When I walked in I could smell the cider donuts frying, so in addition to the bread I got an "apple cider donut bread pudding muffin" Yeah, think about that a minute. The corn I got last month was so good you could eat it raw, and this is a great place to pick up local apples as they come into season. If you visit at just the right time, you might even find some Concord grapes (they're like eating grape juice). The homegrown and local selections change with the seasons (oh the bok choy I got last week was so good too!), and they supplement those items with non-local fare so you can get more of what you need in one stop. There are lots of great farm markets in this area, but I think this one's the best.

Cocktail mixers bottled in glass, made with real sugar and quality juice catch your eye. An array of sauces, pasta, teas, dairy, dressings and fresh desserts to choose from. I left with some arugula and a personal key lime pie. The key lime was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Prices were to be expected, service was decent and plenty of parking out front. We stopped in yesterday to pick up some tomatoes, which are in season now. Heirloom tomatoes are $6.00 a pound, and cherry tomatoes are $6.00 a pint. I really want to support the local farmers, but these prices are outrageous, obnoxious, and downright insulting. Other farms are $3 - $4 per pound. I cannot support price gouging.

This family-run organic farm in New Paltz makes Ossining's farmers' market its home and showcases a large variety of gorgeous vegetables (and some fruit). My favorites this past summer and spring were their sugar snap peas, yellow watermelon, huge selection of greens, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, delicata squash, celery, scallions, salad mix, peppers, eggplants, zucchini, and more. I have to credit Taliaferro for almost single-handedly increasing my vegetable consumption from that of a picky child who eats only corn (I jest, sort of) to me claiming, last night, that I could be a vegetarian if for some reason I needed to... except for beef. I love the challenge of cooking seasonally with their offerings for the week, and they give you a push in the right directions with their newsletter, which lists recipes for some of the more unusual offerings each week.

Upon arrival each person pays a $10 cover charge that you receive a ticket for use in the country store in the amount of $10, so technically you get your money back as long as you buy something. Honestly the visiting experience was only okay, I am not sure I'd go back or recommend it BUT this is tempered by the fact that I did buy the biggest, prettiest mum and I may go back again for another one next year. I definitely have the nicest mum in all of Jersey City. I think it was around $20 for my huge mum and I was going to buy some apple cider donuts, but when I saw they were charging $18 for 12 donuts I put the package back on the shelf.

Honestly best apple cider donuts I've ever had + freshly baked , not stale at all and very soft and fluffy (but you have to buy it in a dozen, you can't buy individual) Lots of apples to choose from ~5-8 kinds from evercrisp to snapdragon to gold rush. Gold rush & pink lady were my favorite. Atmosphere: Loved for fall! There's was live music, plenty of apples and pumpkins to pick from, plenty of benches and seating indoors and outdoors for eating, and areas for children to play Dogs allowed! Service: friendly everywhere!! Price: cheap for entry, food is $$. You have to pay a $10 fee but it goes towards anything you buy. For apple cider & cider donuts I would say worth the price. Apple picking is charged by the pound
