This farm store seems to live halfway between its farm roots and wanting to take advantage of the influx of new bougie weekenders coming up from the city. Admittedly, I fall a lot closer to the latter, but I appreciate the juxtaposition. According to the sign outside, they specialize in fresh dressed game birds, undoubtedly sourced by the group of guys running the attached gun shop (which is also decorated by some local taxidermist). I can't understand why they have a photo of that reality TV star that used to fire people up on the wall, but that's neither here nor there. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). I have been here a couple of times in the past, several years ago. I loved everything we bought, especially their bacon. I am staying with a friend in the area and wanted to double-check the address and see if they had a website. Unfortunately, I noticed their sign (that someone posted in a previous review) stating that they are not enforcing any CDC mask requirements. I also read the reviews where employees were not masked. They care only about themselves and clearly do NOT care about people getting sick and dying during this pandemic. They have lost at least three customers for life now. Shame on you! read more

Hacked, not butchered. Stopped in while passing through, figured it would be a nice gesture to SUPPORT THE LOCAL ECONOMY in tough times, etc.. Bought a $38 chicken and asked that it be cut in 8's. Guy wielding the knife was wearing an apron, I figured he was a butcher. A noble profession that requires talent and knowledge. WAS I EVER SUPRISED when I returned home and opened the bag. Instead of 2 wings, 2 legs, 2 breasts and 2 thighs (that's 8) ...I had a bag of hacked chicken meat. HACKED, not butchered. Dude, there was one other person in the store, the phone wasn't ringing, what the heck was the distraction/excuse. Maybe this is your quiet way of unleashing your anger for having to depend on people passing through who are stupid enough to pay almost $40 for an uncooked chicken. This is a good store! I like the people who work there too! They've always been nice, even though one or two can come off gruff if they are busy. It's great to have fresh cut meats. The poultry is locally raised on their farm. The fresh turkeys during the holidays are great too! It's handy to call in an order to pick up too. read more

I was INCREDIBLY disappointed today. I stopped by Quattro's Farm around 4PM to pick up stuff for my sister. I walked over to the butcher end of the store and waited for a woman to finish packing up chicken. After a bit, she turned to face me and I realized that she was handling poultry with NO MASK ON. Then, while I stood there trying to politely explain why this was a problem, a man walked back behind the refrigerator to join her. He, also, was without a mask. Do their staff members realize they're endangering people's LIVES by not bothering to wear masks while handling food and being around customers? Do they understand that they're breaking a New York State law? Or do they just not care who dies because they don't feel like being inconvenienced? I sure haven't spent the last four months in my apartment with my family, leaving only for bare necessities, to bring home COVID-19 because their staff doesn't care about my mother, mother in law, sisters, brother and niece with compromised immune systems. Discovered Quattro at a Union Square Green market in the early 2000s. Foodies like us had to find the store and some 15 years later we still love to take a ride to the Pleasant Valley shop on rte 44, right off the Taconic Parkway. The store is a bit cramped and really quirky, the kind of store that we enjoy visiting. All kinds of meat and poultry, at prevailing prices, plus grocery items like Martin's Handmade Sourdough Pretzels. On our recent visit we were told that the ownership of Union Square market has changed and some of the new rules are badly affecting vendors and some may go elsewhere. Anyway, the house made pheasant sausage (plain, hot or garlic) which originally brought us in, is still the bomb! Summertime we have been known to use their picnic table to chow down on that sausage and a bag of those hard-to-find pretzels. Finish your visit with some of their excellent soft serve ice cream. In addition to that fabulous sausage, they have various duck preparations, whole birds, beef and game meats which are excellent (not cheap, btw). The lack of staff masking is no longer an issue and yes, there is the gun shop in the back. read more

Let me start by speaking of the insanely high quality of product that is provided by Quattro's. They farm their own fowl, fly in beef from free range farms in the west and have personally visited their hog supplier in the south to ensure a quality product, they even smoke some of their own products. The true cost of food is evident here as things can be a bit pricey but when you want a quality product you need to pay for that product to be properly handled and produced. When you order hamburger at the tiny meat counter they pull steaks out and grind them to your specifications. If the porterhouse in the cooler isn't the right size they will pull out a side of beef and cut one to order. They also carry game meats, fresh, frozen and dried pasta as well as farm fresh produce. Wander around the tiny store and you will be amazed at the eclectic and wonderful things you can find. This truly is a family business and they take a lot of pride in what they do and it shows. I feel it's important to correct the craziness of the reviews before mine. The 2 reviews that incorrectly rate this store as sub-par are written by a person who felt jilted about not being able to bring ice cream into the store and one who was pissy about a donation. Neither of them reviewed the food, the products or the quality of service that this establishment provides. Yelp supposedly has a magic algorithm that helps push fair reviews from legitimate sources to the top and crazy or shill reviews to the bottom. It's obviously not working. read more

