This market has a huge arrangement of all kinds of foods and pastries, with ready-to-consume options, as well as items to take home. First off, their dessert case is huge! I picked up a few items for myself and family, and everyone loved their dessert. The cream puff I had was ginormous. Walking through the market, they have a ton of fresh produce and more. I really liked their Cajun crab dip. I also love how they offer free samples of the apple cider. When it was time to eat, we stopped in the little coffee shop area. I went with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not too sweet. The smoothie was also solid. The ham, apple & Brie panini was delicious! The apple butter complements this sandwich really well and I would definitely order it again. Overall, I loved my experience at Delicious Orchards. I was visiting a flea market in the vicinity and saw that Delicious Orchards was nearby- so thought it would be fun to stop. Grabbed some organic produce which was all excellent- didn't love that the conventional section was much much bigger and there were less organic options. The bakery though is what brings it up to 5 stars- first of all, wish I had my kids with me because they would have enjoyed the experience. There's a burger window outside, a little cafe inside, a truck 'play structure' outside for little ones with a little slide.. beautiful plants and trees for sale .. the most delicious smelling jasmine plant I wish I took home.. a plethora of truffle cheeses (and other interesting cheeses)... and best of all the bakery. The raspberry cream puff was off the charts amazing. So good that I took a picture of it after slicing to post here. There are things I'd skip (really expensive organic eggs for instance.. rather go to Whole Foods for those and pay less) but otherwise - worth a visit if you're in the vicinity ! read more

I loved this place and they had everything you could want. We stopped by on our way south and it was even better than I remembered. We bought so many treats including apple cider donuts and pies and took coconut custard and apple home. The apples were fresh crisp and delicious and we picked up pistachios chestnuts and large oranges plus some good produce like juicing carrots. The staff was friendly and there were plenty of registers open for the busy thanksgiving crowd. We tipped the cashier and bagger and parking was easy. There was a line to get in but it moved quickly. It's a great, classic NJ fall experience with fresh apple cider (sooooooo delicious out of the spigot) & donuts. I don't think there was a petting zoo though, if that is part of your childhood memories (I used to go to Tice's & Van Riper's). Our intent was to get a pumpkin to carve (they are a bit pricey!) and some cider. We were blown away, though, by the market, which has everything, including a lot of "gifty" items (chocolate lollipops, coffee, fudge, coffee, etc.) and farm stand produce. We visited on a Saturday around 1pm, and it was quite crowded inside the store and outside where there is space available to grab a bite. We tried their cinnamon sugar cider donuts (prepackaged) and an apple cider slush with ice cream. The donuts tasted fresh and delicious. This review is based solely on a basket we received from DO. My wife had a substantial surgery, coworkers of my daughter sent a lovely looking basket with some chocolates, hot chocolate mix, A dozen donuts (1/2 powdered sugar, 1/2 apple cider) and some other stuff which slips my mind at this moment. The coffee and tea area also was available for sampling. It was nice to see so many bees on property and can explain the beautiful flowers and plants available for purchase before enter store. So disappointed. Have been going here for 50 years and bakery quality going down. Bought the chocolate chip cookies and instead of the crisp cookies I've known, these were so stale and had no taste. The blueberry muffins were also stale. The pecan Danish were wonderful as were the dinner rolls. The fruit was great but the Old Monmouth candy chocolate covered raisins were at least a year old, tasted rancid. I guess Thursday visitors don't receive quality food. read more

A very nice farmers market located in Colts Neck. One thing for sure is I'm not the only one that thinks this way because it was packed. If you go during the fall expect lines. The parking lot was big though and that alleviated some of the problems with crowds which was good. Had no problem finding a spot near the market. As far as the market goes they have all the usual. Pies, fruit, vegetables, snacks, honey and syrup, baked goods etc. We purchased the Apple cider and a coconut custard pie which were both good. I didn't get to shop and see as much as I wanted due to the large crowd. Would be better to come back during a weekday. On the way out we got a Apple cider float. I've been going to DO most of my life. The deserts are usually very good. Previously we bought a brownie cake and were extremely disappointed with it because of how dry it was. So we decided to order a cake, It was made to order and on time but again the cake was very dry. Kinda sucked the moisture out of your mouth. Not great. So for store made cake items, I'm gonna pass but pies and deserts are very good. Cannolis are awesome. We've never been disappointed with the produce. read more

