That whole experience aside has been completely fucking trumped by what…read morehappened afterwards: The maitre'd Syed R, registered himself a little Yelp account and got in touch with me Monday September 12, 2011 and had the following to say: "We are in the process of contacting yelp in regard to this blatant lie of a you have written...the bride and the parents and the rest of 190 people enjoyed except for yourself .....this is what your cousin wrote....and we have sent a copy to Yelp and our attorney..... " So first impression: Lakeside Manor does not seem to be a fan of free speech based on that e-mail. The subjective experience and opinions of someone there (note my Yelp checkin) apparently are not worth politely responding to, as they try to address their customer service issues to provide a better experience to the family wedding party, rather they would like the review removed as if it never happened and to threaten a lawsuit in an attempt to dial back free speech and have a chilling effect on public participation when you are less than pleased with a local business because every time you don't give a five star review, you might get sued. This is a fucking disgusting and morally reprehensible attempt to toll the freedoms we all take for granted. - but good thing the law is on my side, since you do not need to look hard to find a quote from Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman that no Yelp user has ever been successfully sued for their reviews. Good thing I forwarded a copy of that e-mail to my fucking attorney - wait, I am a fucking attorney. So when you use LAKESIDE MANOR that is the kind of charming customer service you receive. Oh and on top of the Yelp message, everyone in your family is going to get an angry phone call from Syed R too, if you give anything less than five stars. Because you know, one Yelp review from someone states away is *that* big of a deal it is worth bothering everyone in my extended family. Apparently I am the only one who thinks the entire situation is a little fucking stupid, very fucking ridiculous, and even more fucking childish. The arcade is right off the main thoroughfare that runs right along the shore which may make parking a bit tricky during beach season, however during off season (when we went), you can arguably park right in front of the arcade without much issue. The arcade contains mostly redemption games - games that reward tickets usually based on the skills of the player, which in turn can be redeemed for prizes. There are a handful of claw machines and several string cutting games that offer generous prizes (PS5s and like-value). There are also a few pay-to-win games that will generate a prize every time. There is a vast selection of redeemable prizes which is of decent quality making your gaming experience worthwhile. If you're wondering, I've been told that the ownership of The Game Room and Bev & Wally's have been consolidated, however the two are not physically connected, and at present time (last quarter 2023, first quarter 2024) the Game Room is closed for renovations, I believe. The staff that works at Bev & Wally's Arcade are incredibly friendly and kind. The one's we've interacted with are truly about the experience of the children. Bev & Wally's Arcade also host parties for various occasions, and sometimes hosting fundraising events in which they offer some promotions. Overall, a nice arcade to go on a rainy day during off season, and a staple of the Keansburg area.

I would not recommend staying at Holly Hill Motel in Keansburg, NJ. We noticed before going to bed…read morethat the door lock in Room 6 was broken and would not properly secure the door. In my experience, the room was not safe due to this issue. We did not feel comfortable staying overnight and left early as a result. Despite providing photo evidence, the property and booking platform refused to issue a refund, which was very frustrating. A working lock is the bare minimum for any hotel. Stay here at your own risk.
