Farmer John took the time to talk to me about his grass fed cows which takes extra care and time. Most recently we bought a prime rib for Christmas and our family thought it was outstanding. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). The owner was very friendly and comically had a sniff of the meat. He gave me with very specific instructions as to how to cook it. I say the best possible way to see a butcher who is passionate about the product he is putting out. Perfectly prepared and will look forward to coming back if I am in the area again.
