The pate has a nice creamy texture and is not gamy. They put scallions in there sandwich. I enjoyed it but this may not be for everyone. If I wrote this review after my first visit I would say that this is the best banh mi O have had in Hon Kong. However, the second time around the bread wasn't as fresh and didn't have the crunchy exterior that I hope for in a baguette. This is probably because I had the sandwich close to dinner time. I will definitely come back when I am craving a banh mi.

Chasu and eggs rice plate: We ate earlier in the day so I wasn't that hungry but I had to try it. I really enjoyed this - another comfort food winner! Eggs were scrambled perfectly and it went well with the sweet chasu and soy sauce. Tomato soup macaroni and beef: I tried a little bit of the soup and I found the soup to be sour and the macaroni too soft for my liking. I believe that this is the Chinese version of tomato soup when you're sick. It's not my thing so I'll pass on this next time. Scrambled eggs with toast: Creamy scrambled eggs on toast was also very good. I managed to eat one slice of toast with the scrambled eggs and couldn't eat any more for the day. Cafe Seasons is well lit (not like the look of the dead everyone has at Australia Dairy Company) and servers are efficient and dare I say friendly. I liked the chasu egg rice plate so much I went by myself two days later :)

They also have some snack bites for $25-40, like chicken wings, spring roll, cheese tofu, samosa and soft shell crab. When the dishes come, the waiter brought us a dish we did not order. As we ordered by alphabet I think he mis-heard. The waiter wanted to argue about it, but a woman, who I presume to be the owner, stepped in quickly to apologize and make us other dish. We really appreciate her attitude. We got the eel and cheese rice in stone pot, which my dad loved so much I gave up my refill to him, lol. The beef ho fan in shrimp paste is okay, lacking in wok chi and not shrimpy enough. The snacks are not bad either. Sadly, the number of dai pai dong has declined over the years as licenses for them are no longer issued, but Sing Heung Yuen is one of the few remaining ones. I came to Sing Heung Yuen for lunch with my friend. There was a line, but it moved relatively quickly. I ordered a Hong Kong-style milk tea and a tomato noodle soup with sausage, luncheon meat, and egg. I was told by a few people that the soup is best with macaroni noodle, but I prefer instant noodle, so I got that instead. The food hit the spot. It was simple, delicious, and super filling. I was told by some local ladies that the toast is a must-try, but I was way too full, so I skipped it. Aside from being a unique experience, Sing Heung Yuen offers a quick and affordable meal to tourists and locals. The soup is on the sour side and I would have liked it to be a little more savory and hearty. The macaroni was a little overcooked but that's basically Hong Kong cafe style. It came with 2 half pieces of spam, one of it was overcooked and dry, the other one seemed undercooked. The beef was decent texture wise but it didn't have much flavor. We also ordered their toast with condensed milk and the toast was over toasted and too crunchy to my liking. Overall, it's an unique experience but don't be expect the food to be superb. Would recommend, but don't expect great service here...or in HK for that matter. ATMOSPHERE (5/5) While I could look this up, I believe this is a licensed theme restaurant as evidenced from the cute, cartoon like atmosphere TeaWood restaurant. The place is adorned with cartoon characters in a woody setting. It's very well done and hat's off to the people who put this together. FOOD (5/5) Wife says this is a Taiwanese character that serves Taiwanese meals and maybe because of this, we were very happy with our meal---mostly because we had a really crappy time getting to our AirBnB and the general attitude of people who we encountered along the way (unhelpful and rude). I ordered a tripe based soup with noodles in a beef broth and it was a 5/5 for me. The broth was very clean, not oily. Noodles were perfectly good. Tripe was not over or undercooked. Vegetables still had a bit of snap to it. Really happy with my meal. My wife ordered a red bean dessert that I took a few bites as well. One of the things I liked about that was how perfectly cooked the mochi balls were. All around delicious. SERVICE (2/5) Perhaps this is a cultural thing, so HK people don't beat up on me too harshly for saying this: but even in a more pricier corporate type of restaurant like this, the service is not friendly was not friendly here and especially at smaller mom and pop shops ***anywhere*** we went in HK. Any time we asked a question, there was this sort of disbelief or umbrage that we would ask a question about what was in a dish, what a certain type of ingredient was, etc. RETURN VISIT? If we do return, we'd probably go back or at least I would. Sans the service, the restaurant is good and tourist friendly to a certain point.

We had two claypots (salted fish with meat cake, shrimp paste with pork), their onion and soy sauce chicken and veggies. The salted fish and meat cake claypot had generous portions of both ingredients. The pork in the meat cake tasted fresh and the salted fish was definitely salty enough. The shrimp paste with pork was also very good. The shrimp paste that the pork was cooked in was just strong enough to have flavor but not overbearing. The cut of pork has the texture of pork neck meat - tender but with a slight chew to it. Both pots produced really good burnt rice. The burnt rice at the bottom of the claypot was crispy and didn't stick to your molars. The onion and soy sauce chicken was tender but a little bit under cooked. Still edible, but there was a light pink to bigger pieces of meat. The veggies that we ordered were very bright green and well cooked with garlic, even though we actually ordered with soup. The staff were nice and patient, no rushing you in and out. The restaurant itself felt like it had been there for a long time, but it wasn't dirty or grubby. My only complaint was that the food took a long time to come (at least 20 minutes). The server warned us that the claypot rices would take long, which I understand, but the chicken and veggie should have been quicker. It could have also been that I was really hungry so felt especially impatient. Overall, I had a good dining experience it here and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Service: They let you take your time to order and don't rush you out. When I called a few days ahead to ask about making reservations for a Monday evening, they said there was no need and there would be seats. Special food accommodations: They also said that I could pre-order any special request dishes.
