Parking: self service parking at the side of the road outside the village. You have to validate the pass from the restaurant (the attendant was missing when we left). Public transportation: #16 Light commuter from Hau Tak shopping center. Get off at the last stop. This is a Dai pai dong but with a roof. A no frills but good food restaurant. No AC but since it is located right on a pier, there is a bit of a breeze. Plus an abundant amount of ceiling fans to keep cool in the summer months. There are many tanks of seafood for selection right at the entrance of the restaurant. Choose what you want and tell them how you want it prepared. Razor clams - sautéed with black beans and peppers. it was so fresh, no fishy taste and extremely sweet and not sandy. Geoduck - thinly sliced sashimi on a giant bowl of ice. The bowl looked like it weighted 10lbs! Hot pot on the side to blanch the breast meat(the part that is hidden in the shell) and for others who do not eat raw food. It was my first time eating geoduck. My favorite dish of the night! The sashimi is the sliced neck meat (the part that protrudes out). It had a crunchy yet smooth texture with a hint of sweetness. The breast meat when cooked is soft and spongy. Scallop - seamed with vermicelli, scallions and garlic. So good! Mantis shrimp - fried. You gotta get your hands dirty and peel off the shell. I had to get over the fact that it looked so creepy with its' many shrimp like legs and the weird looking head. Under all that shell is a lobster ish texture meat. Taste was a cross between shrimp and lobster. Crab - sautéed with scallions and ginger. It was so meaty and had a lot of orange caviar. I love crab! Fish - steamed and with a soy sauce poured over and topped with scallions. Simple. Fish was about 3-4lbs and meaty. Like everything else, not fishy tasting because it was freshly picked from the tank. Chicken - someone from another table followed the waiter to my table just to check out the chicken. Extremely smooth meat. Cuttlefish- fried, was good but arrived at the end of the meal. Good but not as amazing as everything else. In conclusion, Eat where the locals eat!

Char Siu and Roast Duck: The barbecued pork is incredible. It's a little smoky and sweet with a nice pink smoke ring. The sticky edges are super crispy from the caramelization and a slight char. You can hear a tiny crunch with each bite. As for the meat, it is more tender than any BBQ or a succulent cut of the finest pastrami. Roast duck is the ultimate pairing for char siu because of its crisp skin and depth of flavors from the five spice, soy, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger.

It looked more like a take out kind of place but we saw tables in the back and started to enter the shop, but the floor was so greasy, we were seriously thinking about making a 180° and skip this place. I don't know if it was the look on our faces or that we were a bit better dressed then the uncles in their white tanks with legs propped up on stools or what, but the kind lady proprietor suggested we eat at their "nicer atmosphere" dining room a few doors down. The dining room greeted us with nice A/C and floors our shoes had better grip on. The food is ordered here and they will prepare the soup, noodles, drinks, etc. but all the siu mei still comes over from the other shop. The roasted meats we're tender and tasty, no lie. I'd say even skip all those starchy fillers and go straight for the roasted proteins. The portions here are very generous and we felt a little guilty leaving some pieces uneaten. Hong Kong definitely has no shortage of siu me shops and I'm glad the tasties they offer remain classic and unchanged. Looking forward to finding new gems.

Big deal. If your service sucks, then I'll take my business elsewhere. First, no staff ever smiled. It's like they hate what they do and they hate everyone who eats there. My sister made a reservation but I was the first to get there. So I told one of the staff about the name of the reservation. She said she didn't see her name and asked for her number that she put down and so I told her. She kept denying that there's a reservation made and finally she found it and didn't even apologize or anything and we were promptly seated. Since I and a few of us were early and while we're waiting for the rest of the party to arrive, different staff repeatedly rushed us to place an order. Yes, I appreciate the efficiency, but can't you also respect your customers' pace? The person who made the reservation hasn't even arrived yet! I must say, however, that they are very diligent about filling our drinks and clearing our plates. Then there comes the ridiculously priced plate of mantis shrimp. We ordered the pepper and salt mantis shrimp and the server suggested 4 pieces so we without much thought said okay. Man they were the best, biggest, juiciest mantis shrimp I've ever eaten! But guess what, each costs HKD 300 so just that plate alone costs $1200 (USD 150)!!! Holy crap. Way to reel us in on the expensive dish! What a surprise when we saw the bill! Deceptive bunch of people. Their crab was delicious but the fish soup was just alright. And their cold platter was a hit or miss. Food was good but not worth the price and not worth being treated like this. Also the place was so tiny and the bathroom definitely violated the emergency exit regulations lol. Will not come back. Better to go to Lee Yue Mun or Sai Kung!

