Taro Milktea 100% sugar, w/ oolong tea

My absolute favorite place to get my Taro Milktea 100% w/ oolong. No other place makes it as delicious!

Good drinks. Not so good? The wait. We had 4 drinks (2 milk teas, smoothie, flavored tea), 2 plant-pot ice creams and a flan... 20 minutes with no one waiting before us on a Saturday early evening. Lots of laughter coming from the kitchen but no drinks in sight. I stood at the cashier stand and someone came out from the back and asked if I needed to order something. I said no, I'm just waiting for our order that we placed 20 minutes ago... Her response to me was that they make their drinks fresh so it takes a while. I stood there dumbfounded. Doesn't everyone make their drinks fresh? I guess they were milking a cow in the back, seeping each flavored tea, cooking the boba and churning the ice cream. We were going to come back the next day to try out something different from their very extensive menu, but it's really not worth the wait. Perhaps they should remove some items from the menu and focus on making their "fresh" items instead.

1102 Bubble Tea & Coffee is the first bubble tea place that I had ever been to. It started my love for bubble tea. It is some of the best bubble tea that I have had, and now I live in Dallas where i'm surrounded by bubble tea places. In or around Waco, there are not that many places you can get bubble tea. So it is a very special place that is unique for Waco. I would say that it is up to par with the Dallas bubble tea businesses. My favorite drink is the Tiger Sugar Boba Milk. Very tasty and reminds me of the black sugar boba drinks in Dallas. Come try this place out! It's super cute, has chills vibes, and k-pop music. What more could you want?

We've given this place several chances, but the service remains terrible. Actually, there's practically no service at all. They have only one person in the back making drinks, and you're required to place orders on an iPad. If you have questions, you're stuck waiting forever for that one employee to come out and assist. Even when you order online, you'll end up waiting an extra 30 minutes after receiving the message that your order is ready.

I love this place when they have what they sell available. Unfortunately, they are always between batches of Boba and the wait can last between 40 minutes to an hour for a drink. This is the norm for this location; hopefully management learns how to fix this issue. It seems very simple to keep multiple batches going so that there aren't long lags without prepared boba. Edited to one star after I waited for 40 minutes in the store for my drink before they called my number to tell me they were out of boba and it would be an hour before it was ready. I asked for a refund and they refunded the amount for my drink but kept the tip.

Out of the four -ish places that does Boba in Waco, this one is definitely the best quality, but also has the highest prices. They have a lot of versatile flavors and teas, and there's really no way you can go wrong with the choices. Don't be intimidated by all the options! I recommend the oolong black taro bubble tea. During COVID they are not doing dine in, but you can go in to order.

1102 Bubble Tea and Coffee Newer Bubble Tea place in Waco. Interior decor is nice and very modern. Like the tent style semi private japenese cubicals. Strawberry Sorbet was very tasty and enjoyed. Milk Tea with Boba was a favorite of my daughters. Everyone welcomes this place to Waco!

Super cute shop! They have great service and great boba. If they have egg rolls when you go, try them! They're really good. The dumplings are also good. They recently started being cashless, so card only.

My husband and I were in town visiting family and I wanted to grab a boba drink. I went on Yelp and found this place, the reviews didn't look too bad and it was on the way home. When we pulled into the parking lot it was small and the shop looked empty/closed. The shop itself is very cute, they have seating areas that are well decorated. The menu has a good selection of milk teas, smoothies, and slushies. I ordered a large Strawberry Milk Tea with boba and my husband got a Vietnamese Coffee. There were only 2 people working so service was really slow, it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. This was all during the COVID-19 so I understand they're taking precautions by having fewer workers. The Strawberry Milk Tea was pretty good, I really enjoyed my drink. The boba had a nice chewy texture. The sugar level was a little sweeter than I would have liked, but it was ok. My husband's Vietnamese Coffee had more ice than coffee (see pictures) so I took 1 star off for that. Overall, it's a cute boba shop that has IG worthy decorations, the drinks are pretty good depending on what you order. Ice level is definitely a problem that needs attention. Will I come back? Ehh not sure how I feel about it.

Maybe it's time to figure out a more efficient way to make a drink?!?! Drink selection is wonderful, plus the place is super cute. However, the wait is ATROCIOUS. When we walked in, there were three people waiting. Two of them received their order 10 minutes after we placed ours and the third waited 25 min. after we arrived. How long had they been waiting before we got here? We're way past 30 min in, as you can see from our ticket and the time this posted, and still don't have our drinks.

Black tea with lychee and agar boba.

