I received the BEST service by Joel! He did a smog check on my auto in 20 min and put his whole heart into it! Friendly fast and a swell guy!! I HIGHLY recommend this shop for your Smog check! Thank you again Joel. read more

I really needed a Smog for my registration to be complete. I work across the street and was going to leave my car there and walk. But the service was so fast, I didn't need to. It was raining and I was in a time crunch. I went right at 9am and I didn't catch the gentleman's name. He was super nice, attentive and informative. He was FAST! He did three smog tests in less 30 minutes. A very short wait for me and he was very nice. I would recommend getting your smog done but he is the only person working which is fine. There are plenty of places to hangout nearby. It is pricey but for the service you get, it is worth it. read more

Zero stars if I could. Only one guy there and he was supposedly having trouble getting his machines to work properly. He took my car in and when I returned, he said he can't smog any cars 2000 or newer because system in Sacramento was down. He forgot to give back my renewal paperwork before I left. so when I came back minutes later, he was smogging another car on a different machine that was newer than 2000 and said it's working again. His price was $85 without coupon. Company's website offered $10 off for any customer lowering the price to $75. I had a coupon for $65 for smog, so clearly he ditched my job, made some bs excuse, and went to the higher paying job. Never going back to this doofus. read more

Fast and Friendly would recommend to all they got me in and out very fast where elsewhere I was told I would have to leave the car and come back because of age (Honda 1997) 101 express will do all my smogs from here on read more

We had a great and friendly experience at 101 Express Smog in Petaluma. We were a bit last minute today and ambitiously brought 2 cars to be smogged. Luis helped us. He was very personable and although there was another car ahead of us, he took the care to check how much time was left and was able to get both of our cars in! We'll definitely be back and will pass the word on that 101 Express Smog is back in business. Thank you Luis! read more

I later found out this is not the same owner as Santa Rosa where I mistakenly made my appointment. The desk person in Petaluma was rude and hostile. When I explained my experience to the Santa Rosa store they offered a deal and most importantlly was not a jerk. Will not be returning to the Petaluma store. read more

Inspector Jira Turner performed the tests on my car... Friendly, kind & helpful. I have been going here for a few years with 2 cars... I like that there is outdoor seating in the shade & he was done within 15 minutes. Price great bc they have coupons that come in the mail! Love these guys! Marybeth T. read more

We are a military family and we move around a lot. Every state has different requirements for registering your vehicles and making them road safe. California requires smog inspections in order to register your vehicle and so after spending our morning at the DMV we found ourselves here. I had called a couple other smog places but they were not very helpful to me. I think this was my third call and the lady on the phone was friendly and helpful and told me to bring the car over right away. When we arrived, it was just her and one technician and there was one person with an appointment ahead of us. We signed our car in and then walked down the row of stores to grab some donuts as a thank you for them getting us in. When we returned, the car was ready to go and they gave us their yelp discount which was about 50% off. We were thrilled about their prompt service, their friendly demeanor, and their pricing. As we got to talking with the lady behind the counter, we found out that she was not only military affiliated but also affiliated to submarines like us. Such a small world! We absolutely will be bringing our other car here this week to do its smog test in order to register that car as well.in fact, I already have an appointment for tomorrow to do just that. In the future, I will absolutely be returning here with the great service, the military friendly team, and the convenient accessibility right off of the freeway in the northern part of Petaluma. What a great way to lower the stress of day spent at the DMV, with something as convenient and personable as this smog inspection business! Who would have thought?! read more

Super friendly and professional. Made online reservation in advance and helpful email/text reminders sent to confirm next day appointment. My appt. time slot was ready and the smog test on my car was completed within 25 minutes as promised. Had chairs in shade to wait as needed. My inspector Luis was very informative about DMV follow-up plan for me and honored their $10 discount coupon from website; $80 cost competitive and a value with discount. Very pleasant experience. I highly recommend this CA certified business! read more

Fast and easy! Used them for both my Duramax and X5 diesel. Was in and out in 15 mins or so on both vehicles, can't ask for much more than that! read more

I really don't like writing negative reviews. There was one guy working there, and I understand that it's the end of the day and you probably just want to go home. However, he was condescending, rude, didn't really give me any advice at all about how to fix why I failed besides driving over 55 mph. He kept saying was that somebody killed the battery. At first he was too lazy to even manually enter the numbers on my registration. He kept asking me why I don't have a barcode on the registration. It's the one I got from the DMV, and he acted like it was somehow a fake. The previous owners of the car and myself can both confirm that the battery has not been dead for quite some time. A number of things were wrong from the start with this worker before the smog test even happened. The guy either needs to get fired or reevaluate his career because clearly he's not good at his job and can't even complete a task without swearing. And at the end of it, on top of all of that, I went to another smog place, and apparently there was no issue. This guy clearly did not know what he was doing. One of the worst customer service experiences, if not the worst that I've ever experienced. Fire the person or shut this place down read more