I've personally never tried the congee, but the spicy crab is mighty delicious (and seriously spicy, so if you can't take the heat, ask for the least spicy option). Bonus: the crab is fried with garlic, which you can box up and take home. My favorite dish? The rice noodles with roast duck. The soup is rich and flavorful, and the thinly-cut noodles offer a good bite. You can even request different cuts of duck with your noodles, or just get plain noodles if you wish. I always somehow end up here for a late dinner when returning from vacation. Service is hit or miss, with servers often rushing around and trying to get you out as quickly as possible. Well thank goodness we found this place because it was a god send. Fairly close to the exits of the East Tsim Sha Tsui station, we at first didn't know where it was but good thing TripAdvisor had some good photos to find it. We walked in and there were a good amount of folks inside enjoying their food and the bbq and roasted meats were a good sign. They did have a menu, but their English is definitely limited. We tried to get a combination BBQ plate, but certain items were not available for the combo. Eventually we did end up getting a two item BBQ plate (roasted duck and bbq pork) and wonton noodle. We got so much food for the price. It was ridiculous! The meats were succulent and rich and hit the spot. The wontons were super flavorful and you can see the shrimp in it. The egg noodles were perfectly cooked and had a nice bite to them. There was a side soup which was basically a clean broth. Would I come back again? Heck yes! In a heart beat for the prices they give. Now I just need to figure out to say "more tea" and "do you have napkins" cause in the whole time we were there we got one cup of tea and had no sight of napkins at all. Good thing I had a reserve of napkins in my bag. It also seemed to be okay to bring in food from the outside as a table next to us was eating some of the nearby street food.

I would say that this restaurant serves the Asian equivalent of American diner comfort food. In…read moreHong Kong, we like to eat dim sum, roast meats with rice, or stir fried noodles. These are our comfort foods. My family and I ordered their roast pork, roast goose, and shoyu chicken with white rice. These came with a side of milk tea. They also served dim sum when we came here. So, we ordered pork siu mai, beef meatballs, and braised chicken feet. Some people would cringe with the chicken feet. But, I grew up eating this. So,don't knock it until you've tried it. All of the meats were fragrant and delicious. I'm partial to the roast pork, since it comes with crispy pork skin. The white rice had good texture, and they weren't stingy with the amount they gave us. But, like the mustard greens that came along with this meal, I wish both of these were actually temperature hot when they served it to us. At best, they were lukewarm and they got cold easily, which I didn't like. The dim sum was pretty good. Not as good as Dimdimsum. But, if we wanted both rice dishes and dim sum, we can come here to get our fix. Just like a diner, this joint is loud and very hustle and bustle. The bell rings and the staff brings you your food pretty quickly. We can be in and out of this place pretty easily. The staff can be quite gruff as well. But, that's normal with any waitstaff here in Hong Kong. Just come and enjoy some Hong Kong style comfort food while you're here.

If I didn't feel like going out after a long day of being touristy/family, I would visit here. I generally went for the beef brisket wonton noodle soup. The broth was a little heavy on the 5-spice and I would've been fine with a cleaner broth. However, the noodles, brisket, and wontons were on-point. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the wontons were delicate and filled with shrimp. The noodles were toothsome and weren't too soft. The set meals are a pretty good value as you can choose from a variety of entrees (noodles, rice porridge, etc.), a side dish/dessert (like vegetables, fried wontons, dessert soup), and a drink (hot soy, hot teas, etc.). I didn't go for the fried wontons but the fried fish balls were quite good. They were very hot but soft with a slightly crispy exterior. There wasn't a fishy taste to it, so it seemed more fresh. The choy sum was okay, though the broth it sat in was a seafood-based broth which wasn't really my style. Service was decent though like most places in HK, you have to flag down someone and don't expect someone to come to you. This spot was good (and clean) enough for me to not have to visit my former wonton spot, Mak Man Kee.