This is my first time in the actual store, but I have had their pies before. I like the curb appeal from the parking lot, there were outdoor plants and decorative holiday decor you could purchase. There were a variety of mums, pumpkins and other fall flowers. I entered the store and the glass baker's case featuring muffins and mini pie tarts were on my left, cider donuts in the middle and cookies on the right wall. There was a small stand of customer service and then the other departments were deeper into the store. I honestly thought I had already reviewed Delicious Orchards, but apparently not. This place is the cutest grocery store ever. It's not your typical grocery store so you won't find all of your favorite brand name items; however, you will not leave empty handed. I highly recommend their apple cider donuts. They have plain, powdered sugar, and cinnamon powdered sugar. Out of the three, my favorite is the cinnamon powdered sugar, but since I don't live in the area and am not here often, I always pick up a pack of each - don't judge. They have so many other baked goods as well including pies, cookies, and more. I have tried some of their cookies but I forget which ones. They have fresh apple cider in the produce area for sampling, although I think it was put on hold during the pandemic so not sure if it's back yet. They have fresh peanut butter including a butterscotch peanut butter which is very good. If I did live in the area, I'd shop here often as everything including their produce and other items looks super fresh. They also have a window out front where you can order a few meal items. I had a breakfast item once but I forget what it was - I just remember liking it. And on a number of occasions I have gotten their cider to go -it's delicious! Ot feels like there are a bunch or grandmas in the back baking all the yummy goodies. Their produce is top quality and always great. The meats/deli are premium. The employees are great and super helpful. The store is very inviting and there's a homey feel when you walk in. They also have awesome gift baskets if needed. I shop at Delicious Orchards on a regular basis, but I'm very disappointed with their chicken cutlets, from the Deli/Meat section of the store. I've purchased their cutlets for many years, but the quality is definitely not the same. The chicken they used to sell (either the 6 oz. or 3 oz) were consistent in size, flavorful and moist when cooked. But they must be using a different vendor, because the chicken cutlets they currently sell are inconsistent in thickness, flavorless, chewy/nervy, just not the same. They don't even look like the cutlets they sold in the past. Shoppers expect the same quality poultry, meats, ingredients, so please Delicious Orchards, don't substitute with an inferior product. read more

We purchased a bag of powdered cider donuts, a bag of plain cider donuts and 4 gallons of Apple Cider from Delicious Orchards. WHO THE HELL IS SAYING These donuts are good and it's their signature item?!? ..because these were TERRIBLE!! They were DRY & Tasted like SH*T! It had a weird fake after taste, I can't put my finger on it. We sampled their apple cider which wasn't bad so we've decided to get 4 gallons...we put them in our fridge and 3 days later (still unopened) we heard a big BANG in our fridge as I was about to open it, thank God I didn't because THEY EXPLODED, cider everywhere, 2 were still bloated and had a tiny hole where the cider was seeping! I looked online to see if that was normal and it said "If the pasteurization process was not 100% effective or if yeast was accidentally introduced during bottling, the yeast can re-ferment. A faulty batch or one that is not pasteurized correctly can still ferment and explode in the cooler temperatures of a refrigerator. Overly pressurized bottles as "bottle bombs". These were in their fridge as well AND it also says "Shake Well"...they've been in our fridge only for 3 days unopened and untouched. So I don't understand why they exploded?? Their items are pretty expensive, so it pissed us off, that everything we bought ended up being a WASTE of money because we had to throw them all out because I've read it's not ok to drink them after they've exploded because as it says online "No, you should not drink apple cider after it has exploded, even if it was unopened because the explosion indicates the contents have spoiled." So we won't be returning here, it literally left a bad taste in our mouth. read more

We began going to DO around 50 years ago when they were relatively new. All of their produce and baked items were the best. We moved from the area 12 years ago, and recently returned to south Jersey. My daughter was in the Colts Neck area yesterday and stopped with friends. While there she called and asked me what I'd like. I told her the pumpkin pie, plain cider and powered sugar doughnuts which had always been our family's favorites. I tried some of the pie and one plain doughnut today... SO disappointed!! The doughnut tasted like the fat either used in it on to fry it while and pumpkin pie was way sweeter than it used to be as well as wet. That's not even mentioning the highly inflated prices for the baked goods. Sorry DO, times have definitely changed... QC is not being adhered to these days and your prices are through the roof!!
