I walked in right behind David, who had just gotten back from lunch (food in hand!) and I asked if they had time for me. David took me immediately and put his lunch away. I've been to many nail salons trying to find "that" experience..the one we all look for when receiving a service. Comfortable, clean, and relaxing. None of the salons I've ever been to have checked every box..or even verbally communicated with me during my appointment...until I walked in to KD Nails and sat with David. The whole first appointment, David and I had conversation, and it was light and engaging. It was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to during my appointment and not just sitting in awkward silence! It was a great appointment and i realized that I have found my salon! I went for a couple more appointments, perfect experience each time, and he remembered our conversations and things that were going on in my life that we had spoken about. First of all, I had a 5:30 manicure appointment and had to wait 20 minutes when they then told me they would start my pedicure. The pedicure was fine, nothing to write home about, but as it was finishing it up Belle came over and very quickly filed my nails and removed the gel I had one my nails already. I could understand killing two birds with one stone and starting to remove the gel to save some time, but then to actually start filing my nails in such an awkward position while I'm still in my pedicure chair was just so bizarre. When I'm finally allowed to sit at the normal manicure desk I assumed Belle would continue to care for my nails... nope. If she didn't get to it while I was in the pedicure chair then I was out of luck. The whole process was so incredibly rushed that looking at my nails I still see where there are cuticles. I don't understand why it was so rushed. There were a few walk in clients who she accepted while I was there and many appointments so I think she is just biting off more than she can chew but at some point she needed to say no and focus on quality over quantity. When all was said and done I had only been in there for just about an hour for a dip manicure and gel pedicure which is unheard of for me but definitely came at the price of sloppy work. *UPDATE* The owner contacted me and said she will only give me a refund if I take down my review.
