Booked on the website as it says to, paid and everything. We get there today after receiving a reminder email and text from the website yesterday and nobody was there. Waiting in the cold for twenty minutes after calling twice during that time trying to find out what was going on and left voicemails. Mira the owner then finally calls me back as I was going home and couldn't bother to apologize and tells me all her classes for January were cancelled and then proceeds to tell me her website is "broken" and how I should've known to call her even though her website says nothing about it. Then she proceeds to basically berate me for not calling her to ask about details of the class even though her website explains what the class is. She then says that how else would I know that I need to get all the supplies. What class doesn't give you the supplies to take the class especially when there is a decent fee for the class?? And this class is also listed on Groupon! It says nothing about calling ahead of booking! Now when I'm asking this Mira for my refund she's telling me I wasn't charged when I told her exactly how its listed on my card from when I was charged. Don't give business to this scammer!

We were served two meals, breakfast and lunch, along with a motivational speech to start us off and the communcations / media breakout room I went to afterward that just gave helpful life times, pretty general for any medium you want to be a part of. Starting off with the breakfast I enjoyed my everything bagel, chocolate donut, and orange juice. Let me just not go with that combo of the last two again. Next, for brunch I had sausage, eggs, a muffin, bacon, and potatoes. A lot of the food itself doesn't really look appetizing, but then again, it still did taste pretty good (maybe I was just really hungry) and it was all free! And so was everything included that day. Hope to be back in the room where it happens next year. As this is a review of the college, the campus is certainly pretty nice for a community college. It definitely earns its title for best in the state. And staff hold lots of wisdom and are certainly qualified for their roles. In the communications field, the cheap access to all the equipment Brookdale has is a good reason to be in school.

The IT department (Help Desk) has peculiarly infrequent hours which means it is easy to get STUCK…read more And that can happen through no fault of one's own! The classes are all "B" able with minimal effort [some very specific program courses like very specific nursing classes etc. aside] and B+/A- able and A able with a bit of effort. You don't have to be a genius to get a 4.0 at Brookdale Community College - you just have to put in a bit of time to do the reading and memorize the stuff the professors told you to memorize. It's pretty basic. But the offerings are very limited. Some sections fill up fast and have wait lists, while the sister face to face classes stack up unfilled. The classes felt like a whole lot of busy work - not a whole lot of learning work - just busy work. The teachers basically want to see that you tried and didn't plagiarize! But that doesn't make you a true expert in the field that you checked the box for when you picked ASSOCIATES in XXXXXXXX

I was so incredibly lucky to find the Art Academy of Somerset County - the instruction is simply fabulous! Halley Murphy is a great instructor, and her teaching method allows her students to see their painting skills progress every week. The class atmosphere is calm and focused, and the quality of the artwork produced by her students is astounding. Both my wife and daughter have enrolled, and we all strongly endorse the Art Academy!

Meghan (the owner) is an artist who has been trained by the artist that owns The Art Academy in Hillsborough Township. Meghan's academy is actually a little over a year old and I couldn't find her yet on yelp, so I am putting my review here and hope that's ok. I am an oil painter, and came to The Art Academy in Chester through a referral to Chester school. I have a strong set of skills in oil painting, and have begun to sell my work. I came to Meghan because I wanted to strengthen my foundational skills in the realistic painting style. Meghan is absolutely the strongest and best teacher I have ever had. She has classes for children, adolescents and adults, at all levels. She is so talented in teaching the fundamentals of painting and it has most definitely strengthened my skills, just as I had wanted. She is a master at working with children and adolescents meeting the individual student at their current level, providing a strong education and support in a manner where I've seen children and adolescents blossom into really excellent oil painters. She focuses on teaching values, and color, which are two very important keystones in being able to paint well. She is an absolute gem. As an adult painter, I find her lessons to be critically important and I have seen a great change for the better in my work. If you are looking for an art school that is both wonderfully supportive and highly educational, this is THE place.
