I have been coming here for years. They consistently make great food. The bread they use for their subs is fantastic.

Admittedly, I fall a lot closer to the latter, but I appreciate the juxtaposition. According to the sign outside, they specialize in fresh dressed game birds, undoubtedly sourced by the group of guys running the attached gun shop (which is also decorated by some local taxidermist). I can't understand why they have a photo of that reality TV star that used to fire people up on the wall, but that's neither here nor there. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). I'd like to come back with more of a plan to try their poultry, or at least some fresh ground beef, the bacon, and more.

I was told to order the #4 or the Vodka Chicken Parm hero. Ended up walking out with over $350 worth of food because I was so blown away. I'm not really sure where to begin: first of all as an Italian, walking into the restaurant already felt like home. I was blown away from the fresh made pasta's, various sauces I could take home, Arancini's (rice balls), and then how could I say no to the desserts. I was in heaven. I had a great conversation with the fabulous ladies behind the counter. I'm pretty sure everyone behind me picking up orders were like "can this guy leave already?". But I just had to continue chatting with everyone. The ladies helped me get everything from around the store that my heart desired. And then I remembered, I was supposed to come in and get a sandwhich. They showed me the screens mounted on the walls which clearly had a custom ordering template built out from the store with all the modification elements to add/remove toppings as needed. Blown away again. I'm a technology salesperson and that part hit a different satisfaction for me as they had this down - and quite honestly the Italian market/pork store is not where I'm expected the highest level of technology lol. Just blown away. Lastly, I told them about my fiancée and how her family owns DelFiore's pork store down on Long Island. At that point they grabbed Fabio, the owner, and we had an amazing conversation as I learned he knew exactly what DelFiore's was and even offered to help give us advice if we ever want to get into the family business. I was supposed to go in and get a rocking $25-$30 sandwhich and I walked out with $350 worth of food because I was being assisted by some of the nicest people I've ever met in the food industry. Just the most genuine caring people. Mind you, I had to schlep all of this back to Brooklyn NY in a Suburu Outback rental. And if you are wondering if everything stayed in the trunk on that drive back, fughetaboutit. I'm popping arancini's like candy on the Taconic home (no small feet with those turns). These people are in the food business because they care about making people's days and giving them the best possible food. Protect these people at all costs. This is a Mecca for quality Italian provisions. I'll be grabbing my fiancée and heading back up so we can continue chatting with everyone and not holding the lines up. 11/10 experience I'm blown away if you couldn't already tell. Just take my money, I can't pay enough for such enjoyable days. That drive home sucked at rush hour, but they all made it worth it. I like to think I gave them all a little enjoyment as well :). This place came recommended by the host at our bed and breakfast, and let me tell you, it completely delivered. Food: 5/5 I went with the #4: chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella on focaccia , and wow. First of all, it was massive--no way I could finish it solo, so I split it with my husband and we were both blown away. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the mozzarella was so fresh, and the focaccia was fresh and perfectly chewy. It's honestly one of the best chicken cutlet sandwiches I've had--like, up there with the Red Hook Italian delis in Brooklyn. This sandwich had weight, flavor, and heart. Chef's kiss. My husband also ordered a side of meatballs, which admittedly took a bit longer, but he was obsessed with them, so no real complaints. I get it--the hot items take a little more time than the sandwiches. Service: 5/5 This isn't a sit-down spot--they've got a couple of chairs, but it's really more grab-and-go. That said, service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Our sandwiches came out in about 10-15 minutes, and the staff was great about keeping the line moving even when it got a little busy. Overall: This place is a gem. Total cost for both of us? Around $30, and it felt like a luxury lunch without the price tag. Generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and that classic deli charm. If you're anywhere near the Hudson Valley, do yourself a favor and stop here. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.
