My entire family with at least 12 cars goes here for their smog tests. Geoffrey (Jeff) and his wife are super nice people that get you in and out. We've never had a problem getting our cars passed. Once we had a fail because the engine light was on, but Jeff told us what was wrong and we were able to fix it. Their prices have remained $59 forever, so the price is good, the owners couldn't be nicer, and you're in and out right away. If your car needs a smog check, I highly recommend them! read more

First I went to the Cheap Smog store down the street, but they were closed (despite their hours saying they were open) so I turned around and drove up to Roseland Smog, and am I glad I did! I've been here many times over the past 6+ years. This is my go to smog shop! They are fast, friendly, and affordable! On my most recent visit I called ahead to see if they could take me in, because it was a Saturday and I usually try to go on week days because I figure it's a less busy time. The lady on the phone told me they are 1st come 1st serve / no appointments. And that they would be open til 2pm. I headed right down there, and got there literally right before 3 other people! I was very happy with my impeccable timing. My truck was done in 15min. I've had nothing but GREAT experiences all 4 or 5 times I've been here!!! I highly recommend this smog shop!!!!! read more

I have driven the same truck for 42 years. No shop will do these anymore as it takes 4 times as long. I paid my registration and tried shops for 2 months. I first went there years ago when I was rejected by other- cheap place down the street that didn't want to do a Van (that took a little bit more work to do). Cost was the same here as there. The only difference is Jeff and he's quite a finds. Talk about nice people. All 3 of my vehicles come here. He given me good advice on how to deal with those engine lights. If you don't know the trick You will be coming back again and again and failing because you didn't drive it long enough at the right speed. Yes you have to get an appointment because some days he can be booked but he's worth it. read more

You make an appointment and your time is available when you get that, no waiting around. Spotless waiting area and besides great magazines, they have very cool car ads from 60'-70s magazines framed and hung on the walls. By the time you read three of four of them, your car is finished. Went here based on Yelp reviews. Thanks guys! Walked in and was greeted by a cool older guy. Said someone else was late, since I was on time- he'd put my car on first. Sweet! In and out in 20 minutes. For real. Less than $60 out the door. For an SUV to boot. And it passed. Gotta love that! There's a pretty cool woman who runs the office and an AWESOME dog to hang and chat with while you wait. Coffee, cool mags & local nostalgia to browse, this Mom & Pop type place is now my go to. Took my Mustang to them because it had to go to a test only station. They were recommended by another smog shop. Left my car for an hour like they said. When I returned they said they couldn't smog my car due to a massive EVAP leak. I left and returned to my normal smog shop and he tested the EVAP 3 times and it passed every time. There are 2 hoses on the charcoal canister the small hose goes back to the tank and allows the EVAP machine to properly test the fuel tank. The second bigger hose vents the fuel tank out the charcoal canister vents and fill the shop up with gas fumes. You could clearly see where the smog tech at Roseland Smog put his vise grips on the wrong hose and failed the test. I called them back when I found this out at the smog shop I normally use to see if I could bring it back to get it re tested and lady who answers the phone became very rude and combative because I told them that it looked like a mistake was made on the hose that was clamped for the test. I asked her to talk to the smog tech and she very rudely put me on hold. When she came back on the line she told me that her tech said he did it right and to take my care somewhere else and that the shop I normally use EVAP machine was wrong. My normal smog shop said take it across the street they are a test only shop. I drove across the street and he smoged my Mustang without an issue. It cost me the sale of the car due the the rudeness and not knowing how to properly test the EVAP system. I will never do business with them again and I will tell everyone what a terrible shop they are. I also am going to file a complaint with the BAR. read more

If you live in Sonoma County, it is no longer necessary to dread going for a smog check. Having your car registration arrive with the indication that a smog check is required has always been accompanied by a sinking feeling. Past experiences included waiting long past your appointment time, trying to find a shady place to wait, or sitting in an open waiting room that included the smells of racing car engines and oil. Not anymore! Roseland Smog is owned by the nicest of people. The waiting room is clean, with magazines to read and water to drink. This was my second visit to Roseland Smog and I had the same positive experience. My car was taken exactly at my appointment time and the promised 20 minute experience was right on the button. Only the fun of talking to the great couple that own the place kept me from leaving in 20 minutes. Oh yes, and $59 for the check was fair and reasonable. I'll be back again! read more

These guys are great! Hardly ever a wait, very reasonable price and really nice folks. This is my go-to smog place for all my vehicles. The first few times going was a little challenging because you have to make a little u-turn after turning onto Petaluma Hill Rd from SR Ave. But it's not that big a deal and worth it. They collected the necessary info from me, then immediately took my car into the shop for the test. I was on my way home after about 15 minutes. I was impressed.