Grocery store was a-ok. They sell soft serve ice cream outside the store and it is not allowed to be brought in to the store. Local game meat and home harvested meat product are said to be sold there but haven't tried any. Gun shop: Sal is helpful & friendly. We bought our first Mossberg 835 there and they were fast with background check and processing. read more

If you are looking for fresh wild game you will find it here among other delicacies. We came here as we were curious about the ammo and gun area which we looked at and then perused the store and it was very quaint and packed with many different food items. They had all different kinds of cheeses, pastas, ales/beers, and of course the butcher at the back offering all different kinds of meats. They also had fridges filled with all different kinds of meats that they packaged such as ground venison, etc. They have something for everyone. read more

Standing rib roast - we ordered a month ago and had them dry age it for us. Fantastic. Had their Turkey for thanksgiving too. And they got some great pies from a baker around here. Count on them for designer olive oils, pastas and other specialty ingredients. But the meat is the shit. read more

Christmas Eve, 3a.m. 2019 ... This is what happened me. Be careful. Earlier this 12/24/2019 Christmas Eve morning -3am- I started to prep my Christmas goose purchased from Quattro on Saturday 12/21/2010 at Union Sq. Market, LES NYC. What I found is wholly unacceptable product and customer experience after inquiring. What I found was a $97 totally gutted Christmas goose: No liver, no heart, no neck, no gizzards -all extracted! This 8 LB goose Quattros sold to me at Union Square market was $97.00! I began calling the store and farm from about 5:30am this Christmas Eve 2019. Finally, around 8am a Quattro woman picked up the phone. As I explained (or tried too before she told me she was too busy) she claimed ignorance that their Geese were sold this way, but admitted my call wasn't the first. they'd received calls from other customers complaining about the same issue. Then said she was really busy. I will call Union Square Green market as soon as I can this afternoon. Pretty annoyed, totally inconvenienced, and not standing for it! read more

I've always been a fan of Quattro's and have bought their products and placed special orders with them for several years. However, last week I called and placed a special order for a capon and when asked when I wanted to pick it up, I said "next Monday afternoon". So, today I took the train to Poughkeepsie and a rental car to Quattro's (2.5 hours). When I first entered the store, the staff was too busy talking to even say, "Hello, just a minute," and when they did address me, I said that I was there to pick up a capon. "We still have a few. You can order one," was the reply. "I did order and am supposed to pick it up today," I said. Nothing. The "butcher" (I guess) said that if there ws an order he never got it. My name was finally located as picking up NEXT Monday (i.e., the Monday after next from when I ordered it. I was offered other choices: turkey, goose, pheasant, pork beef --- none of which we eat. Or pickup at Union Square Market later in the week, when we will not be here. The saleslady said that it was "just an honest mistake" and suggested I had not made myself clear and sorry about that. I pointed out that their "honest mistake" had put me $100.00 out of pocket with nothing to show for it, and I would not be buying anything from them again because I could not rely on them, at which point she became angry and said I was being unreasonable. Well, if you can't count on your order to be accurately recorded and fulfilled, why would you want to shop with them. I was not angry; just extremely disappointed not only not to be able to get my order but to have wasted so much time and money. read more

This store is COOL! Famous for their own farm raised poultry. In addition they have a prime butcher case, loads of italian specialties, cheeses, fresh bread, tons of microbrews (including taps for growler fills) and (for those interested in this sort of thing) an attached gun store. Amazing game and grocer! The duck bacon and rabbit are fantastic. I love the local dairy and Italian foods you can find there. My favorite are the turkey and quail eggs and knowing their meat is antibiotic free. Worth the trip for my Thanksgiving turkey that is far better than anything you can find at the grocery store. Wonderful quality stuff. They will walk you through all the different kinds of meat that they have. They will discuss how much meat you need for how many people you going to be serving. They have farm raised turkeys that are,if you will, "crap free", ( raised without additives and antibiotics). The flavor is out of this world. They also carry some specialty items like frozen wild boar ribs from Georgia. These things look like they came from a dinosaur! They are amazing on a barbecue! I just ordered our Thanksgiving turkey and I'm drooling already thinking about it. They also have a nice selection of a farm and dairy items and an Italian food section as well. I agree completely with Russell B. We buy a fresh goose annually for Christmas at Quattro's -- they are difficult to come by in Dutchess County, and Quattro's has them. Their fresh meats are just superb. Ditto the chicken. If you want any out-of-the ordinary fowl -- like pheasant -- they have it. Excellent range of processed meats. Good frozen food. I haven't tried the soft-serve ice cream, so I can't speak to that. But for meat and fowl (and Christmas goose) they are about as good as it gets. read more
