Five starts for Queen Sophie's milk tarts! SO bomb. The milk custard is fragrant, rich, and smooth. The ratio of custard to crust is perfect. I don't love the flaky crust, as I prefer tarts with shortbread crusts, but I can live with it because the custard is oh so good. It's basically Australian Dairy Company's steamed milk, but in a tart. Just wish I didn't have to travel over 7,000 miles to eat it. We had the milk tarts two days in a row, and would have had it for a third if the store was open before we had to leave for our flight home. EAT THIS.
Three stars for their egg tarts. The ratio of custard to crust is same as the milk tart. But the egg custard, while smooth, is bland. I used to love Tai Cheong's egg tarts but their quality has gone downhill since it franchised. While Tai Cheong's egg custard filling is better than Queen Sophie's filling, Tai Cheong's custard to crust ratio is off. Still searching for the best egg tarts in Hong Kong... read more
