Nails are not properly filed around cuticle area

me and two friends went. Def would not recommend. They kept stopping our service to tend to other clients. my nail lady stopped after putting my tips on and spent about 20m doing someone's lashes. also, my nails look terrible because they were rushing. They're bulky, not properly filed/sanded and just a hot mess.

Under new management and it's great!!! Got my nails and feet done and I love it!!! I have this issue with my baby toe that happens every winter and usually I have to go to a foot doctor to have it resolved. Tina was able to get it resolved for me!! I love #1 nail spa now!!! Will definitely be back!!!!!!

FANTASTIC!! I called prior to coming just to check pricing and then arriving at the salon the energy was phenomenal!!! Had a pedi done and fill in and Gwen did wonders on my feet and Tom did outstanding on my fill in! I will definitely be coming back since it's close In the area! THANKS AGAIN

Why does this look like a weeks worth of grow out?

I have tried to give this place a fair chance. I used to go here when they first opened. It was just the husband and wife. The wait time was terrible because they didn't have enough staff. I found another salon closer to my work. A few months ago, I decided to give them another chance. I was in on Saturday 10/16/21 for a dip color service on my natural nails. Tina must have been in a rush because they did not look good, they were too thick, shape was different from nail to nail, and the edges were rough. I had rhinestones applied to two fingers for $8 additional. The stones started coming off that night. Fast forward to Monday, one and a half days later. I go into the salon to have them repaired. Martin said he could fix them. He tells me that I shouldn't have had the stones applied to the dip powder. He said I should have told Tina (owner) that she couldn't apply them to dip. REALLY? He then says that the stones fell off because I didn't take care of them. Uhm, Hello. I had my nails done, went on a dinner date with my husband on Sat evening, Sunday to breakfast, and Monday to my OFFICE. I went to the salon immediately after work. While Martin is doing my nails, I have to point out SEVERAL issues (too thick, not going to the edge, a bump where he applied too much powder) that he didn't see to notice. He left black color on my fingers (I had to ask for the acetone to take it off my SKIN). After several phone calls to his wife (Tina) he did give me a gift certificate for the $8 that I paid for the rhinestones. Not once did he apologize for the inconvenience of me having to come back and spend 90 minutes of my day so he could try to fix the awful mess I came in with. I will NOT be going back

Before

my experience here was TERRIBLE. there is an older lady, i think the oldest lady here with glasses and short light brown hair. she DOES NOT need to be an eyebrow technician, better yet, she shouldn't be in charge of waxing off ANYTHING from anyone's body. i came here with beautiful thick, naturally arched eye brows, and she completely disregarded my requests to only clean up the shape that i came in with. basically, she removed most of the tail of my brow, and thinned them so badly. i would never suggest this place to get your brows waxed. EVER. completely disappointed and HIGHLY upset. Photos uploaded are before and after photos of my eyebrows!!!

Tina is great at what she does and the best thing about it when I walk into the salon she smiles and calls me by name.

I was extremely excited to have found this Ms. April, after looking at reviews and finding that the…read moreother Electrolysis that I was looking at was closed, in order to better prepare for seeing patients during a Pandemic. After calling and leaving a message, she was quick to return my call. It was like others had said. She was easy to talk to and it was if we had known one another forever. I scheduled with April and arrived for my appointment, with no issues. She treated me for about 45mins and was most pleasant the whole time. Again, her bedside manner is spectacular. She made mention that she had elderly family members and that she may have to abruptly cancel, should something come up with them. I get that. Life happens. I scheduled using the app for my follow up appointment for a Saturday. The day before said appointment, Ms. April called and left me a message that she was going to have to reschedule because it was her birthday, and her kids were taking her on a surprise getaway...Again, I get that (although professionalisms would have called for the kids to check the schedule...first blatant red flag). However, what I didn't and don't get is how one could just blow a client off. Rescheduled my appointment, again through the app for that Monday. I text her and sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes. After texting again and calling with no response, I got out the car and approached to knock on the door. The lights were on, and I could see that someone was in the office space. I went back to call again. Still, no response. It has been a week and a half. I still have not heard back from Ms. April. If she thought my case too difficult or just didn't want to pick up new clients, I surely wish she would have simply said so. It would have saved us both a lot of time. Luckily, I was so distraught after letting all my hairs grow out in preparation for my treatment (only to be stood up) that I ended up calling back the Electroliysis in Cary. She has given me a straight forward plan of attack for my treatment plan, unlike Ms. April who told me to "pick a side" that I wanted to work on when I came back. Maybe I dodged a bullet? Just be leery! She is definitely a kind person, but less than reliable.

