In times when you are constantly eating out and are missing the home-cooked soups you get from your mom, this is the perfect place for you to go to. Located in the business center of Sheung Wan, this joint, good soup targets the office workers whom are deprived from proper soups. Busy OLs munching on shop bought salads; men in suit slaving over stock market digging on lunch boxes, from a Chinese medicine perspective, these types of eating habit is very unhealthy and is actually disrupting the internal balance of the body. You know how the chinese use to combine foods and medicine; it is believed that the ingredients in the soup have therapeutic properties and could actually restore the balance of the Ying and Yang. Frankly, i don't really care too much about the internal balance thing, as long as the soup tastes good, it works for me. Indeed, the soups served by this joint is freshly made and have been simmering for long hours; you can actually feel the collagen sticking your lips together after taking a sip off the cup. That's the very definition of a good bowl of soup. I got to say the flavor might be too mild for me, that is, not enough salt; yet all the hard work put into the soup costs only $8 for a cup and $22 for a pot, what more could you ask for? $22 for a taste from the heart of the home, it is worth the while, and more.

My roomie ordered beef rice roll ($21 HKD) and I got Century Egg with Beef Congee ($30 HKD) with doughnut ($12) and my food was big. Congee was big enough for one person and I couldn't believe the doughnut was big. Later I regretted getting doughnut with congee, because I couldn't finish it all. Delish food for a reasonable price. I would come back here again if I happen to stop at HK for a layover flight.

It's communal seating, so don't be surprised if you're sitting with other people. I like that this place has a napkin dispenser, which a lot of restaurants in Hong Kong don't give you napkins. Their congee is good and bubbling hot. Not the best I've had in Hong Kong but it's super quick and cheap. Their soy bean milk is delicious and homemade with no added preservatives. It's great cold too. Their rice crepes aren't too bad either. I like the sesame and sweet sauce they provide you on your table. Each time I've been here, it's been with my parents so they usually speak to them/my sparse Cantonese had gotten me by, not too sure if they speak too much English here. It gets crowded at peak times, but you can usually get a seat. Turn over time is super fast. They're efficent and friendly enough!

Came here for brunch as it was near our hotel…read more We came 15 mins after opening and were seated quickly. They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.

This restaurant on Tung Choi Street seemed pretty promising with the displays of their menu…read moreadvertising the many different specialty noodle soups that they had. After eating so much street food, vendor food, and night market food, we all agreed that a place with more "pure" ingredients would be better for lunch. There really are a ton of selections offered from their menu. You can have rice or noodle soup, your soup can be dry or in a broth, you can have different types of seafood balls, chicken wings, beef brisket, you can choose the type of noodle you want, etc. The possibilities are endless. Prices are also fairly cheap. A bowl of soup is around $28 HKD which is about $4 USD. I think that's a steal! I ordered the beef ball noodle soup with thicker rice noodles. The broth was really clear, and the overall dish was what I needed to combat my unhealthy meals from the days before. There were 5 beef balls in the soup and a ton of cilantro thrown on top, which I loved. Noodles were cooked on point - slightly chewy. Beef balls had that resilient bite to them - overall a really solid dish. My mom ordered her pork knuckle soup with thicker rice noodles and was disappointed that the soup was tomato based. Apparently many restaurants in HK like using tomato based soups/sauces when cooking with pork knuckle, something I am not accustomed to. Overall the dish wasn't bad, but my mom wasn't a fan of the soup because of the tomato taste and the amount of oil in it. The pork knuckle also was cooked in tomato broth, so it definitely didn't have the taste she was looking for. A pass on this dish. The soup noodle with fish ball - very similar to the beef ball soup, except that instead of beef balls, the dish had different types of fish balls. Soup was exactly the same as mine. If you're not a fan of beef balls and more into the seafood combination, I'd recommend this dish since you get to try more of a variety of toppings. Chicken wings with rice - this dish required a few extra minutes to cook since they actually cook the wings right then and there upon ordering. I thought it tasted pretty good. The dish had 3-4 chicken wings on it along with an egg. There was a good amount of rice as well as soy sauce drizzled on top of the rice, giving it enough flavor to eat if you happened to finish all of the wings. My sister thought the wings were really good - slightly crispy, but still juicy on the inside. And we ordered steamed vegetables, just to maintain our healthy lunch meal. The vegetables were not special, but tasted fine. Because the dishes didn't have any vegetables in them, it was a really smart idea that we got this on the side. Restaurant itself is fairly big with a ton of tables and booths inside. You pretty much seat yourself and the waitress will take your order when you're ready. And when you're finished, you pay at the front. Since the food comes out pretty fast, I don't expect that you'll have to wait since people seem to come in and out in under 30 minutes. tl;dr - Decent place for healthy food. A must if you love noodles and fish balls!

The food is pretty safe and the staff is very helpful. We liked the shrimp noodle bowl the best. We also got pork dumplings but they didn't have as much flavor as the shrimp. We also got a fried noodle. You will want to ask for silverware, otherwise you use chopsticks in a drawer under the table. They serve hot water. We got a coffee, and it smelled good, but isn't what you'd think about traditional coffee. It automatically comes with creamer. The food comes out super quick! Our lunch for 3 was $131 HKD, about $20 USD.