So happy to finally have a bubble tea place in Waco - definitely better than the current situation of ordering bubble tea from an Asian restaurant. Since it's still pretty new, I'm keeping my hopes up that this place will only continue to improve. I really hope they have the option to change the "your order's ready" buzzers from the mildly disturbing beeping to a softer vibration instead. I went to place my order of oolong lychee milk tea, but the cashier told me that people "don't order lychee with oolong because it's a strong tea." She offered to let me try the oolong to see what she meant but handed me a small cup and said "here's the black tea" and then proceeded to input my order for black tea with lychee...I enjoyed the drink but felt like this was pretty rude on her part. The milk tea was a bit too sweet and had more milk than I normally like in my tea so any flavor of the tea was overshadowed. I did enjoy the agar boba, which is basically just crystal boba if you've seen it by that name at other places.

The place is cozy, the drinks yummy and the employees are so nice and helpful. I picked up my kids from school and made a stop here for some bubble tea. We got 5 black tea with bubbles, one coconut, one strawberry and 3 mangoes. I called for the order because I didn't want to bring them all in. The lady that took my order was nice enough to order to bring me my order at my car. I so appreciate this.

Staff is friendly but the wait to get your drink is SUPER LONG. The flavor of the drinks was good so it made up for the wait.

If it was made incorrectly, that's fine, but just offer to remake it. It's a $7 drink; the cost to fix it is minimal, and customers remember when you take the time to make something right. Because I requested no ice, the drink also wasn't filled to the top, which felt dismissive considering it was a full-priced order. Unfortunately I cannot drink super cold drinks or food. Seems silly to let a customer walk away with 2 oz shy of a full drink because you usually put ice Service: The staff member was polite when I walked in and even suggested one of their specialty drinks, which I appreciated. However, after I explained that I wanted a simple peach and mango tea and didn't want the specialty item that included strawberry and jellies, she continued to try to steer me toward her suggestion -- saying, "I think you'll like this better." I value recommendations, but once a customer has clearly declined, it's important to respect their preference. After receiving the drink, I realized how overly sweet it was and politely asked if it was truly 25%. I was told it might be because the boba had honey, but having visited hundreds of boba tea places, that alone wouldn't cause such a strong sweetness. I mentioned that I'm pregnant and watching my sugar intake, an opportunity to show care, yet there was no offer to adjust or remake it. When I politely set the drink down and left, there was no follow-up or acknowledgment. I didn't ask for a refund; I simply walked away. If keeping that one cup meant more than keeping a customer, that says something about priorities. Ambiance: Poppa Bear has a cozy café setup with Wi-Fi and a warm, casual vibe. When I visited, a few college students were working quietly on laptops. It's the kind of space that could easily become a community favorite. However, the experience felt like the team was more focused on avoiding loss than creating loyalty. In business, especially hospitality, a small margin for remakes or mistakes is simply part of good operations and it pays back tenfold in customer trust. Overall: Poppa Bear has real potential. The drinks and environment are inviting, but consistent service and responsiveness will determine its long-term success. A little attentiveness and flexibility go a long way in building loyal customers.

Unfortunately, the two women working the front register completely ruined the experience and made us never want to go back. When we first arrived, both employees were glued to their phones. We had to struggle just to get their attention to ask a basic question about the ordering kiosk. Because we were paying with cash, we had to order directly at the register, but the cashier acted like she wasn't even listening to us. Later, I needed to go back up to the counter to ask for a second plate. My mom and I were splitting our lunch--we intentionally ordered a large portion and an extra side of rice to do this--but the cashier rudely snapped at me, saying she had "already given me a plate." (She only gave us one.) To make matters worse, the front-of-house environment felt incredibly unprofessional. At one point, the cashier had her top pulled up and her pants pulled down around her hips to show off a stomach tattoo to her coworker right at the counter. After the interaction, she was so incredibly rude that we could actually hear her talking about us all the way from our table. It is incredibly sad that such talented kitchen staff and great food are being dragged down by such terrible, unprofessional customer service at the front. Management really needs to address this

What I found was a great little sushi joint that had some interesting Asian twists to follow along. When I arrived, the dining area was fairly busy, yet felt comfortable in the modern Asian restaurant style, slightly reminiscent of a Pei-Wei. I admit, I can't do this place justice because I was tired and did not get enough photos of the place. Even though I hate using order yourself kiosk, I can't complain much about the ones at Wako Roll. The system provides you good images of the items you are selecting and easy ways to substitute or add ingredients or modify your order. The menu offers a wide variety of Korean dishes including bibimbap and various varieties of bulgogi, but what caught my eyes were the Wako Roll Tacos. I ordered a Bulgogi Taco and a Spicy Pork Taco, plus a California Roll for good measure. The tacos were larger than I expected and served in a common street taco style, but LOADED with ingredients. The meat was juicy and flavorful, and the fresh vegetables added the perfect crunch. What really surprised me was the California Roll, a basic sushi staple at every sushi bar worth its name. The roll was larger than expected, tasted wonderful, was clearly freshly made, and STUFFED with a marinated, shredded crab that was an unexpected treat. For the price, of $7 it was far better than I expected it to be. Traveling through Waco anytime soon? Stop at Wako Roll and try something out. Chances are, you will not be disappointed.
