Mak Siu Kee is one of the iconic Wonton Noodle houses in Hong Kong, a few of these restaurants all stems from the same "Mak" family, but has since spread in their own paths.
This particular branch, as they have a few shops around town, is very close to my home in HK, the shop is super small, can only seat up to 20 people or so. This is actually the proper size for a noodle shop as the kitchen will be able to make all the noodles in a very short time and not have to manage a large dining room, as this is crucial to keep each bowl of noodles al dente!!
So far with all my visits here, their quality has always been top notch!, Both Noodles & Congees are done superbly! Competition in Hong Kong for wonton noodles are very fierce as there is another very famous Wonton Restaurant across the street, both are doing well, it shows that how this type of restaurants still have a place in today's culinary scene in HK!
