My daughter had expressed an interest in acting for some time, but kept changing her mind every time we got to the point of going to check it out. Then early this year, the urge was so strong that she agreed to let me make an appointment for her to go and see what was what. We got to the place early on a Saturday and the butterflies were starting to get the better of her, but we were able to successfully overcome them with a gentle nudge, and a guaranty that if she was not thrilled that I would be back to pick her up in an instant. Well let me tell you. That introductory class ignited a flame in her, and a confidence in herself that I had not seen before. I have never seen her strive and work as hard at anything like this ever before. Ralph, the Artistic Director; Megan, and Dan and the rest of the people at the school are the nicest, warmest and most wonderful people I have ever met. They make the kids feel safe and accepted and nurture them as if they were their own. They truly make the kids and us parents feel like family. If your child has any interest at all in the magical world of entertainment, or if you think they could use a dose of confidence building, then check out the Actors Playground and see for yourself how amazing this little place is.

If you are considering this school, please pay attention to all of the reviews. FYI, The recent 5…read morestar review is from the owner. My child started at M&E and had a wonderful experience there, until the director left, all the teachers followed her out the door. Things went down hill fast and the change was noticeable. Shortly into the new ownership, I came in to bring my child something and as I walked down the hall I heard someone screaming. An adult, not a child, yelling like a maniac. As I passed the class where the screaming came from, I saw a teacher in a child face. The owner was behind me and saw what I observed and said into the class 'You better listen!' Red flag. About a week later, we got a text that some children had gotten sick in the school. Within the next hour, I received 4 more messages that more than 10 children were throwing up and that we had to pick up our children. When I arrived, the owner was cleaning up the school with windex, bags of garbage were all over the school and it was a mess. I'm truly surprised that the board of health wasn't alerted Update: In response to the new owners reply, I'm not trying to hurt anyone. Just protect the children. I'm glad some of the old teachers are back. Our experience was negative and I do believe you were the one I dealt with when we withdrew our child.

As a parent, this is not easy to write -- but I believe other families deserve to know what really…read morehappens behind the smiles. While everything looks perfect when parents are around, once you leave, the atmosphere completely changes. Teachers frequently raise their voices at the children, even waking toddlers up from naps by yelling, instead of using care or patience. The environment feels tense and fearful rather than loving and supportive, which is the opposite of what any child should experience in daycare. They also claim the cameras are "live view only" and do not record, which leaves parents without any accountability or evidence if something goes wrong. Diapers are often changed only twice a day, and food or bottles are not always properly labeled -- small things that add up to big concerns for hygiene and care. This review isn't out of anger -- it's out of disappointment. Our children deserve gentle voices, patience, and genuine care. I hope this center takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to protect the wellbeing of every child.
