Here is an honest, updated, disappointing review, not from over 3 years ago like the others. I took the two-week course earlier this summer. The class was long and the employees did not seem to care too much about their jobs. I did learn how to make drinks that I never knew before, which was a plus. I had asked the owner after graduation how to go about searching for a job in another state, when he told me he would set me up through the website, to search for an our of state job. Even on the website it goes into Nationwide Job Placement. Emphasis on "Nationwide". I contacted the owner of this establishment, who I spoke directly to about me moving. He responded immediately, sending me directions on how to use Indeed . com . If I knew that I would be redirected to using Indeed to search for a job, I would not have ever even signed up for this course. They took my money and could care less about helping me with a job afterwards. I hope my review helps others who may be looking to work out of state. I stand by my review, and wish the website and the use of language such as "national" and "nationwide" were not as misleading. More importantly, I wish the information that was told to my face was true. very disappointing being taken advantage of, and not given any help after graduation. National Bartender School took me under their wings knowing nothing about making drinks or working behind the bar to in little under a week knowing over 30 drinks off the top of me head like it was instinctive !! I wasn't sure if I had what it takes to be a bartender. There are so many drinks and so many ingredients! How do people remember everything? So, I visited the NBS of Woodbridge to get a better feel for the school and what it had to offer. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff and decided to enroll! You have the option of a 1 Week Course (8 hours a day) or a 2 Week Course (4 hours a day). If you choose the 2 Week Course, like I did, the school is very flexible and offers 3 different times of the day to attend (Mornings, Afternoons and Nights). Everyday you're taught a new lesson by Lambert. His lessons are interesting as well as informative. You will learn how to properly mix drinks with ease as well as discover interesting historical facts about alcohol. You are definitely going to work hard in order to get your diploma. However, in the end it is worth it because you are so finely trained that you will have no problem finding employment. I'm so glad I finally took this class! Jesse makes it so fun and easy to learn. He teaches hands on, is very attentive to students and doesn't let anyone get left behind. He works with you until you know what you're doing. The binder you get on the first day goes over so many recipes, more than what we can go over in class. Take notes during the videos ( I took this class during the pandemic so the first "week" was through video lessons) and the hands on lessons will come naturally! There are 4 bar set ups in the Woodbridge location which made it easy to pair up and rotate (bartender/customer) and everyone got a chance to practice a lot everyday. They make sure you're 100% comfortable and confident before moving onto the exam. THEY WANT YOU TO PASS! They do everything in your power to help you, the rest is up to you. I took the one week course, 9:00-5:30pm. At first there is a lot of new drinks, measurements, terminologies to learn may be over whelming the first couple days. But the staff and the way they train is great! Very laid back. It's honestly just practicing making the same drinks over and over again. Anybody can be a licensed bartender at this school.
