    Spicy Kona Crab

Before I get into my review, I want to highly recommend visiting during the day. The views are incredible. There is a reason why this place is known for the views! When you arrive, the host kindly greets you. I knew in that moment, we were off to a great start! The waitress was also so sweet and gave great recommendations. I asked for a table by the balcony so I can enjoy the views and got exactly what I expected! I ordered the Heat Wave cocktail, it was so yummy. If you like tequila this is a great option. I then started with the sourdough bread rolls, SO GOOD. Save a couple to go with your dinner, trust me on this. Then ordered the Spicy Kona Crab pasta... probably the best dish I've ever had! It was so full of flavor and light enough to not feel so filling. The portion size is very generous, and remember those rolls I told you to save? Dip them in the sauce! I finished the night with their version of an espresso martini made with rum, it was so decadent. Can't recommend this place enough!

I am writing about the Sunday AYCE brunch at 1 Kitchen. We loved it so much we went 2 Sundays in a row. My favorites were the ahi, poke, salmon and mini loco moco. My suggestion is to call the day of your visit to confirm what is being offered that day because as we learned the choices can change week by week.

We had such a wonderful experience at 1 Kitchen. The service from Ryan was absolutely top-notch -- warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. He made the whole evening feel special without ever being over the top. The food was lovely -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can taste the care in every dish. And the atmosphere? Unreal. Dining while looking out over the ocean at Hanalei Bay feels like something out of a postcard. Relaxed, breezy, and truly North Shore perfection. Highly recommend 1 Kitchen for an amazing meal with exceptional service and unforgettable views.

Sucha beautiful property! Drinks were delicious. Food was yummy. The customer service was superb. We went to celebrate my birthday and they went above and beyond to make me feel so special. I would definitely go back again!

The best breakfast buffet I've ever had. Taking into account that this was given to me 2 days in a row at no charge, I thought it would be fair not to give 5 stars because I'm (probably) slightly biased. Word of advice: don't leave your food unattended on your desk because the birds will devour it when you leave.

Amazon views. Amazing service. Amazing food and drinks! This is one spot that we always return to when we are in Kauai!

Dinner. Great people and the setting is drop dead beautiful! The menu is very small which can be ok, but it was just average with incredible prices. The Four Seasons in Lanai is a great example of huge price with amazing food, unfortunately here, it just the former, price no delivery. Nice but not worth the money.

Came for Sunday brunch and while the food was good, there were limited selections on their buffet style menu. For breakfast only a few choices, and while more offerings on the lunch and desert side, still didn't deliver. What bothered me most was the $20 they charge for valet even when you're spending a couple hundred dollars for brunch (not a hotel guest) Service was ok. They offer bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys but you have to flag down the servers. Hostess staff was friendly. Maybe if you're staying at the hotel and spending over a grand per night they treat you better.

Paella- shrimp, scallops, calamari, Portuguese sausage... yummy

We started out with the sourdough pull apart rolls. It's served with a delicious creamy butter with hints of salty/sweet and the tiniest hint of heat. If you like King's Hawaiian rolls, this is that much better fresh out of the oven. We also enjoyed the pork belly, which was very tender and not too fatty. For our main course, we had the seafood paella served over the best rice. Lots of protein on the paella- shrimp, scallops, chicken, calamari, and Portuguese sausage. So yummy . We finished the evening with the pineapple crème brûlée. So light and creamy and perfectly prepared. We would eat here again without hesitation. We loved it. We had a fantastic server who was attentive and thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu. Her name was Mokihana. The restaurant itself is very comfortable with a very natural environment decorated with natural wood, rope and linens.

Tonight we were expecting exemplary food and service at 1 Kitchen, and it fell short. It has received rave reviews on Yelp and was highly recommended to us by friends who frequent Kauai. We had a 5:30pm reservation. Although we showed up early, we were asked to wait till 5:30. So we headed to the bar. The Princeville Mai Tai was superb. At the appointed time, we were escorted by our server to our outdoor table and the incredible view. Our server who has been with the restaurant since it opened was friendly and engaging. The Sourdough Pull-Apart bread and the Wagyu Meatballs were exceptionally tasty. The Shoots & Labne salad was incredible. I told our server that I'm a big fan of Ahi, but her endorsement for the Kanpachi, which is often hard to find on a menu, made it the obvious choice. I was told it was a 13-ounce serving, which didn't seem daunting to me, given my love for seafood. I will say the $72 serving could have fed several, but it lacked the moisture I would have expected. It was dry. As the evening passed, it was rare to see our server, less to have her stop by our table to check on us. After I had gotten half-way thru the fish, John, the restaurant's new manager, stopped by. We had pleasant conversation about our Midwestern roots and I was trying to explain the fish was underwhelming. Unfortunately, he was called away and never returned. After my half-eaten fish had sat on the table for 20-25 minutes, a runner came by to ask if we wanted it boxed. We declined. At this point, we were done for the evening. No dessert, no final after dinner cocktail. What surprised me was our server's absence, especially for such a renown restaurant. I can't tell if they were short staffed or what. And I can't understand how the server didn't sense our dissatisfaction. We left disappointed.

I went to Kauai Island with my friends for the first time in a while. We enjoyed dinner at a nice, atmospheric place there. The people working there weren't necessarily friendly, but they were definitely good-looking. It cost over $100 per person -- about $500 for the three of us. The next morning, we went to a breakfast buffet that was around $60 per person, and honestly, it felt much better than dinner. I went to Kauai Island with my friends for the first time in a while. Great view of the mountains and beach. Pricey menu items but I guess you're paying for the view mostly. Plus people who stay here probably don't care about the price anyways. Everything we ordered was delicious. Drinks were all very good, with some tropical hints/tastes. One negative thing is that in the carrot hummus dip, the veggies are not freshly cut. The carrot strips are dry, the celery piece is a bit brown on the edge. I'd expect them to be fresher looking, considering it's from a high end restaurant.

The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.

Unfortunately, the pastry chef was not there that night but there is a great ice cream shop near by! This restaurant is great for hosting large parties as there were several including our own. It was so good and the serving size was very large, I would definitely order again!!

We'll definitely be back earlier next time. The wife who took our order was very patient while we looked over the menu since we missed out on the Benedict . From the time we ordered, it took about 25 minutes for the food to be ready . We ordered the burrito , which was really hearty and filling. I ended up sharing it with my husband. There were lots of eggs and the salsa verde that came with it was pretty good, though it could've used a little salt . The meat pieces were on the smaller side, and I think I found one piece of Portuguese sausage. We also tried the pork verde sandwich , which was really flavorful . The chips and country potato sticks were a bit overdone for my taste, but I really liked the garlic aioli . It paired well with both the country potatoes and the burrito and tied everything together nicely. Ambiance was casual and very Kauai, with covered picnic tables and the local chickens wandering around while we waited Overall, a solid breakfast stop with friendly service and we're looking forward to coming back early next time to try the eggs Benedict
