The prices are great, the staff is friendly and the food and Boba are even better! This place is a family favorite!

We love this little place. Food is great, good portions, healthy and lots of vegetarian options. Pricing is excellent. Whenever we don't want to cook, but want to be healthy, we order takeout here. Sometimes they misunderstand the order over the phone, but overall they're very friendly - it happens. The tea is a bit strong, and very sugary if you order sweet. Haven't tried the other drinks, but they look delicious. Tried the wonton soup, popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, croissant sandwich, veggie popcorn chicken. All super delicious. Grilled chicken combo is my diet-safe takeout go-to. In the before COVID times, it was a nice little place to hang out as well, with comfy couches and games. Good place to meet a friend or a date for a quick bite and a coffee/tea. read more

Nice place for a quiet drink or a snack with easy access from Los Angeles Avenue friendly service

I just ordered food here for the first time. I have loved their boba and I get the milk tea boba almost twice a week. I'm a vegetarian so my options here were limited, but there were still great options! I got a vegan chicken sandwich with tomato and lettuce. I loved it! It was so delicious. It is also super reasonable. Nothing is that expensive here. The staff is also very sweet. I will continue to go here as long as I live in Simi. I don't think I will ever get sick of it! read more

Cute "hole in the wall" type with great vegan/vegetarian options. I can't wait to be able to sit inside and enjoy playing the games while eating again with friends! This is a good hangout spot while eating as well read more

This place is awesome! Sure, you can go to your average coffee/tea shop, get your milk boba or whatever, but does it offer delicious food and board games? Is it vegetarian friendly? Most likely not. As an overworked grad student, I'm always looking for sweet little spots like these, where I can nestle up and work from for hours. I can't stress how chill the atmosphere here is. The staff is more than welcoming to their customers! On my last visit, I had a conversation with Ari, at least I think that was her name...anyway, she hooked me up with my jasmine boba slush -delicious by the way, brought it out to me and just talked. She asked me a little about myself, what I liked about the cafe, and was incredibly approachable. I asked her if she was the manager and she said no, but she'd been working there for 10+ years. I gave her kudos for being as friendly as she was, but honestly the rest of the staff I encountered were the same way. Some time later, the manager even came out to see how I'd liked my tea - she had remembered me from my last visits and asked how the food was. Seriously, exceptional service! All in all, I loved everything about this place. Awesome customer service, delicious tea and boba. Oh, and I would definitely order the veggie "pork chops" again -tasty! read more

I found this place because I really wanted to a get a light non alcoholic drink. Convinced my coworker to go with me, as in he did not have a choice since I drove to work that day. First time I came here I got the almond milk tea (super yums) and he got the pineapple flavored tea. Second time I came here I got the passion fruit tea and he got the mango tea. I got a second coworker to come along after our workout and he just got milk tea, which he enjoyed. I think the mango tea is better at cocos (location westwood/sawtelle). The tea over powered the mango and it did not make it enjoyable. The almond milk tea, pineapple and passion fruit tea I was good with. There is plenty of parking since it's in a giant plaza area. Both times we came there was plenty of parking and the store was empty..(probably cause we came around dinner time and everyone else was getting a meal instead of a snack). I will probably come again if i have another crave... read more

A hidden gem tucked in the corner of this shopping meal. I recommend the mango smoothie!

I've been going to this place for many years! I moved out of town but when I visit people in-town I always stop by. The prices are reasonable, the drinks are delicious, they are always kind especially the owner! She remembered me even though I moved! Things to note: Sometimes the music is a little vulgar, which is surprising for a family friendly environment. But that happens only rarely! I wish there were more comfortable seating, maybe if they got rid of the store section? Simi Valleys little gem! read more

I won't be back to this establishment. Happened to be in the area and decided to stop for a quick bite. For one, they OVERCHARGED ME. My food was originally supposed to be $21 in which they input it at that at first in the system. Then it went up to $25 and they changed it again to $26. I asked them what happened and they said they put something in wrong which didn't make sense. Asked for the itemized receipt and noticed they charged me extra. If a business does not state what they are charging you for DO NOT GO THERE. As a first timer it is best to vocalize what the prices are (if different), as well as "by the way this will be an extra charge". Please do better and work on your people skills. Then on top of that the prices on the menu are different than what they charged me for. AND very small portion of food and dry. If i could give it 0 stars I would. I will be getting my money back. Luckily i didn't have the urge to take it to social media read more

My husband & I spent the weekend in Santa Barbara. On our way home our teenage daughter asked us to stop by to get her a Boba drink at her favorite tea house in the valley. Clearly it was out of our way as we were passing through Simi. My husband searched on Yelp and came across 118 Cafe. Don't let the deserted looking shopping center fool you! I did not expect game tables, couches, and a small gift shop in it. It felt like I was in a coffee house. Nice hang out for the family. They have plenty of drinks to choose from and they also serve food. Nice & friendly staff. We ordered the Taro, Almond, & Thai Tea milk drinks with Boba. Their milk teas are just right. Not too sweet or too bland. The Boba was not too hard or not too chewy either. If you live in the area or happen to pass through Simi, stop by and have a drink and maybe play for a little bit. You won't be sorry! read more