After having a busy day with Doctor appointments, I decided to take myself and my parents out to…read moreget a manicure and pedicure. All three of us had birthdays in August, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a treat as well. Manicures and pedicures are not typically my thing, so I didn't readily have someplace in mind. I did a Google and Yelp search to find a place that had good reviews. I came across Posh Nails off of US Highway 17 in Garner and decided to go there and see if they allow walk-ins. Luckily, when I arrived they had availability and did allow walk-ins so the three of us were seated right away for our pedicures. It's a nice set up at this facility. They also have free beverages available while you're being serviced. Christina was my nail technician. She did a great job with my pedicure and my manicure. My parents pedicure and manicure also went well. There were two things that I observed during my visit that threw me for a loop. (1) I was unaware of an additional service charge separate from the cost for the manicure and the pedicure. My first thought was that the beverages aren't really free, and there's a secret charge for the beverages but when I inquired about what it was for, I was told it's because I had two different services done. That struck me as very odd. Some nail salons actually give you a discount if you're having a combination manicure and pedicure service. This was the very first time that I heard of a service charge because I had two services done instead of one. I was eager to see the bill so that I could see exactly how it was listed, but conveniently enough, I did not receive an itemized bill just a credit card receipt. (2) My technician set up a small fan so that I could have my nails dried before I left the facility; however, my mother's technician tried to have my mom leave right after he finished painting her nails without drying them first. It took my father's technician to point out to my mother's technician that he needed to dry my mom's nails first because they were still wet. I was quite surprised that my mother's technician thought it would be OK to not dry her nails before letting her leave the facility. Overall, our visit went well, but because of those two instances I mentioned above, I have reduced my score from 4 to 3.

Disappointed with the lack of professionalism…read more I've been a regular customer at Nail 1st for quite some time, coming in twice a month for my nail services. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was very disappointing. I had an appointment scheduled for 11:00 a.m., and upon arrival, I was told to wait. After 20 minutes, I asked the owner about the delay and was informed that the technician had an emergency and left. I asked who would be doing my nails, and the owner simply said, "whoever is available." I continued waiting for up to 35 minutes, and no one came to help me. I eventually let the owner know I was leaving, and all she said was, "I'm sorry--come back tomorrow." I understand emergencies happen, but there was no communication, no attempt to find a solution, and no regard for my time as a loyal customer. Sadly, I won't be returning.

The foot care and scrub was mediocre at best. The end result of the nail polishing was good, however it took two different technicians to finally get what I asked for. Not a big deal. I was happy with how it turned out and both technicians were pleasant. Next up, the manicures. The technician asked what I wanted and let me get make this clear, he gave me exactly what I asked for. The design, the style, he did what he was asked. However if you're looking for all the bells and whistles, this is not your place. My cuticles were in desperate need of some TLC...a little trim and oil would have been nice. It just feels like a rushed job with some missed steps. One thing they are not missing is their overpriced charges. The manicure (with tips) and pedicure together cost $175. Maybe this is reasonable and I'm the one that's out of touch, but for this price, I would appreciate a little more with the service.

While waiting for my appointment, a massage therapist walked out into the lobby, with her mask down, eating a snack and playing on her phone. I know people are at work and need breaks; I just did not think this was professional in the front lobby of the spa. My appointment was at 5:15pm. No one said anything to me about my massage therapist running behind. When I asked if she was late or what was going on, the receptionist's response was "Well, I have only been here half a day, so I don't know." ...... (????) When she returned, she did not apologize or provide an update; she simply sat back down at the front desk. My therapist came out shortly after to greet me and walk me back. There was no apology from her for running late and she did not introduce herself at all. She simply asked if there was any area she needed to focus on and left the room for me to undress. However, all of this being said, the massage was great and definitely worth it. I did ask my therapist what her name was when leaving, and the receptionist was very sweet and helpful while checking out. I just wish there would have been better service from the front end, so I would have been less annoyed going into my massage.

Very poor value.
