I just finished the 2 week bartending certification including ATAP at 1800 Bartend in Farmingdale last week. It's right next to Adventureland. The course packs a lot of information in during a short period of time. We easily learned over 100 drinks. The school is set up like a bar. Jerry the instructor is hilarious and highly entertaining. I call him the YODA of bartending. He probably could have been a comedian in another life. The class was very enjoyable, stress free and the small group size was ideal for maximum hands on practice making all the drinks. From rocks drinks, to sours, shots, martinis, and mixed drinks, we learned it all. I even made a few new friends in the class that I will be keeping in touch with. There was a guest bartending night at a bar in Coram to serve drinks if you brought friends and a test at the end of the 2 weeks to make sure you have the main drinks down. Since the class ended I have been in touch with Richard who helps the graduates with job placement. He has already given me a few leads. For the money, I learned alot and thoroughly enjoyed 1800 Bartend. I'm looking forward to starting my side hustle bartending and will keep you posted on my journey. On the…read moreGroupon and their website it says they have days available through the weekday and Saturdays. This was the only reason I purchased them for weekday availability as it is very difficult for me to take off work on a Saturday. When I called to schedule, I was told that the course is not 8 hours and more like 4-5 hours & that they only have them available on Saturdays. I was very disappointed to hear that I was mislead by the Groupon and their website. I went to their Instagram page & they had a post that showed the dates available to schedule for the certification class. Along with the dates was an excerpt saying that you can message them to request a weekday for an extra cost. I messaged them through that specific post explaining my situation and they deleted the post and never responded to me. I also left a message on their website as well & they never got back to me. I am very disappointed as I was super interested in attending and would've certainly posted about it and recommended other people to attend & attend other events, or gifted to others. Edit: I knew the owner would respond and that is why I included that it is written on YOUR website and YOUR instagram page that you have weekdays available. It's not just misinformation through Groupon, it's you too!
