Not only the hotel is spectacular, the view is amazing, it smells wonderful and its connected to several malls right outside of the hotel. 24 hours gym room, buffet, infinity outdoor pool, room service, everything was more than I can ever asked for. Did I mention the view on the 70th floor every night was breathtaking! We had some discrepancies with our hotel booking with Trips.com and it took several days and plenty of phone calls with the US trips.com and the assistant manager Ivan was not only professional, patient and understanding, he was what exceptional service is all about. I would return over and over again just because of the service I received by Ivan! This is one of the tallest hotels in HK. Our room is spacious with nice amenities. It has a clawfoot tub if you want to enjoy a bath as well as a circular shower with overhead rain shower and handheld. There are no hooks in the bathroom, no drawers to store your clothes. There is adequate USB ports. You need to wrap the shower curtain around 360 for privacy. We had a spectacular view of HK. Nice amenities such as sauna and steam room, pool. Nice option if you're ok not staying in the heart of the city.

Nor space: tight rooms but totally ergonomic and logic, not surprisingly given how they have to maximize space. Working desk right under the TV, and the stool to sit on tucks right underneath the counter. My room barely had any walking around space, in fact, none of it, as even the luggage takes up the 'hallway space' to the washroom. Of course, only 1 person can be in here at the same time lol. It's located in Tsuen Wan area, which though it appears to be away from the main action, it's a busy burb area, and at the end (or beginning depending how one looks at it) of the Tsuen wan MTR line. Which btw, isn't a 5-min walk, unless you're sprinting! I say it's a good 10minutes as long as you're not stopping by the street to window shop. From the front lobby, it's a good 100 feet til you get to the stair case that goes up 3 flights of stairs before you get to the walkway going across the main road, through the mini-mall, which is already quite packed and busy, til you get to the station. Which btw is quite handy as usual, with a 7 Eleven and the cream puff, as well as another bakery. And it's safe: you can return near midnite, no riff raff walking across the street. It's your typical Kowloon area with working class retail and eating areas, no major designer label shopping. Free wifi. and loved how often they have the shuttle bus to/back fr airport, with well-placed signs inside lobby. Again, it's simple but friendly, professional staff. Just one side of seating on the left when you walk in. Overall, worth coming back again if I could get this for $100/night again lol.

It's also very smelly, Like when you pass by the hallways it smells like Asian herbs which I don't find that appealing! The breakfast of a voucher from McDonald's which is nah. They don't have their own kitchen considering it's a 4 star hotel. It's quite walkable to the train station which is good too. It's just a basic hotel that's clean and I guess I could recommend this place if you're not that picky with the smell of the hallways. It's also a hustle and bustle place bec it's connected to the mall.

Toilet and other bathroom functions were fine. Remember I am quite ulitarian. Location was quite convenient for its location . Location is in The New Territory of Hong Kong so it is far away from Northern HK island and Kowloon so prices for a very good hotel was fair. Service was excellent especially the concierge. Excellence all around. Started with a room tour where we learned that most of the amenities could be controlled or summoned via tablets. Sleeping space is wide open, especially by HK standards. Large luxurious bathrooms with dual vanities and plenty of counter space. There are rail themed bars on the mezzanine level. One included the aforementioned piano singer and an extremely helpful bartender that was happy to discuss mezcal once I asked for a mezcal Paloma. The pool and the gym both have views across the harbor to HK island. Glorious. The locker rooms include steam or sauna, a hot whirlpool and a cold plunge. It costs a pretty penny but you get what you pay for here.

The lobby and checkin happened on the 6th floor. My room was also a waterfront room and the views were spectacular (pictures don't do justice). The breakfast was extensive and of high quality. They also have a very nice bar on the lobby area. A minor annoyance was that the area that housed the toilet made a dull whooshing sound, which came from either the ceiling or the walls, and was continuous and quite annoying if the door was left open, but it wasn't an issue if the door was shut closed. The hotel was also ideally located for morning walks near the water. It's also connected to a very upscale mall if that's of interest to you.

There are Silka Hotels all over Hong Kong, so this is not the only one. Their reputation is not bad, you can at least look forward to a good stay. It is a nicely renovated hotel, everything IS on the petite side tho lol. The singles bed is relatively small. It is the perfect size for a 5" tall girl like myself but I am not sure about those who are much taller than me. The washroom is kept clean daily by housekeeping. The housekeeping staff are friendly and courteous. I also noticed that the hotel collaborated with China bus tour companies for accommodations, so the place is usually flooded with tourists bright and early in the morning and late at night. I would recommend paying a little extra to get a room with a view of the harbor which I think makes this Ibis an especially nice deal. The room is comfortable, not very large but that's common in big cities unless you want to pay a lot more. The staff was friendly and efficient, breakfast offered good coffee and a nice selection of food. The hotel is about 8 minutes walk to the central MTR station, which we also found convenient. Their free airport express minibus from Hk station to the hotel is also nice. We used it both ways, when we arrived and left, which was a big help. Another nice touch, as the water in Hong Kong is not drinkable, they have a free fountain in the lobby to refill your empty bottles. There is a Starbucks on the ground level (the lobby is on the 4th), which we did not use but seems quite popular. I definitely recommend this hotel and would go back.
