So we sucked it up and hoped for the best. Unfortunately - on the meat page on the menu, only the most expensive beef dish was available (was hkd 4xx), but given the limited choice we had we just went with it. It was tasty, but it was served cold, seriously cold, at one point my friend even asked if this was an appetizer. The chicken wings looked much better than it actually tasted, I sound like such a whiner but it is what it is. Kimchi pancake was decent. I'm running out of things to say about the food. It was honestly a disappointing experience considering it's not a cheap restaurant, but staff acknowledge that they are in a "soft opening" mode and asked for understanding, they were in okay good spirit at least, so in return, I asked for a free beer and they said yes, so, I will give them another chance and return after they have fully settled in. Their set lunches range from $40 to $70, which is reasonable. We both ordered their set lunch no. 9 - soy Korean fried chicken wings. Perfectly marinated and served to us quickly. Their drinks are not as desirable though. I ordered their signature ice coffee and it just didn't hit the spot. for a $15 add on, it was less of a bespoke, unique Korean coffee and more of a Nestle instant with a bit of caramel on top. This place sells itself with authentic Korean BBQ. The atmosphere is decent, but the seating is pretty tight, especially when five people got seated around a small round table. There is barely space to put our plates, let alone all the bbq items! For the bbq, there is a good selection of meats. Alas, some of them were a bit chewy and stringy, and wasn't quite top notch. Apart from meats, we also got a few other items to share. There was a beef bone soup, which was delicious, steamed egg, and a hot pot that came after the bbq. The hot pot is called the "troop's pot", and apparently resembles what the Korean troops would eat -- a bunch of minced beef, spam, mushrooms, veggies and a slice of cheese (one slice!) thrown into a kimchi-laced broth. There are many kinds of Korean drinks you can fetch from the coolers, so make sure you try some of them! Also, they have delicious banchan. Kimchi and the baby bok choy was our favourite. All in all, I would say this place is pretty good, but it left much to be desired. Everything was already set in the pot, we just waited few minutes for them to get cooked. The pot easily served 4-5 people. We also ordered the chicken platter, that took them a while to make cause it was huge that included three different types of chickens (original, spicy, sweet chili), cheese balls and sausages. Chicken was cooked nicely, good crispy skin and moist inside. The staff were friendly. They setup the hotpot for us. Refilled our water bottles. Time to time checked on us and assisted us with whatever we needed. Overall we had a wonderful dinner time with a family accompanied by great food and a unique hot pot experience.

(The lines are still bearable on weekends, if you are early - like before 7pm). The must-have for me is the 護心肉, i.e., meat around the heart. So meaty and packed with flavor! I usually order one meat + one carb (ramen or bibimbap) for 2 persons, and that's plenty because I get at least 5-6 sides, free with unlimited refill. Among which I love their steamed eggs and kimchi. The kimchi here is quite spicy but oh-so delicious! Service is quite good as well, especially true on weekdays! The staff came and refilled our sides without prompt! They also came and switched our BBQ plates for us without calling. Again, I went on a weekday when the restaurant wasn't busy. I am sure there are plenty of amazing Korean BBQ but why continue the search when you have already found one you enjoy? We began the main part of the meal with one portion of the Sliced Beef Chuck Flap, two of the Marinated Top-Grade Short Ribs, and a basket of lettuce to accompany them. A server usually comes by to prepare the barbecue dishes, but it was apparent that the restaurant was quite understaffed, strangely enough on a Friday night, so we cooked them ourselves. That being said, the quality of the beef was sick, being perfectly tender with a tang of sweetness. Its marinade made it sweet enough so that it would've tasted great without any additional flavoring, but also mild enough so that it got even better with a dipping sauce of sesame oil and fine sea salt. The Seafood Pancake was just the right amount of crispy with plenty of seafood per slice, and it came with a nicely curated soy sauce with scallions, sesame seeds, and fresh chili slices. The meal my coworkers ordered included some meats, vegetables, and a fish soup. The soup was extremely hot but, once it was safe to taste it, it was delicious. Hearty, flavorful, really good! I'm not sure if you are allowed to cook the meats yourself but, our server did it all for us, explaining the right way to do it, and how to tell when all is cooked. I really enjoyed the process, I've always loved watching people cook and open kitchen restaurants so, this was fun for me. On top of that, everything was cooked perfectly and all tasted so fresh. They also had a sort of mini salad bar on the side, with some few items for you to help yourself from. I only tried the pumpkin soup. I was a little hesitant at first but loved it. It's creamy, a little sweet plus, it's pumpkin so, you feel like it's good for you. If I'd known of this before I had all the food on our table, I would have had seconds. The best part of the Bimbimbap was the rice crisps at the bottom of the pot at the end of your meal. Very crispy and it socked up all the flavors from the dish. The Korean Sausage Soup was listed with 1 star of spiciness, but it was definitely spicier than expected. I liked spicy food myself, but the spiciness seemed to have taken over the dish. I couldn't taste much of other flavors and was busy wiping sweat of my forehead. The Beef Short Rib Stew is one of my favorites Korean dish. It's usually very juicy and tender in the sweet beef broth. However, the Beef Short Rib Stew served today was a bit too oily.

Maybe the other dishes were better, but if you're dying for Korean food ... just eat Chinese food until you go back home.