I was in the mood to try a new lunch place, and stumbled upon 118 Cafe. The menu is extensive, and reasonably priced. The interior is eclectic, and there are a few tables to sit, and many interesting items for sale. I decided to go with the beef and onion lunch combo, with came with some extra rice, vegetables, and a drink. For the drink I decided to go with an iced tea, no sugar. I appreciated how 118 Cafe allows patrons to choose the sweetness level in their drinks. I waited about ten minutes for my food after placing a to-go order. The beef with onions was similar to Yoshinoya, as the beef was thinly cut with juicy strings of fat. The beef had a nice savory flavor, and it tasted excellent with the onions. I do wish the lunch plate came with a little more beef, and a little less rice, as the combo contained more than enough rice. The vegetables, served on the side, were a nice complement to the entree. The ice tea was refreshing as well. The combo is worth it for a few dollars more. Service was very patient and agreeable. Will try the boba next time. . read more

I've been going to this boba spot ever since I was in high school. Currently a college graduate for a year now, so doing the math, I've been a loyal customer for years, and this review is long overdue! This boba spot does not disappoint! When I moved to Simi years ago, I was worried that I'd have to go all the way to the valley to satisfy my boba cravings, but I'm glad that my family found this place close to our home and near the high school I attended. The drinks were just as delicious as the ones I'd get in the valley and the boba quality is very good! Not too soft, not hard at all. Isa, the owner, is super sweet and friendly! Whenever I come to 118 after school with my dad and brother, she would always remember my name and my order. It's always an extra plus when the staff and owner are very friendly and accommodating! As years gone by, I stayed less in Simi and more in the valley for college, so I visited 118 less frequently as I did in high school/community college BUT when I am home in simi, I make sure to visit 118, say hi to Isa, and get some boba! When I have friends visiting from other places, I make sure to take them to 118! Plus they also have monthly promotions! I don't know any other boba spots that do that. Great deals on delicious drinks and food, can't beat that. LOVE 118 Cafe and you will to! It has a special place to my boba and adolescent heart! read more

absolutely delicious snacks and coffee!! the lady who runs this place is an absolute sweetheart as well. the vibe is the polar opposite of a corporate chain cafe. there's local art being sold and a very homey old school feel overall that feels like a dying art in simi read more

This is one of my favorite local spots to have a cold refreshing treat I like to call...Taro Milk tea with no boba. Not only is it like heaven in my mouth, but the flavor is so good! Another one I love is Honeydew! They also have yummy appetizing treats that go perfect with whatever tasty drink you choose. Comfty chill hangout with sofas, magazines, couple of fun board games, the owner and staff are so nice and there's little gift shop on the side- check it out if you haven't already! read more

I always enjoy coming here. The workers and the owner Isa are very welcoming. Never had any bad experience here! Been coming here since I lived in Simi Valley and never once had I ever had a complain! I love Isa's cooking! Their cream cheese wonton is super good, spam stir fry bowl, and for drinks I always get the strawberry slush with rainbow jellies! Price is super affordable it's like a typical cafe food. Super delicious. I recently started having their corn wonton soup since it has been chilly and let me tell you it is super delicious it's like a egg drop soup with corn and wonton added to them! I definitely recommend everybody to give this place a try you would not regret! It's definitely a gem in Simi Valley. Thank you Isa for always taking care of my orders and always being so welcoming! This review is way over due. Been a fan since 2014! read more

Okay, my review might not be so helpful because I forgot what flavor drink I got this time. If I guess correctly, it's Pomegranate Blueberry Green Tea with boba, pudding and jelly. Isa is a very wonderful lady who finds ways to make my drink better and better each time. If I'm not satisfied the first time, she'll remember and do better the next. After so many years, now I walk in not worrying about any drink she recommends. Now, I've tried so many drinks I've never tasted before. Her employees changes from time to time, but I believe Isa trained them well because the drinks they make are just as good. Oh last thing... they also have Taiwanese snacks, minced pork with rice, and so much more! read more

