The coffee here is wonderful as is their House Chai. The service is very friendly and helpful. We were hungry, so we ordered several pastries to share. I'm not sure if they bake these in house, but whoever bakes them deserves an award. These were some fantastic pastries. Their bagels are a standout. Crispy on the outside and really soft on on the inside. The Jalapeño cheddar bagel was amazing. I also loved their Pesto tomato danish, the orange cardamom muffin, and jalapeño cheddar scone. The scones were not dry at all and had such a good texture and flavor. Thump Coffee is great!

My drink came out really bad... barely room temperature, and the quality of espresso was off. The woman who took my order was a little aggressive with snappy comebacks I didn't appreciate. Lastly, when a customer came in with her dog, neither of the staff members said anything to her and actually interacted with the dog. All that said, this place is usually one of my favorite spots! While they don't use a very interesting coffee (they use Stumptown), preparation is usually excellent, and the staff is friendly. I hate to give only 2 stars in this review, but this one experience today really changed my overall opinion. A great coffee experience is EASY to find here in Bend, and what happened today tells me the ownership is a bit out of the loop and may not be doing training correctly. I even tried to reach out to the ownership team on their website, but no contact information can be found anywhere. The bar is high for coffee in this town, so my recommendation is to pass by this place and go about a quarter mile down the road for a better, more predictable experience.

Cafe des Chutes is a cute, European-style cafe that invites you to slow day and enjoy a pastry and coffee on their patio. During each visit, we ordered coffee and at least two items to try a little bit of everyone. I loved that they were offering samples on both days that we went - one day was the Oregon roll and the other was their specialty bread pudding. I was sold on the Oregon Roll! This is their speciality, rolls up marionberry jam inside a croissant with a hazelnut butter glaze. Other items we ordered included the pistachio croissant, peanut butter brownie, Brie and fig jam baguette, jalepeno cheddar scone, and seasonal bread pudding. Everything was a chef's kiss! You can't go wrong here. Be prepared to drop a bag you won't regret. We spent at least $50 during each visit but we were satisfied with our selection. I still dream of this spot and highly recommend for anyone looking for a good cafe outside of downtown Bend!

The dark roast is exceptionally strong and bold but does not taste burnt. Settle it down with a splash of cream and you have an outstanding cup of coffee. The iced latte had just the right amount of espresso and went down fine, even with the ice. Friendly baristas and two drive-through windows make this Bend coffee stop a winner in my book.
