I love this market. They have so much plants and food. There were prepared food, fresh veggies and fruits as well as dry goods. They have a section with 50% off but look carefully to make sure they're still edible. The five stars are mainly for under the tent. I purchased cooked food. The food was really affordable and seasonal. Ordered a beef hot dog that was ok, didn't have that snap. The Apple cider donuts were the star of the show, it was crispy because it was so fresh and hot! The pretzel was simple and hot. The Apple cider was just the right amount and I love the crushed ice. The service is one of the best. The lady that serve the food and the young cashier are both so sweet and helpful. I can't wait to stop by again. read more

Here's an up to date review of Dearborn Market: The displays are pretty and festive for the fall/ winter season. The different departments are also set up ready to lure you in for purchasing. The colors are really attractive as you peruse thru the different departments. This reminds me of a smaller version of Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck. There is an enclosed greenhouse which displays many decorative plants and garden items both indoor and out. If you are looking for bargains, don't shop here. Go to ShopRite, or Foodtown I'm not knocking this place. They sell some above par great brands. I did notice that Dearborn sells products from Bowl & Basket ( ShopRite products) at higher prices. I stopped in recently to browse their Christmas trees and nursery selection and quickly turned around and headed back to my car. Their Christmas tree prices were on the more expensive side, with tags priced at $160 and up! I was not looking to spend more than $90 with tip on my fresh cut evergreen. I went to another local business in Hazlet and I got a fresh tree for a little over 9 feet tall at almost $100 less than what I would have been charged at Dearborn for a 6ft tall tree. I highly recommend this place because of the freshness from fruits to delicious food & bakery goods. They have Christmas items at reasonable prices . The wreath are nicely priced and beautifully made. They had face painting for the kids yesterday and photos with Santa on a sleigh. They sell everything you need for a very merry Christmas. I brought their delish apples and pears. I got my family a delicious lasagna and sides of Mac & cheese and a tasty salad . Turkey slices that will be used for my lunch time sandwiches. A side dish of pasta salad for the hubby on his detox diet . They had sushi freshly made too. The bakery had delicious cakes from fruity to crumb freshly made and ready to take home. Delicious Orchards lite.... with a garden department and nursery. I am of mixed emotions with regards to Dearborn Market. First impressions was not great when I was cut off pulling into a Handicapped spot by a "Valued" customer who did'nt even bother to display a tag and scoffed when I called him out on it. Selection is extensive with a fair amount of house brands although I saw quite a bit of Shoprite's Bowl and Basket branded items on the shelves priced at a substantial markup.???? The action is in the deli and meat market departments which features all the favorite cuts but at premium prices, Sandwich station manned by some most delightful and accomodating young gentlemen and prepared foods covering the spectrum of cuisines. Garden department is top notch and deep into expensive garden tchotchkes and over priced hanging baskets. Service is seemingly begrudging as if you're disturbing someone's "ME" time and at these prices totally unacceptable but appearently a ongoing issue judging from the reviews... Management ,where the hell are you? In conclusion Dearborn market strikes me as the go to market for the Anglo population of Holmdel with enough resources to shop there but not quite at the point where they can summer in the Hamptons. No thanks......I'll shop at Delicious Orchards where I'm always welcomed, the bakery is better and I'm not treated like a door to door magazine salesman. read more

First I want to be clear--the service is fantastic, it's the one thing that's still good here. But ever since those Shoprite people bought out dearborn, the quality of the products here have been going downhill. This place has long been known for a two things: its prepared foods such as its bakery and deli counter and the goods from its farm such as the garden center and fresh produce. Ever since the buyout, their fresh goods have been replaced more and more with stuff that you can find anywhere else, their recipes have disappeared from their shelves, and the garden center has gotten less diverse. And to make it worse, their supposedly "from scratch" baked goods have loads of preservatives and things like High Fructose Corn Syrup. Now, I'll eat stuff like that myself normally but if I'm paying a premium for baked goods, I want the real deal--and I was buying these for a family member who won't truck with any of that so it was a PROBLEM. To sum up--the staff are still fantastic but whoever is making the decisions, that goddamn family that's bought up all the region's supermarkets, they're the problem. read more

Was around this area and finally got a chance to visit this place! Its a coZy farm market with fresh food and meats! Their bakery section has great selection of items! I picked up pineapple upside down and it was reasonably priced for $7. They have coffee section too. I picked up lot of veggies and meats they tasted good. Would recommend getting a store membership card as its gives lot of deals. Definitely pay a visit to their nursery area its a whole different world. read more

