We were here for late lunch, and walked in, inside it's a little mess, with boxes all over the floor. But we are hungry so we ordered. The food came quickly, i get chicken lettuce, it's dry and you suppose to add their store source and wrapped with lettuce, it's then delicious! I used up all my lettuce when i just ate half of the chicken, so i ask the waiter to see whether i could get more lettuce. She said 1 dollar for one lettuce piece, i think it's a little crazy, gave up!

Found this place from the Valet attendant from the Grand Naniloa. While I was looking st the menu I saw Duck soup with veggies. I had to try it. I wanted to try their chow mein too. So I asked if I could get duck and veggie soup without the noodles. The duck veggie soup was delicious. I loved the broth and the duck wasn't fatty. It was very tasty. I would indulge in that again! Since I ordered To-Go they packaged the veggies and the duck separately. The chow mein was alright. It was good but it didn't taste like Bay Area chow mein, which I was craving. So it's not their fault I thought it was ok. I can't believe expect to find the same style cooking since I'm in another state. For the Big Island it was delicious. Obviously I couldn't eat l of it but I had a fridge in my room, so it worked out to eat it the next day. Service was amazing! The two ladies that day were so friendly and happy. I appreciate their flexibility in asking no noodles in my duck noodle soup. The place has seating and accommodates social distancing. It was clean too. I'm coming for that duck soup!!

Good restaurant with plenty of seating and parking. They are usually very busy and service may be delayed as they seem to be short staffed. The food here is delicious! We had the garlic chicken, honey walnut shrimp, vegetable chow fun and summer roll. The garlic fried chicken is off the charts! Fried extra crispy with tons of garlic. The summer roll is also delicious. The honey walnut shrimp wasn't it for me. I like my home walnut shrimp coated and fried and then topped with the honey sauce. This shrimp came out just pan fried with the sauce over it. No batter coating. The vegetable chow fun was delicious as well. I would definitely go back but would opt out of getting the shrimp again.

This place never fails I can wait as long as it takes. Everyone is very friendly no matter how busy they are.

Cake noodles were terrible. They used to be good several years ago but it seems like they've just lost their touch and push out quantity more than quality. The staff was very pleasant so i'm sad that they would be proud to serve the food that they do

1+1=Ono Grinds Store front and ambiance isn't this place's strong points. But if you want a good meal after a swim at Carl Smith Beach, or before heading out of Hilo, this place offers good food and service with Aloha! Our friend who has lived on the Eastside since the 80's said this is the place for great duck pho... not sure if it's on the menu, but it is worth asking for! Basil and bean sprouts were fresh, soup was hot and the duck was savory and plentiful. Really good price, we'll be back again!

Great food and friendly staff, I have been eating there since 2006 and have not been disappointed yet, get the special fried rice, now I'm hungry, think I'll make a take-out order.

If I could leave 0 stars I would . I came in today for just the roast duck and shrimp fried rice ,…read moreand let me tell you, I should've just ate the paper menu because it probably would've tasted better . My first red flag was when the table in the front had a hair in their food .... But hey that's beside the point. The shrimp fried rice had 7 shrimp...7!!! It's not seasoned at all just egg and boiled shrimp , not even a lil green onion or soy sauce ..then the duck was like greasy and lacked luster and I asked for the duck "sauce "/ drippings and I was given hosin sauce ( ew) but I ate some because I'm not wasting my money lol. Did I mention I payed $58....... And for that much I would've expected the customer service to be top tier ... and no shocker the food matched the customer service 0/10 again. I'm not mad just disappointed. First restaurant in Hilo -0 /10 .

The restaurant itself seems like your typical Chinese restaurant setup with some booths along the window and larger round tables in the middle. It is a smaller restaurant, so maybe 10ish tables are inside max. We try to mix things up every time we come, but we always get the salt pepper pork ribs and the hot and sour soup! I find most places are either a hot or miss with the soup, but they are definitely my favorite place that makes it! And the pork ribs are the best. As my mom puts it, they're the perfect accompaniment to any meal since they're so crispy and tasty. She even commented she would get just the ribs so she can "snack" on it while watching the Super Bowl. Service can be a bit on the slower side, but every time we came, there's only been one person in the front answering the phone while catering to the people dining in and I believe they make the food when you order it so definitely not a quick place to eat if you're short on time but I find the wait always worth it.

The servers were running around all night, and it seemed that they were a little bit understaffed. However, they still did their best to attend to us, and food came out promptly. As most other pho shops, they provide plenty of bean sprouts, mint, lemons, and sauces (oyster sauce/Sriracha) to enjoy. Pho Rare Beef (6.5/10) - the broth was good, flavorful, rich and salty as expected from Vietnamese pho. As this spot is kind of a Viet/Chinese fusion, don't go in expecting the best pho of your life. However, the broth is definitely delicious and will fix your pho cravings - only comment is regarding the beef itself. Some of the pieces were definitely a little thicker, tougher, and at points difficult to chew. The beef was not then these sliced into the brisket that I'm used to finding, but that's OK Overall, pretty good pho spot on the Big Island with quite tasty broth. Only wish that the beef was either thinner and easier to chew, or more tender.

We ordered the risotto, fresh catch (marlin), crispy rice, gnocchi, and finished off with the mac nut ganache mascarpone pots de crème. We did share a Lemon peel lemonade cocktail. The Lemon peel lemonade was basically spiked lemonade. Well balanced for being a tart oriented drink, but I didn't care for the floating bits. The risotto which comes in full and half order, was very rich and had chunks of mushrooms for flavor. We're glad we got the half as this was a heavy, rich, and cheesy entrée on its own. If you love risotto, you will love this dish. The marlin was perfectly cooked and balanced out with a locally inspired vegetable succotash. Fried bits of kalo were also added in for added texture. The special and new item, the gnocchi was the star of the show. This is by far the fluffiest gnocchi we've ever had. Crispy on the outside, little potato clouds of fluff on the inside. The gnocchi came over a tasty sauce with bits of fried onion for absolute perfection. The crisp rice was recommended by Yelpers and it was alright, crispy rice with a spoon of poke. Not bad, but did not live up to the hype. Get another order of the gnocchi instead. It's fairly rare to see pots de crème on restaurant menus, specials or not, so we had to get this. It came in a cute little glass jar, with rich chocolate and mascarpone flavor with a hint of mac nut. This desert was an absolutely delicious perfect end to the meal. You can make reservations online, street parking is quite limited, and it can get busy as the night goes on, so recommended to get an earlier dinning time. Staffs regularly checked in on us and were polite and efficient.
