There are…read morea few dotted around HK, but by far my favourite is the one in Wan Chai, mainly due to the slightly surly manager, who, whilst always very polite and courteous, always makes me think I am being disciplined by my Dad.
The menu is burgers, with a few different varieties of topping, and sides like; poutine, onion rings, salad. The best, though, has to be; the fish burger, which is like proper British battered fish in a bun. Far too many folks make their fish burgers like MacD's, so this chunky battered number is a great change. And also the veggie burger, which is a great rice and bean burger, a decent size and full of the goodness. We don't want a portobello mushroom posing as a burger, we want a burger (just with no meat!). Other lovely things on the menu include their shakes, which I find a good blend of sweet and creamy, without being too sickly.
It is essentially a fast food joint, so you pay and get your food in paper. There is usually a short wait as they make to order, but only a couple of minutes. The restaurants are plastic tables and chairs, and you have to bus your own rubbish, so it does feel like any other fast food joint. The only difference is the food is just that much better and fresher.
Definitely give the fish burger a go, it's really good.
