The only reason they're getting one star is because they accept payments for my cell phone carrier. Other than that they suck because they sell refurbished phones ones that need to be recycled because they're no longer in circulation. My regular guy James is the one I deal with, but his friend from the Boost store next door has been running his shop for the past month and a half because he's not been there for whatever reason, but clearly he doesnt know what he's doing because half of James' customers have been coming in to pay their bills and get their phones on and he couldnt do things the way James did with speed and accuracy. I came in to pay my CLEAR internet bill and the guy who was handling James' shop couldnt put in the payment correctly and then it took two days to get the money refunded to my card which made me mad because my internet is what I use to communicate with my clients since I run a business. I came in to pay my cell bill the day before it was due and I was supposed to get a confirmation text verifying that I paid for service and I never got it and my phone was cut off the next day. I had to go over to the shop and show this guy the receipt and he got it straight because it was going to be world war III up in that store. I don't like people playing with my money and James is going to lose customers because his friend can't process payments correctly and make sure people's business is straight. Although the phone number is listed don't bother calling it nobody answers the phone anyway and the calls go to voicemail which is poor business manners. The shop is situated in Bronzeville just a couple blocks from King Drive so as many know how somewhat upscale the neighborhood is where this shop is located it's rather ghetto in nature. I would go someplace else and if you have carriers that allow you to do payments from a store or online through the automated feature where there's no fee to pay your bill. I think you'll save a lot of time and less stress because doing it that way will ensure that your payment actually went through and you don't have to dispute anything like I did today. I know this next month I will be paying my bill at a TMobile store because I'll know the payment went through when done through the kiosk. This is a terrible! terrible! business/shop. The owner is very unpleasant in his attitude. I purchased a cell phone which I later found out was not completely effective, as the wifi was not working at all. I took it to him and he too acknowledged that it was not effective. He offered to get it fixed immediately and told me to come for it the next day. I was very grateful and looked forward to picking up a totally effective phone. I walk in, he says; no I don't have it yet, he needs another day so come back tomorrow. I am a little irritated but I understand that sometimes things happen, so I can afford to be patient. Ok, I give him the next day and come back on the third day. I walk in...he says; oh no, it is not here, the man, he cannot fix it! but I have someone else who is very good and will definitely fix it, but it will take a week. I ask for my phone back, and he says they are not there and he is waiting for the guy who was supposed to fix it to bring it to his shop, he tells me that he can call me when mit arrives if I give him my phone number. I old him that I was going to wait for my phone to arrive. I sit there and about 10 to 15 minutes later, this man shows up and he has my cell phone. I tell him that, instead of going through all this hullabaloo nonsense, the fair thing would be for him to exchange the phone with a fully working one, as I had barely used the phone for anything else but texting. I offered him to have a look at its usage and he would see it for himself. Thankfully, he saw the fairness in the suggestion and was in agreement with exchanging phones. This is where the problems became worse. After he agreed, then more promises started to come my way. Every 2 weeks or so since August, I was given a promised date to come and pick up the phone. Two days before the 1st of September, he saw me walking down the street, and yelled out to me that I must come on the 1st because he had found an exact phone and I should come by there to pick it. I asked him to assure me, literally promise me that the phone would definitely be there. He gave me his word/assurance and promise without a pause. I was so happy to go to his store and get a fully functional phone. Just as I was about to talk, he immediately tells me that he does not have because he forgot that today was labour day, and so he did not think about getting the phone from the shop he was getting it from. He then tells me that he will have it the next day and now I say to him that he broke his promise, he says that he promises now that I should come back the next day and the phone will definitely be there, and this time he is sure of it. He even suggests to call me. Well, lets just say, it is September 13th, I still do not have the phone that I was assured, promised so very many times. For each promise, it turned out to be a lie, there were so many lies and when I told him that, he says that he does not like that word and that he does not have to keep his promise because it is favour that he is giving me which he can take away any time. I bought this phone which is essentially a gift for my daughter (12 yrs old).(I planned to give it to her when I feel that she is ready for such a responsibility.) The shop keeper/owner began lying to me since I brought the phone back to him kindly asking that he mend it / reconstruct it. Will this phone ever be replaced??? read more