I have been a customer at Dearborn, Holmdel, NJ, for over 15 years. My experience was generally good with the choice of produce and the courtesy of the checkout personnel. However, recently, I had a very bad experience. The checkout lady was extremely rude, and when I asked for some help with bagging, she replied "we're not supposed to help with bagging"; (in my 15 years of custom, I have never heard that, and the checkout personnel always helped in bagging). I shrugged that off and was leaving, when the checkout lady uttered a racial slur (I am of Indian ethnic origin). Obviously, I was a bit upset, and I phoned the store, and was instructed to write to the Store Manager. I wrote a certified letter addressed to this person, received the return receipt in the mail (so I know it was received). In it, I asked for a response. What a great place to shop! It has been on my list to come and checkout and Dearborn Market didn't disappoint me. The store was clean and had a great variety of fresh foods. Too bad the store wasn't a little bigger because the aisles are narrow. The homemade meals to go tap into everyone's taste buds from pizza, pasta, fresh fish and comfort foods. The deli, fish and meat departments were well packed with great selections. Dont forget to pick up some plants that greet you at the entrance. I wish i could give ZERO STARS!! I am a vegetarian and i have worked very hard to keep my diet meat free. I read the ingredients carefully on anything i consume. Today i made pasta with Dearborn Market vodka sauce... do you see any meat products on this label??? NO. But yet i find pieces of meat in the sauce which looks like pork of some sort. Went to the bakery approx 10am 11/18 spent $30 in cookies . My cookies sat on the scale completely exposed as I was being assisted there was a female employee older woman unboxing food on the counter NEXT TO MY COOKIES. A dirty shipment box (brown cardboard ) on top of the table and the top flaps of the box she had wide open sitting on top of my open exposed cookies. I nicely pointed out to her that the dirty box is touching my cookies and she did nothing more but look at me with no expression , zero compassion or care , not an apology, nor did she offer to replace the cookies that she contaminated with a dirty box . The box was prob on the floor at some point or in a truck . The same box I would pack shoes in and have ups pick up . I threw the cookies out and will never buy from that bakery again. The person assisting me pretended she had no idea what happened. No one offered to even change the cookies that were touched. The top of the box was well on top of my cookies moving them on the scale I stood one foot in front of them as the employee didn't even realize . I expressed my concern to a very nice Woman on my way out she as well didn't even offer to replace the cookies that were exposed by a filthy box. I guess they all think it's acceptable to contaminate food and work on top of counters with dirty supplies and boxes exposing fresh open food that. is being handled. In my case it was more than exposure the dirty box was over literally touching half of the cookies . I do not recommend that bakery they are unsanitary and employees don't care . read more

Dearborn has the best nursery with the highest quality plants. A worker on the garden center was so helpful, he was with me for over 45 minutes picking out shrubs. Terrble customer service in the garden dept at Dearborn today. Women behind the counter were rude and annoyed to be disturbed. I was told by a Mark that someeone would help us and after 20mins of waiting I inquired and was told that they were busy unloading a truck. There were plenty of salespeople available! Here's a heads up for shoppers at Dearborn Market. Three out of the last four times I shopped there, the price they charged me for some items was more than the prices shown on their shelves for that item. The last time I had to deal with three different employees to get it corrected. Incidentally none of the three got it right, so don't assume the correction is correct. read more

NEW OWNERS. To start off i have always felt Dearborn is a much smaller Delicious Orchards for those who are familiar with in Colts Neck. Dearborn has been part of growing up in Holmdel. The history and the Luccarelli family who built this farm market will always remain in our hearts. I can still remember the little road side farm stand that started it all. The new owners have made many changes. The deli and prepared food department has a large variety of refrigerated items such as pasta and meat dishes, pizza, sauces, soups and fresh meats. Easy grab and go. They still have the deli counter with all the food, fish department and butcher. There is more prepared sandwiches and salads for those looking for something fast if on your lunch break. There is a new lobster tank. There is also a new cheese department that is really great. So being Italian Sunday is pasta day.... Well thank you Dearborn for the oversized container of Sunday Gravy! Very impressive and my family has gone crazy for it. The container has 2 meatballs, sausage, ribs and braciole. I also buy a container of meatballs as two are not enough. It is that good that I feel as long as they carry it why make it myself. read more

I have always been a fan of this place. I came here earlier when my wife and I were in the area visiting friends. The Mrs. can have the grocery section, I will take everything else which includes the farmers market, nursery and gardening departments (though I purchased a couple of items from the grocery section today). Today they had Hay rides for the kids, pumpkin picking, make your own scarecrow, DJ and were making fresh cider donuts. Our friend tells us that they have the best chicken cutlets around. Her husband can actually tell when she doesn't buy them there. If I lived in the area, I can see myself spending quite a few Saturdays/Sundays just walking around and spending quite a bit of money here. We do not go to Delicious Orchards as much any more since Dearborn Farms is much closer (about 2 miles from the house). Not as a big a selection of fruits and vegetables as Delicious Orchards but it has what you need. Dearborn Farms recently completed a much needed expansion and it is not nearly as crowded as it used to be. They also added a large garden center green house that I have never been in but I can see if from the deli area. The bakery area of Dearborn Farms has fresh breads, rolls and pastries from North Jersey and Brooklyn based bakeries. The deli carries Boars Head meats and cheeses. There is also a fresh meat area as well. Not the same experience as going to Delicious Orchards but it is close, convenient and fresh. Being different does not make it bad. read more

This review only relates to a specific situation that I encountered today in the deli. We purchased several things there and most were very tasty. Our experience with their steak quesadillas. We bought two quarters, went home and popped them In the oven to get the cheese gooey, went on the deck and prepared for a tasty treat. WRONG! The steak (so they say) was as brown as shoe leather (old) and largely gristle. See photo if you aren't easily grossed out. Here comes the funny part. I call them. Get connected to the deli. Ask to speak to a deli manager. After a few seconds pass a chipper sounding woman comes on. I explain my problem. Ask to get a refund, and suggest they remove what's left of the abomination from the deli case. She says she will tell the associates to be more careful when they fill the cases. This sounded weird enough that I asked her what her management position was. "I'm the HR manager" says she. I suggest She speak to the manager of people who actually prepared the food. Which she thought was a great idea. Having gathered enough info to know I don't want to be eating their food again I quietly hung up. read more

I leave smiling and in a complete peaceful state whenever I stop by from my long commute home. True, it's expensive to shop at Dearborn but for me the quality of the plants, food and customer service is more than worth it. I will not shop in any other home garden.
