So if you really like dessert you might end up being disappointed. I came here for the fish maw and other stuff, so I was happy! Besides fish maw, I highly recommend trying their shrimp. It's so plump, succulent and crunchy! I believe they said it's from Vietnam. Their sashimi selection was very decent too. Most of the time I'd skip the sashimi, but they've got clams and amaebi, yum yum! Also, service was excellent. Attentive even though they're slammed. The waitress never stopped clearing out empty plates throughout our meal.

The staff were responsive to emails that were sent prior to my visitz in regards to their menu and our allergies/dietary restrictions. The restaurant does not require any deposit unlike most other hotel restaurants. Verandah is located on the second floor of the hotel and all the space is pretigious leading to the restaurant. Checking in at the front desk was a breeze and we were immediately informed that the head chef will be coming out himself to speak to us. We were given a very informative and individual tour of the buffet area and went through all the items offered so that we could be cautious due to potential allergies. Chef was extremely professional and welcoming, fluent in both Cantonese and English. After our meeting with the chef we were lead to our table. The tables are spaced very comfortable apart from others, which is absolutely amazing. The service was provided by a main server and two other assistants. We definitely felt like royalty while dining here. The price to dine at Verandah may be one of the most expensive if not the most expensive hotel dinner buffet in Hong Kong. My dining companion and I felt that the price is very well worth the entire dining experience by the end of the night. Not only can you take your time graciously choosing items you want to devour, and enjoying it at your own pace at the dinner table, but also get top notch attentive service that doesn't feel over the top. The servers have absolutely mastered the art of looking after their guests in a manner that does not feel intrusive and they are able to pick up details quickly. The dinner napkin is looked after and folded neatly every single time you leave your seat. The chair is always pushed in for you when you take your seat. The drinks are always refilled. The table is always cleaned after each plate you enjoy. The food is always replenished when at item is taken by a guest. The plate is carried to your table if you need help. The servers are always on top of the game whenever you need them. The dinner buffet includes one coffee or tea in its price but unlimited rounds to their buffet area which includes everything you can imagine. Think sushi, sashimi, a raw bar, chilled seafood (lobster conch, abalone, etc), salads, soups, and world cuisine (we had both hot and cold items from Japan China, India, Italy, France and more). All of the food we had were delicious. The desserts included items like Crepe Suzette, ice cream, mousse cakes, cheesecakes, and even handcrafted chocolate (yes, the Peninsula is known for their house chocolate). What was also a nice touch to our dinner was having a view to a light show facing the harborfront in Tsim Sha Tsui. Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or just wanting to enjoy one of the best dining experiences in Hong Kong's prestigious hotel, Verandah is absolutely stunning. Tip: dress for the occasion because it is special in all forms.

You'll want to focus on the seafood here, although it should be noted that there are other menu items for people who don't enjoy seafood. A must-order item is the seafood boil, which (as you've probably guessed) is fresh seafood boiled with a blend of Cajun-style spices and then tossed with your choice of sauce. Each order requires a minimum of three kinds of seafood. We recommend the Dungeness crab, baby octopus and live crawfish with the "Mr. Crab Cajun Sauce" in medium spicy (we tried the mild before, but it didn't have enough of a kick to it). Service can be hit-or-miss depending on how busy the place is, and the air-conditioning can sometimes be on the cold side.

The pandemic has proven to be a killer for many HK spots, but Le Menu has fallen harder in food quality and service, while seemingly becoming more expensive (#2) in the process. They liken themselves to be an "elegant all-day restaurant versatile for different cuisines" but the experience really depends on when one visits. The weekend afternoon tea time is a relaxing time with some semi-pretty bite sized snacks and the "semi" lunch sets are a solid list of a la carte items in a bundle. The breakfast buffet is fine, but it's only a step above many of the complimentary breakfast spreads at other hotels. Their "opulent" dinner buffet features their biggest spread with the addition of fish maw, lobster, and braised abalone bringing the retail cost for an adult at $838HKD at a full session of 4 hours. Similarly to many HK restaurants, international cuisine is their draw but far from a perfected specialty. They get some kudos for their meat carvings, such as the roasted prime rib and turkey, but the sashimi, roast goose, and seafood options were mediocre. Many of their items, including desserts are essentially all looks, but little substance. The seating looks spacious in photos, but big groups will find it cramped if there are too many people around. Service was lukewarm at best and the bathrooms are extremely tight. (#3) For the price and overall quality, there are definitely better options in Hong Kong. Some tips to maximize the experience: :: Check their website for major discounts, which range from $80-100HKD off the regular price. :: Shoot for the 2 hour sessions and pay a little bit less ($100HKD off). :: Like all buffets, don't bother with fillers. Go for their most Don't bother with non-main dishes. :: If staying at the hotel, take advantage of the 40% off coupon that is given to guests. Not staying at the hotel? She waited for 15 mins and we got in. Décor is amazing. This is about the owner love to travel so open a shop with all the décor of post card, books and souvenirs all around the world. They do not have a wide selection of menu but all the price are very reasonable. For $100, you can have a soup and main. And all the dishes there is around $100 and the portion is very big enough for 2 people. We ordered 2 sets(fish and fries & Roasted rice with cream sauce), and 2 al carte from the menu (snacks platter & assorted steak). Definitely recommend the fish and fries, the fish are fried perfectly, and size are at least 20cm by 10 cm! We are all impressed with this great deal! And the snack flatter are in great portion(at least 20 pieces of everything) and we got all very excited. Even though it's all sausages, potatoes fedges, onion rings, deep fried curry, stuffed Crab Claw and it's out of my healthy rating, this is just very nicely plated and great taste. I saved some space for dessert and ordered waffle with green tea ice-cream, waffle are freshly made and yes, I do love it. The bill is only $750 for 4 and I am so full after all!

I went with the Duchess of Bedford - not sure what it was but it had a pleasant aroma and good flavor. Dad was happy with his hot chocolate, and mom went with a latte. Tiers of scones, sandwiches, and sweets were brought. In addition to these, there's a dessert buffet in which they also offer ice creams, cookies, biscuits, and truffles. They also had made to order waffles and pancakes. Too many sweets that we had to pack them up. Standouts for me were the smoked turkey sandwich, coffee Paris brest, and the apple tart. Then I found out we can have all you can eat gelato, sliced cakes, chocolate dip from chocolate fountain and made to order waffle/crepes?! This is just INSANE! Unfortunately or fortunately, there is a time frame of when afternoon tea served daily from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. So I cannot stay here forever! A lot of tourist might ended up going to Peninsular Hotel for their Afternoon Tea since it is the to go place in most tourist guide for it's Colonial history. But since it is first come first serve, the line can be crazy and the room packed during tourist season. Here at Tiffin, you can make a reservation and enjoy your Afternoon Tea with class and leisure. Is this what the experience suppose to be?