This review is 13 years overdue...! I've been going to 118 Cafe when it used to be called Tapioca Express. I can remember the times when my mom took me to 118 Cafe to get my signature Honey Green Tea drink before going to my tutoring classes. On average, I would go to 118 about 4-5 times a week and because of that, all the employees know my drink the moment I walk in! For food, my go to dishes are the popcorn chicken combo, spam and eggs with rice, and ham croissant sandwich. For drinks, I rarely deviate from honey green tea, but when I feel a bit adventurous, I've tried their milk tea, Thai tea, and banana slush. If for some reason their drinks aren't great, they'll always remake it to my satisfaction. I've gotten to know Isa, the store owner, very well these past 13 years. She's known me for almost half my life! 118 used to be my second home when I was living in Simi. I'd study, eat, and hang out there with all my friends. Sometimes when I'm craving a HGT 15-30 mins after their closing hours, I'll call Isa and she'll make the drink AND wait for me to get there before she leaves. Not only that, but she delivers the drink before I even get out of the car!!! Thank you for always being there for me whenever I'm having my HGT withdrawals read more

I cannot emphasize enough how lucky Simi Valley is for the 118 cafe and want to scream from the rooftops to urge others to try ANYTHING from this wonderful place. My personal favorite is the blended peach tea with rainbow jelly and will try anything from the kitchen because it is all made fresh and tastes authentic. ( I like the fresh mung bean steamed buns- a rare snack to find on the go!) My friends and I cherish this place and appreciate all the small details and hard work the owner puts into making our experience memorable. On top of being able to have a one of a kind tea experience they sell many different kinds of unique handmade crafts, (perfect gifts) and host events such as comedy shows and movie nights. There is truly nothing as special as the 118 cafe in all of Simi Valley and I truly believe there is something for everyone here! read more

Thank you for staying open during the pandemic. The place was crowded even though it was well passed 1pm on Sat. We thought our foods would be ready in 20min or so given we ordered two kinds of bowls, sausage snacks, buns with some ice tea. However, we ended up waiting for 40min as it was advised on the app. I wish it was a little faster. Sausage snack was a great idea, light and easy to nibble in a car as well as buns. Bowls were very Americanized though they're supposed to be Asian themed. Over all, it was a little disappointing though we really appreciated them being open during this difficult time. read more

Deteriorated service and quality of drinks!! The last time I ordered my Taro Boba Smoothie, I still can taste the powdered taro that wasnt blended well!!! I paid extra for boba, but they must have put around 10-15 pcs only??!!! Ripoff!! Yikes never again! Disgusting taste and texture of my drink!! I cant wait for Boba Tine to open at the Tapo Canyon Plaza!!!! YAY!!!! Response: Isa, you cant force your customers write a good review if theres really nothing nice to say about your business anymore. You cant be upset or sarcastic if I wrote 2 negative reviews!! You shld be thankful this is the last, because I dont intend to go back to your cafe ever again!! Your resto is always almost nobody there, I wonder how youre surviving. With Boba Time opening very soon, I wonder how thats gonna affect your business even more?! Perhaps you shld stop charging additional for Boba?!! Out of all the dining establishments near my place of residence, I would have to admit that this place is my guilty pleasure. Although I like my coffee and tea both unsweetened and with no milk, the milk teas, especially the Thai iced tea from here are actually pretty good. Lots of selection of coffee, tea, and blended drinks, but my favorite is the Lychee Black Tea with lychee jelly. Sweet... Yes! Their food style is Taiwanese, and they have expanded their menu to even include vegetarian dishes. For me, I always order the popcorn chicken, spicy... Snack size or entree portion, Yum! Service is always friendly, and if you go there often enough, they will remember you by name and what you normally order. Never a disappointment from here! read more

I love stopping by this little Simi Valley gem tucked in the corner of the Yosemite/LA Ave strip mall. The owner is really friendly and makes an effort to remember who you are. My go to favorites are the milk tea boba, fresh melon slushie & popcorn chicken snack (extra spicy). I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I can tell you that all the things that I've had so far are really yummy. Sometimes when you go to boba cafes, the drinks taste a little artificial (powder flavored), but that's not the case at 118 Cafe. All the drinks have great depth and are very fresh. So, go on over and treat yourself to a refreshing drink!! PS. Sometimes the cafe can get busy, so if there are tons of people ordering food/drinks, just expect a 10 minute wait for dishes from the kitchen/drinks bar. While you are waiting, grab a seat on the couch and read a magazine or play a game with your friends. read more

Went again with a birth group friend last Friday and got a few different items. The sesame balls are delicious and very sweet with the red bean paste filling. I had talked to the owner and she said they do have the bao with the same filling but it isn't that popular with folks except of the Asian backgrounds lol. I have a coworker who has brought red bean paste bao (from an Asian market in LA) to work before and it is pretty good! I hope to try that variation next time. My friend got a wide variety of items to share with her kidlet from taquitos, bao, popcorn chicken, and a few other things. I got the Korean BBQ pork bowl which was delicious but the flavors are very different for most not familiar with korean BBQ but it was spot on for me. We left with full happy stomachs. read more

We tried 118 recently and found it to be a pretty good place. My husband and son ordered some of there regular fare (with meat) where I ordered a vegan dish. My son got the eel.
