taken so long . She then said that they could not control the how well done or burnt they were because the ovens were on all day. Now I have eaten at pizza restaurants all over and never have heard that. I then asked if she would rather lose long time business than doing the right thing she said yes. Long story short those whose pizza was burnt and uneatable had to go out and get something else to eat. In the end we allowed them to re-make the 2 nd burnt pizza and then left it setting on the table. The point was for the owner to see that comping one was the right thing to do and would have cost her less. I have never done this in my life, but having been around a lot of years, I am a firm believer in doing the right thing. The fact that she said she was willing to lose longtime business rather than the right thing was beyond all of our comprehension. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! Walked in, asked for a table and the waitress snarled, "I just got here, ok?!". It took a half hour to get her over to the table to take our order. We had waited 45 minutes to get water/drinks when we approached the bar to ask about getting a couple waters. They immediately said, "Can we suggest another restaurant?". We simply replied that we were leaving. Then, one of the waiters followed us back to our table (to tell the rest of out party that we were going somewhere else) and insisted that we leave through the back so that we wouldn't "continue making a scene", which is what caused a scene as we laughed at him. He yelled threats that he'd call the cops on us if we walked through the restaurant, which was greeted with, "Please do!". To put it lightly, this place sucked. read more

I love this restaurant! It has changed owners a couple times the past few years but it hasn't shown. The quality, menu, service and atmosphere have remained top notch and very enjoyable. I usually get the Parmesan Crusted Halibut and crab cakes. The crab cakes, by the way, are the best I have ever had. Fantastic bar and wine menu. Pizza is amazingly fresh and authentic. Their outdoor seating is very fun and refreshing in front and patio dining is wind sheltered and comfortable out back. The menu offers something for everyone of all ages and the servers are always calm and happy. I have no problem dropping $100 on a two person dinner and stuffing myself to the brim. Here's a tip, start with cake or pie and bring a pizza home for dessert!! ;) read more

Best pizza on the coast! The Greek pizza is my favorite. Love the Ahi and the crab cakes. Fun and friendly atmosphere.

The guy at the motel recommended the restaurant across the street but they were totally booked. So, we went across the street and had an amazing meal. The fish dishes, the crab encrusted salmon and the halibut are the things to get here. Perfectly cooked, quality ingredients. Real crab. Moist fish. I also had the oyster entree and it was also delicious. The best part of the meal, the tab. Great prices for great food. read more

Well if Restobar ever had a service issue, they don't now. Our family of five had a wonderful dinner there with an attentive waitress and hostess, as well as a friendly bartender. We sat directly parallel to the kitchen which was not noisy, and the place was packed. My son loved the crab lobster with ravioli sauce while the restaurant gladly accommodated my daughter's request for the crab ravioli with just melted butter. My husband and I shared the crab Caesar to start and then the meat lovers pizza. We ordered a bottle of white wine to start but then when we decided on the pizza, we wanted to switch to red. The waitress gladly corked our barely used bottle of white and kept it chilled during the dinner so we could take it back to our hotel. Maybe it's good this restaurant isn't in our hometown, I'd eat here too often and too much. read more

Read about this place on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Definitely a good plan. We arrived fairly late - about 30 minutes before closing - and didn't end up leaving until an hour after they closed, mostly because we were at the end of the kitchen queue. Despite this, they didn't make us feel unwanted or uncomfortable for being there late, which I appreciated. A nice wine selection, so we got a very nice Petit Sirah to go with our dinner. The wine was fast in arriving; the food took a while (see also the kitchen being busy), and we were pretty hungry by the time it came. We managed to sit right by the kitchen (a really neat spot!), so we could watch the chefs work their magic and also see our dinners as they were prepared. The music was Italian opera, which combined with the low (but not too low!) lighting and decor to give the place a nice ambiance. The fresh pasta is really quite nice (gotten as a side to some of the entrees). The crab-crusted salmon was amazing; my favorite of the night. The parmesan-crusted halibut with lobster sauce was perfectly done; despite halibut being a white fish, it was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful texture and flavor. The nightly special (ribeye with a skewer of shrimp) was also quite nice, although undercooked; the chef in the kitchen took it back from us with no questions and it was returned shortly in better condition. The chicken was good, but a bit chewy, due to being deboned before being cooked. The salad served with some of the dishes was quite delicious, despite being just the plain side salad. Tiramisu dessert (including a yogurt-covered-chocolate-covered coffee bean on top) was delicious - not too boozy and not too soggy; I've had better in one place, but it's usually worse than this by far. Nice staff, amazing food (I've had as good, but rarely if ever better), and great service makes this a five. Would go back right now if I weren't so stuffed! read more

Sorry 1285 Restobar but you are very inconsistent! A dry caesar side salad is awful. We even let our server know it had no dressing on it. Just paid 6 bucks for a bowl of romain lettuce. This was side to go with our Pizza. We ordered "Meat Lovers" hold the salami. They held everything but pepperoni. I hope while you are closed Jan 1 to Jan 11 that you regroup and improve! Today experience makes me feel "Meh" about going back. read more

Food was average for the price. My crab Caesar had nice crab meat but was a small meal. The romaine could have been more fresh and the dressing was very lemony to my taste. The fried oysters were very strong. The crab sandwich seemed to be the best bet here. My daughter really enjoyed the shrimp pasta. The service was slow; only three servers for the whole restaurant. read more
