Filled with gratitude to Julie at Mirror Mirror Salon in Vienna. I posted in this group earlier, in…read morehopes of finding a stylist to fix my hair. She reached out to me via DM and offered to help me with my hair-mergency. I previously went to a salon in Falls Church where my hair was cut unevenly(one side longer than the other/thinner than the other), severely thinned out at the bottom and given choppy "layers"(if you could even call them that. Initially I wasn't able to tell walking out of the salon due to the way the stylist had blew out my hair - it was only when I washed it for the first time that I noticed it. I was too embarrassed to even take photos of my hair and tried to hide it the best I could by curling it again for work. Julie did an amazing job saving what she could of my hair. She evened out the bottom as best as it could be (there is still some thinness/patchiness just due to the previous stylist) but I couldn't be more grateful for her time and work. If you're ever in need of a great service, I highly recommend seeing Julie and taking advantage of her 20+ years of knowledge/experience.

Came for a cut and color with Emma…read more I have very dark (black) hair that's thick and voluminous. With the warmer weather I want to cut it thinner, but every time I go somewhere they try to do high layers which just makes my shoulder length hair look like a lob. Emma listened to what I want and was able to trim my hair (1 inch) and thin it out as needed so that I can have light and airy. My hair finally feels like it can move! Emma also very patiently put SO many foils in my hair for a nice natural balayage. I had told her I want something low maintenance that won't have me screaming for a touch up in 6-8 weeks (did I mention my hair also grows very fast?) and preferably something lighter but not too light (I also just know my hair won't lift that quickly). 4 hours later I have what I wanted! Rodi came by and said hello. Everyone at the salon was very friendly and pleasant. Would definitely return (maybe to go lighter? Maybe for toning? Maybe for another great haircut). Recommend!

I'm disappointed with my recent experience and wanted to share it so others can make an informed…read moredecision. I booked an appointment based on the salon's $169 highlight special. I specifically explained that I wanted to refresh my existing highlights and add lowlights because I wanted my overall color to be darker and more dimensional. I was told lowlights would be added. The end result does look nice, but it is not what I asked for. Instead of lowlights, a toner was used, which actually made my hair lighter rather than darker. I was also charged $285, substantially more than the advertised $169 special. Because the result wasn't what I requested, correcting the color will require another service and additional expense. I reached out to the salon owner directly to explain my concerns and give them an opportunity to address the situation before leaving a review, but I never received a response. I understand that hair color can sometimes have unexpected results, and I would have been very open to working with the salon to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the combination of paying significantly more than expected, not receiving the color service I had specifically requested, and receiving no response when I reached out has left me disappointed. I'm sharing this review simply so prospective clients know what my experience was like. I have added pictures of the color and tones I requested verses what I got.

As always, Lilly took the time to listen to my goals and provided several thoughtful options to achieve the look I wanted while protecting the progress we've made over the years. Instead of a full color treatment, Lilly recommended adding lowlights to create a richer, darker fall look without compromising the beautiful blonde color we've worked so hard to achieve. The results were exactly what I was hoping for, natural, dimensional, and healthy-looking. What I appreciate most about Lilly is her expertise, honesty, and ability to customize a plan that works for each client. She always considers the long-term health of my hair while making sure I leave feeling confident and refreshed. Lilly is truly the best! I highly recommend Lilly to anyone looking for a talented stylist who genuinely cares about her clients and consistently delivers beautiful results.

I tried to explain what I wanted and why, and I even showed example pics of what I liked, only to be met with a silent look and a continuation of ignoring my appointment request and trying to talk me into something that I did not want at all. This went on for 20 minutes, and the colorist flat-out refused to listen to what I wanted to get done and instead focused on what they thought I should want, which was NOT at all even close to what I wanted. I quickly noticed that everyone else in the salon was met, seated, and received their services, all with a smile. After having all the other clients watching & listening and feeling completely embarrassed by what was happening with me, I finally caved, but I shouldn't have! Afraid to say much in the way of details, but I do want to tell peeps to most definitely advocate for yourself even if the stylist doesn't agree with you because you are getting your hair done how YOU like it and in a style that makes you feel good, not for them! And trust me, they would most definitely not want you to choose their hairstyle for them, so don't feel bad about standing your ground. I wish I had!!! My hair looks no different, and I truly hate it, and I hate the word hate! I am not happy at all, and I wasted a lot of money! My fight or flight kicked in, and I should have listened to myself and walked out. Instead, I let them wear me down, and ended up paying over $100 to have something done that is not what I wanted and not even close to what I booked my appointment for, and I am so disappointed it's not even funny. It's one thing to give an unsolicited opinion and even to explain why you have that opinion, but it's another to basically bully someone into your idea of how you think they should look! It's ultimately the individual's choice as to how they want their own hair colored unless, of course, you waive all rights, which I did not, or if my life was in jeopardy by getting it colored how I wanted, which it was not. Beyond disappointed & I do not recommend this place at all! Beware!!!
