After checking out bartending school in NYC, I decided to go to All Star Bartending in Farmingdale, NY. The price was right, the location was better for me and after finding and attending a Living Social 16 hour deal, I decided this was the school i wanted to continue my 40 hour course with. They sent me daily email reminders of class and even cancellations. The instructors there were good, Chris was good but Max made everyone laugh and enjoy the class even more. I highly recommend that if you are planning on taking bartending class, All Star is a school you take into consideration.

I just finished the 2 week bartending certification including ATAP at 1800 Bartend in Farmingdale last week. It's right next to Adventureland. The course packs a lot of information in during a short period of time. We easily learned over 100 drinks. The school is set up like a bar. Jerry the instructor is hilarious and highly entertaining. I call him the YODA of bartending. He probably could have been a comedian in another life. The class was very enjoyable, stress free and the small group size was ideal for maximum hands on practice making all the drinks. From rocks drinks, to sours, shots, martinis, and mixed drinks, we learned it all. I even made a few new friends in the class that I will be keeping in touch with. There was a guest bartending night at a bar in Coram to serve drinks if you brought friends and a test at the end of the 2 weeks to make sure you have the main drinks down. Since the class ended I have been in touch with Richard who helps the graduates with job placement. He has already given me a few leads. I learned so many techniques, drink recipes and insider tips during this short course that have helped me tremendously on the job. Plus, the class was so much fun!
