Friends just stayed at a separate apartment adjoining the main home on the property and it was quite charming. The creamery / dairy farm also hosts full blown farm stays, evidently. p.p.s. Our CSA recently included Chaseholm Farm's 100% grass-fed whole milk yogurt and farmer's cheese…read morewith garlic and chives in our share. I was quite floored by the former and impressed enough by the quality of the latter to write an uncharacteristic review for an establishment I've never visited or interacted with directly. But let me just tell you about that yogurt! I don't often enjoy plain yogurt all by its lonesome, without honey or fruit compote, or as an ingredient in cold cucumber soup or raitha. Chaseholm's plain, whole milk yogurt was so good I was reluctant to adulterate it with anything else. Texturally just a touch thicker than kefir, with the rich mouthfeel of full fat, the flavor is mild and easy-going, but not so mild as to be uninteresting (e.g. Dannon). I don't think I can remember a plain yogurt I enjoyed more. Farmer's cheese is a fresh, unaged cheese made by mixing cow's milk with an acid (eg lemon juice, vinegar). It's a close cousin of cottage cheese (which I despise); paneer (meh); and cream cheese (a lot more enthusiastic). Truth be told, farmer's cheese is not my favorite type of cheese, but this version was surprisingly charming. The garlic and chives were present, but not at all overwhelming, and the texture creamy enough to spread it on our favorite everything bagels (from Tal). I firmly believe that happy cows make the most delicious milk. (There's a dairy farm we like in CT that keeps calves with their mothers and only takes some of the milk meant for the calf -- something called the Madre Method, I think. The milk produced there is scrumptious.) Based on the products we've tried, I'm willing to bet the cows at Chaseholm Farm are happy!

Established in 1904, this beautiful family farm offers an incredible selection of fresh produce, delicious baked goods, homemade jams, honey, pickles, breads, plants, and so much more. I was especially impressed by their greenhouse operation, which includes both hydroponic and aquaponic growing systems. They grow fresh lettuce, cucumbers, and strawberries right on the property using innovative growing methods. The farm itself is beautiful, with apple and peach orchards, fields of wildflowers, and plenty of seasonal produce. There's also a great selection of perennial plants for anyone looking to add something new to their garden. And there's even a brewery right on the property, making Wright's Farm more than just a place to pick up groceries. It's a destination to explore, shop, eat, drink, and enjoy the beauty of the Hudson Valley. From the incredible selection of locally produced foods to the beautiful landscape and innovative farming practices, Wright's Farm was definitely a highlight of our visit. Walking inside, it's a different experience at Wright's Farm. This visit, I want to buy a bottle of local wine and some local cheese then go back to the hotel. I see there is a very nice selection of Hudson Valley and regional wines. I also buy a nice local, spreadable cheese along with some crackers. I noticed towards the back, I see a wall of homemade jams. And they're all packaged in these cute mason jars! Strawberry Jelly is a must but then we went a little nutzo with a few more jam flavors as well as homemade apple sauces, fresh cheeses and pickles! Sunday, its check out time and we're heading back to Long Island after breakfast. My wife said we need to go shopping for dinner today. I said, Let's go back to Wright's Farm and pick up dinner? And this was the highlight of our trip. In the cold cases, I see homemade ravioli, one of the stuffings was corn? I had plans to stop in The Bronx and get a few boxes of Raviolis. I gambled and said lets try their corn ravioli. O.M.G. This ravioli was fantastic! My wife made it with fresh sage from our herb garden. It was a little pricey but it was better than anything I had this year. For the week, we bought a large ham steak and a ham hock for pea soup. I saw something interesting, a black futsu squash? I told my wife, lets buy one and take a chance. Amazing! My wife cooked this squash and it came out deelish. Dessert? My sons inhaled the apple cider doughnuts we bought home for them. Wright's Farm, it was a pleasant surprise to discover your local farmstand.
