For an entree, I ordered the spaghetti carbonara. The pasta was not creamy at all and the sauce was very watery. Another disappointment. What really ticked me off was that I didn't even get my entree yet and the waiter handed me the bill. I'm like, are you serious? I'm definitely not coming back here again.

There is no indie music or up and coming artists playing in the background, or a fancy gift card for future purposes. The layout is narrow with super small tables and an even smaller tiny counter. Conversations are bound to be overheard, the smell of the coffee will permeate the room, and patrons are typically in and out constantly. Thankfully the staff is both efficient and friendly. It's a cash only operation, but it's nice knowing they also take Octopus cards. While the cappuccino and ice coffee are my go-tos (under $40), the real motivation for being here is their reasonably fast WiFI and solid, intimate meeting space. There is a parking garage across the street and some bicycle parking areas for commuters. Don't come here in a group of course, but for solo sipping and/or some intimate conversation, this is a quality neighborhood spot.

Are they selling coffee beans? They will, eventually, but for now, the barista asked me how much I wanted, measured out 120g for 5 days, ground it for me, and since he didn't have an appropriate container, grabbed an empty bag and put it in it, charging me the same % of the 1kg bag price as I had taken in weight. This is what I call service. Of course they were very nice people too and basically guaranteed that should I need further caffeination after 10am, they'll be my first port of call. Bonus: the place is now called "Just Cafe HIPSTER". Yes, in bold yellow capital letters (with serif - sans fonts are so 2000s), it's in front (see photo) and also on their business cards (see other photo). You can't miss it. There is no Wi-Fi so it's a fair incentive for you to socialize and enjoy a coffee with your friends instead of being connected. As you've seen other posts, there is a great "No Wifi" picture, suggesting we talk to the people we came with and for that I'm adding a .5 star :) We all need to be reminded to enjoy the moment more, not necessarily your gadgets. They do serve food, but we only had coffee. They definitely know their coffee drinks and give suggestions if you ask. Both drinks were good, however, not hot and maybe just above warm? Maybe it was meant to be that way? I'm not sure because the employees don't really follow up to make sure you are satisfied and seem a bit coffee snobby. I'll confess though our specialty drinks were firsts, nowhere have I had/seen them before so maybe they are not meant to be "hot." Seem to be alot of tourists or expats coming in here. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday there were several open tables, but by the time I left (a little after 11) the restaurant was full, so you may need to wait a bit if you arrive during rush times. The ordering process is order-at-the-counter style, with a staffer bringing your food and/or drinks when they're ready. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.
