Yum! Very popular. Always with a long long queue with an hour wait. I was shopping at Sogo and randomly find out no queue. Jumped in immediately. They only selling bake cheese tart. This brand is from Japan and known for great taste. $20 each. You will need to buy at least 4 to come with a box. This comes with an instruction on how to eat in different ways including in room temperature, fridge and freezer. You can experience taste fresh from the oven, chill in fridge or ice cream filling taste in freezer. Best to try if you spot that no wait time! Don't think and action to try!

Newly opened in sogo basement, Bake Cheese Tart (from Hokkaido) is one of the hottest new spots. The line to purchase the cheese tarts is about 20 minutes. Due to the lack of space, the line is away from the store, so follow the signs or ask around for the exact location of the line. I was so surprised to see such a long line. I wondered if these actually tasted that great. They do. These cheese tarts are so amazing I can't even describe how obsessed I am. The crust is more on the hard and crunchy side. The core, on the other hand, is soft, milky, creamy, and cheesy. It taste like a cheese cake (like cream cheese) but a soft and custard-y one. So good. $20HKD for 1 and $110HKD for 6. If you purchase 4+ you get a box, otherwise it's just placed in a paper bag.

Lots and lots of cheese tart

Never knew about this place until my mom bought home these delicious cheese tart. And I went back to get some more when I was in the area. It is inside Sogo at the underground floor at the supermarket area. It is freshly made with these rich, creamy, melty cheese filling, while it has these buttery crust.it is sure a cheese heaven. However, I still prefer the traditional egg tarts better, it just more nostalgic for me. These cheese tart is a bit too creamy and rich for me if I want more than one, which what I do most likely if I am having an egg tart. *tips: get 4 or more in order to get a box for your to go orders

Must try! This bakery is located in the grocery section inside of SOGO. I came with a few friends and luckily, the line wasn't too long. The crust had a perfect buttery flavor and was nice and crunchy. The cheesecake filling was so good. Nicely toasted top layer and gooey insides! Next time I really need to buy a whole box...

4.5 stars. I have finally decided to give the cheese tart craze a try and yes- it lives up to the hype. As the first outlet outside of Hokkaido, tart features only 1 item on its menu- so it better be damn good. Located inside the SOGO in CWB, tart sells their little bundles of joy for $20hkd each or $110hkd for a box of 6. Lines were out the door well into the stairwell but the efficiency was acceptable. On to the actual tart- it's good. It's damn good. The crust is crunchy and sweet but not overpowering while it hugs in a smooth soft white pillowy concoction of delicious sweet cheese. Think of it as a mini cheesecake with a heavenly oozy cheese center. I only wish the filling was a bit more firm, however the sweetness level, quality and taste is all top notch. Leave it to the Japanese to perfect such a simple yet delicate treat. Bravo!

Cheese tart!! I've gotten the warm and cool down version before and here's the difference... warm: the filling flows out like lava and can get messy while you devour this thing cool down: filling turns into a cheesecakey texture, does not flow out like lava I like both whether it's warm or cool... Both has its own uniqueness in texture. 4 thumbs up!

Curious to discover what all the hype was about baked cheese tarts in HK, I tried those in the food hall of Sogo in causeway bay since the queue was quite short & fast moving. I'm not a fan of cheese tarts much rather have egg tarts but if you are interested customers are limited to buying 12 pieces in 1 transaction. Staff were advising customers to join the queue again if they wanted more than 12 pieces?!

Really delicious cheese tart.. doesn't taste like any cheesecake you get in America. It's hot and fresh out the oven at the store.. really additive flavors of cheese in your mouth .. by the way it was at the sogo basement. I recommend you eat it fresh right after you buy it, makes a big difference. Yeah it's little pricey, it's twenty hong Kong dollar whixh is like $2.5 for this tiny teeny tart but it's worth it. You get a little bit of discount if you buy half a dozen of them.

4.5 is my rating This cheese tart was amazing! When I had it, it wasn't freshly out of the oven but the interior was still runny and the cheese texture was super soft, not dense, as if it melted when I bit into it. The butter crust was thick and crunchy, tasted like a cookie crust. Usually there are always line ups, but I luckily there was none the time I went.

My friend told me this place was a must try, and really, how can you not listen to a local? So the one odd time I was at Sogo I decided to grab a couple of them to try and mmmmmm. Soft, creamy cheese in a soft, buttery, crumbly shell. It definitely lived up to its hype! I honestly still don't know how the local ladies can stay so slim with all the enticing treats everywhere!

It was good, but nowhere near Hanjuku Kobo. Maybe if they didn't insist on serving it cold...

So GOOD and so RICH!! You must try this, it's like a heavy and rich creamy version of a typical egg tart. Be aware, this place is super crowded, there is no space to enjoy it. Buy it, a get out, or find a corner to enjoy the treat. Due to the limited amount of space, the line is form at a back/emergency staircase away from the crowds. It is impossible to find, you will have to ask an employee. There, you wait in line. When it is your turn you will receive a number card and will be guided to the booth, which is roped off. To enter, you hand in your number card.

My favorite place for Hong Kong dessert! I come here probably a little too much, and any time…read morefriends and family visit Hong Kong, I always make an excuse to bring them here! Don't let the giant queue scare you, and yes there is almost always a queue. Despite that, it moves fairly fast. Its definitely not a place where you sit and chat with your friends. They expect you to sit down, order right away, eat it, and leave right away. But I guess many popular places are like that around Hong Kong.. Seating-wise its very cramp here. You'll be sitting basically elbow to elbow with strangers next and behind you. But that doesn't matter because their desserts are so wonderful! Some of my favorites are the tong yuen (glutinous rice balls) that come come with peanut sauce. The one that comes in the ginger soup is good too (for this dish, the balls have fillings inside, such as sesame or peanut sauce). Another good one is their sorbets, which are perfect for a hot day.

Heyyyy, do you like durian? Or even want to give it a shot despite the crazy smell it may emit or…read morethe odd taste it might exude? I believe one of the ways to try durian without having to be afraid of it is by tasting it through the various dessert dishes here at this cute little place. Having no idea that this place existed, I was pretty thankful to my new local friend who suggested this place. It's located in a small little street, similar to an alley way, and by the time you get near it, you'll definitely see a long line of people waiting to get in. The wait itself isn't that bad. Most people just come here to eat dessert and leave right after. Once seated, my friends and I spent some time browsing through the extensive dessert menu and settled on trying the durian with crystal seeds (one of the many popular dishes) and watermelon and lychee with crystal seeds. In summary, the watermelon and lychee were ok. The watermelon ended up being too watery for my taste and the lychee wasn't too memorable. Both tasted decent but definitely not a must try. For the durian, this was surprisingly good! I am normally not a durian fan (the stench gets to me sometime) but here, you couldn't really smell too much of the durian in the dish. The taste of durian was also soften quite a bit, making this dish a bit more doable for those who do not like durian. I found this dish to be pretty tasty and not too sweet and it was unique to eat it with the crystal seeds. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by for desserts. If you're not a fan of durian but can tolerate the smell of it wafting through the restaurant, this place is great to try other HK desserts at an affordable price.

There was a time when soft serve became all the rage, and Via Tokyo was there through it all. While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Thus, so is Via Tokyo and I hope they manage to stick around as long as possible. They take Alipay, Octopus, and of course, cash. ____________ (#1) Forever immortalized: https://www.yelp.com/biz/via-tokyo-香港-2?hrid=jtpxWsnvwDSZgQu9s6kF5g (#2) Which is often.
