If you can't get out to Macau, and you don't feel like paying HK airport prices, this TST location gets the job done. You'll find all the greatest hits from Koi Kei (and Macanese bakeries in general) like soft peanut brittle, beef jerky, cookie egg rolls, and almond cookies. This Macanese bakery company is one of the only ones that has HK locations. Although I did go to Macau on my last trip, I bought from bakeries that didn't have HK locations there and saved my Koi Kei purchases for here.
They have bulk deals, such as having discounted prices for buying multiple packs of the soft peanut brittle. Since I had plenty of family to appease, I took advantage of the bulk deals. Their soft peanut brittle is excellent: chewy, not too sweet and has a wonderful balance of peanut and the added flavor (coconut, black sesame, etc.). I'm not a huge fan of Macanese almond cookies (traumatic experience as a child as I vomited after eating one) but they are pretty good here.
The gift boxes are presentable and pretty, and definitely makes for a nice present for someone not in the area. All the treats are beautifully wrapped or packaged.
Service is a little aggressive, as they'll try hard to make you purchase a lot. However, being polite and having the wherewithal to speak Cantonese goes a long way. The lady at the counter gave me a free sample pack with a nice box. They accept credit, which is an incentive. read more
