My daughter had her wedding at the Gramercy at Lakeside Manor in Hazlet last weekend. I'm still both smiling and crying over how beautiful and fun it was thanks to the Grammacy Everything from start to finish was perfect! ! The staff guided us through every step from the ceremony to the cocktail hour through the dinner.I have yet to see such an amazing cocktail hour and Venetian hour. I was here for a wedding. That whole experience aside has been completely fucking trumped by what happened afterwards: The maitre'd Syed R, registered himself a little Yelp account and got in touch with me Monday September 12, 2011 and had the following to say: "We are in the process of contacting yelp in regard to this blatant lie of a you have written...the bride and the parents and the rest of 190 people enjoyed except for yourself .....this is what your cousin wrote....and we have sent a copy to Yelp and our attorney..... " So first impression: Lakeside Manor does not seem to be a fan of free speech based on that e-mail. The subjective experience and opinions of someone there (note my Yelp checkin) apparently are not worth politely responding to, as they try to address their customer service issues to provide a better experience to the family wedding party, rather they would like the review removed as if it never happened and to threaten a lawsuit in an attempt to dial back free speech and have a chilling effect on public participation when you are less than pleased with a local business because every time you don't give a five star review, you might get sued. This is a fucking disgusting and morally reprehensible attempt to toll the freedoms we all take for granted. - but good thing the law is on my side, since you do not need to look hard to find a quote from Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman that no Yelp user has ever been successfully sued for their reviews. Good thing I forwarded a copy of that e-mail to my fucking attorney - wait, I am a fucking attorney. So when you use LAKESIDE MANOR that is the kind of charming customer service you receive. Oh and on top of the Yelp message, everyone in your family is going to get an angry phone call from Syed R too, if you give anything less than five stars. Because you know, one Yelp review from someone states away is *that* big of a deal it is worth bothering everyone in my extended family. Apparently I am the only one who thinks the entire situation is a little fucking stupid, very fucking ridiculous, and even more fucking childish. Catering hall that underwent renovations recently. It's come a long way apparently. Had an awards dinner to attend to. Run of the mill reception hall on the outside. Classy looking place on the inside. It looks as though it can hold a medium size wedding (100ish). Food was decent. Service was good. Smack dab in the middle of the room (picture a horseshoe) is a dance floor. Small bathroom. Coat check. All the amenities needed. Valet parking is also available but we self parked. read more

I've been going to the Lakeside Manor for well over 25 years and have used them for many functions from political fundraisers, family events and dinners for volunteer organizations. I have always received A1 Service at prices that are well within almost anyone's budget. The food is always fresh and stylish and always tastes great! The service staff is top notch and is always willing to meet almost any need which may arise. The management, Maitre D's, Head Waiters down to the buss staff are always on the ball. My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Lakeside Manor in Hazlet, NJ on Saturday October 15th, 2011. I rarely write reviews, only when I experience a service or product that goes way beyond expectations. The wedding planning process is a daunting one to say the least, especially for the future wives. I have to admit, I had a very small roll in it! Even so, I did see everything that went on and interacted with several vendors for our special day. The Lakeside Manor went above and beyond throughout the entire process, beginning to end. The maitre d', Mr. Raza did an impeccable job with our wedding. We left our reception with the thought 'that was perfect, and could not have been better'. Our guests alike were constantly praising everything about the night, the food, the environment, the staff, everything. I can't count the amount of times we heard 'This is the best wedding I've ever been to'. To hear that from some of our most critical, fault finding relatives was amazing! The Lakeside Manor is the real deal, world class professional service. I would recommend it to anyone planning a wedding or event. Mr. Raza did so much for us, he handled situations that were not his problem AT ALL, but handled them anyway because he truly cares about his clients. He also managed to keep my wife calm through all of the potential 'bridezilla' outbursts that just happen as part of the wedding planning process. Nice decor, small on the outside but beautiful inside. Food was not good. The salad was so garlicky and my penne vodka entree was cold with hard peas. I barely ate that night, that's for sure. But I have only gone once so it could just have been a bad experience. The cocktail hour was much better than the dinner as far as food. They didn't have seating arrangements so you basically stood around a table. The bar is slow and people will go from all sides to order and cut in line so be prepared for that. read more

My sister and brother in law recently had the most beautiful wedding at the Lakeside Manor. I had never heard of this website until I heard that my cousin posted a horrible review about this venue when he attended my sister's wedding. Before anyone uses his review and takes it seriously please read through is other 580+ reviews on all the places he hates. As matron of honor I can say that the Lakeside Manor went above and beyond to give my sister and brother in law the most beautiful, most memorable wedding. The woman assigned to help my sister out in the bridal room was very sweet. She couldnt do enough for us. She not only took care of my sister but all 8 bridesmaids, 2 flower giral and mothers of the bride and groom. The staff was very professional and very helpful. When one of the guests spilled a whole plate pasta on my dress it was 2 of the waitresses who stopped to help me, took me aside and helped clean off my dress. My daughter who was the flower girl suffers from celiac disease. I had brought gluten free food for my daughter who's a picky eater- the Lakeside Manor had no problem helping me. They assigned a waitress to help take my daughter's food into the kitchen to heat it up and make sure that their was no cross contamination. She brought out my daughter's food when it was cooked and kept checking on us throughout the night to make sure there was no more food she wanted heated up. It made my daughter feel special that someone cared. As for the maitre'd Said- My parents, the groom's parents and my sister and brother in law enjoyed working and planning the wedding with him They kept raving about him. He was a stand up guy and he made sure that everything went smoothly at the wedding. He also made sure that the wedding was memorable and special- as it should be for any girl who has dreamed about her wedding since she was a little girl. Everything about the Lakeside Manor was perfect! Beautiful place, great food, professional and friendly staff. I came for a wedding a few weekends ago and I will say I was very impressed with the setting, service and food.

Just wanted to let everyone know that you should plan your wedding at this location. I booked my wedding here for next year. I wanted to write a review on the process I've been through working with Syed. In every review you always hear the up's and downs of the event day. Rarely does anyone ever mention the process. So, here is my first review. My finace and I looked at several different venues. After everything was said and done we had no doubt in our minds that this was going to be the place for us. Syed was very informative on different vendors and even gave us a great florist to use since he knew I was having trouble with ours. He always took the time to spend with us showing us around since this place has gone through a complete renovation. He has always answered our calls and met with us around our schedule. He even made suggestions on things we should focus our attention on and helped us make final decisions on other aspects in our wedding. He was never pushy!!!!