I had my smog performed yesterday at the Petaluma 101 Express Smog. I had a wonderful experience & will refer anyone I know to this shop. It appeared that Luis single handedly was performing the smog test, as well as all admin related tasks. For as busy as he was in multitasking, he was absolutely pleasant to interact with. He was not hurried, annoyed nor seemed stressed. I was quite impressed with his character & great attitude. There are many smog shops around that I can utilize, however, I will refer & go back to this shop due to the exceptional customer service of Luis. To the owner - he represents your business very well! read more

Easy to book an appointment. Friendly, efficient service. I used to go to another place where I would wait longer for the smog check and pay more. I found them when I needed a last-minute smog check and have gone to them for the last two. Wish I had found them earlier. read more

Went for a smog check. Quick friendly service! Close to my work so a no brainier for me.

Super easy and quick. Highly recommend. Great location. Great service. The app demands I keep writing.

I was looking for a smog test only station. We called for appointment, Luis answered and told me how busy his appointments are but he could fit me in if I was able to come at 2pm and possibly wait. I had misplaced my registration renewal and found it later, realizing I was past due and needed to get the smog asap. It was Hot! That's why I am making a face in the photo. They had a couple of chairs in some shade, thankfully. I feel bad for Luis because it was even hotter inside the shop. Luis was busy when I arrived, was very nice and explained he would do his best to fit me in. I am a patient person and thanked him for fitting me in. A little after 2pm, Luis was able to get my van in and it passed, I was done about 15 minutes later. I could have renewed my registration there on the spot, but I needed to goto the dealership and have my computer updated, due to a recall. I thanked Luis for his time, and friendly professional attitude and told him we would be back with our other cars when they need a smog! read more

101 Express Smog - 101 Express Smog and me in the shade 90+ degree day, Luis finishing smog check on my van. Great work Luis, thanks! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Petaluma, California

was easy making an appointment online. I received text messages reminding me of the date and time the smog was scheduled they were not busy and got to my car right away. the staff was professional and friendly. I waited in a chair outside for about 10-15 minutes and it was finished. they are Star certified and I received the certificate. the only reason I gave only 4 stars is because of the price. I had a $20 off coupon which brought their price down to $51.75 plus an additional $8 for the fee. this was the same price as their advertised special. there are many other places in the area that charge around $30 -$40 for the smog. some of them offer a car wash. overall I was very satisfied with everything except the cost. read more

Realized we needed to get our car smogged before we could register it. 101 Smog was easy to make an appointment with, using their online portal. I generally refrain from writing reviews but thought this was as good a reason as any! Not so much because the service was white glove or extensively lavish, but because it didn't pose the inconveniences so often found at other auto service locations. The service was fast, convenient, and completely transparent. This, of course, is a huge difference from the expected delays and uncertainty over what that mechanic over there is really doing to your car. If anything, I would strongly recommend this location given its ease and transparency (Read: honesty). I mean, when it comes to fixing your car, aren't those the largest pain points? read more

We had no problems with getting a smog done on our two older than 2000 vehicles. You can't use the coupon on older vehicles. This place was recommended by our mechanic at Twin Oaks Garage. Work was done quickly and on time. No problems. Friendly and efficient. We will be back again. read more

Stopped in to get a Smog Check for my father's truck. My father passed away 10 months ago and I had been putting this off. Both gentlemen were absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this smog shop. Thank you both. read more

Spent 45 minutes waiting for the smog check to be completed, was then told the equipment could not get a read on my car The guys working there said the equipment is old, faulty, rats chew through the wires and this is the third time this month they've had this issue. When I expressed my dismay at why this place is still operating and it's not ok to waste people's time, was told that I was a problem customer and asked to leave the premises. What a joke! I have been bringing my cars here for years. Always a speedy experience and the new ability to book appointments ahead of time the last couple of years has been a great add. Completely dishonest, they charged us $75, a simple hose was disconnected he showed it to me I said let me connect it, he said no I will have to bring it back, then he wanted to charge me another $41.00+ $8.00 for the certificate. I did Not bring it back I got it smogged at Cheap Smog on Petaluma hill road with a Groupon for $25.00 + $8.00 for the certificate.
